Book Description
Emma and Eadric have no sooner turned back into humans (from being frogs) than Emma's mother is in a panic, Aunt Grassina is distracted because she's found her true love turned into an otter, and Emma's magic is so out of control she sends herself to the dungeon by mistake. The neighboring kingdom has chosen this moment to attack, and if Emma can't get Grassina's mind back on protecting the kingdom, life as they know it in Greater Greensward will be in peril. From underwater sea monsters to fire-breathing dragons, this witty pair of young friends manages to sweet-talk, cajole, and race their way to victory. But when it looks as if everything will finally work out, disaster strikes, and Emma finds that magic is not enough-it takes real bravery and a strong, new friendship to succeed.

PUT IT ON THE WEB........2007-01-12
The book Dragons Breath is a good story. It takes you to several settings the ones it takes you to the most would be when they set out to find the things they need to un-do Haywood's otter spell. The other setting is when they are at their home place where they stay which would be the castle. A conflict this story gives is Grasinna's mother puts a spell on Haywood because she thinks that Haywood is not right for her she thinks he is not good enough for her. So she turns him in to an otter and they tried to convince her mother to un-do the spell. After all the tries they did with her she did not UN-do the spell .The other part that made it hard was they couldn't find all the ingredients. So the resolution is they figure out a way to un-do the spell by them selves which would be Emma, Edric, Grassina, and Haywood. It takes them awhile to find all the ingredients which would put them in the place of having to travel to other places and find the ingredients to un- do the spell. Well this is a good book for people who enjoy reading fantasies I would recommend it to those kind of people.
A Good read for fantasy/romance lovers........2006-10-25
The book Dragon's Breath by E.D. Baker is a fantastic book for those who like fantasies and also the romantic type. This author has a writing style that moves the story along quickly which is one of the reasons I liked this book.
It's about Princess Emma who goes on an expedition with her prince Eadric, her aunt Grassina, and her husband Haywood. Grassina's mother turned Haywood into an otter under the impression that he was not good enough for her. Wishing for Haywood as a human and not an otter, they all attempt to coax Grassina's mother to turn Haywood back. When they're effort makes the issue worse, they find the way to un-do the spell and decide to turn Haywood back themselves. Under pressure with a clock running they have to gather unusual ingredients for the spell. They barely make the cut in and a ghastly turnout ruins their chance to bring Haywood and Grassina the happily ever after they deserve.
I enjoyed this book because of the good ending and the way the author developed the characters. I enjoyed reading this book because I usually don't like fantasy books, but this one worked for me with the streak of romance woven in. I would give this book four stars for the moving pace, the well developed characters, and the balance between romance and fantasy.
Fabulous.......2006-09-10
This is one of the best books I've read in the past year, and since I work in a bookstore I read a lot. I think Emma is the perfect example of what a good female character can be, and it's a story that I think girls everywhere will love. I'm sure boys will like it too, with all the dragons and giant spiders.
This book has so many great things going for it, my favorite thing being that Emma never uses violence to solve a problem unless she needs to, and always gives humans and animals the benefit of the doubt and lets them prove themselves before thinking badly of them.
The paperback is also very sturdy, and will hold up to repeated readings. And trust me, you'll read it repeatedly.

Can't say enough.......2006-09-10
I absolutly adored this book, and I can't come up with enough good things to say about it. It's great for absolutly any age (I'm 26) and I read the first three books in two days.
Wholeheartedly reccomended for girls, who will find a near perfect heroine and role model in Emma.

I loved this book,it was a great story.i cant wait till i get my hands on the third book.
just as pleasing as the first!.......2005-04-14
I loved this story because there were more adventures and surprises, but the end made me sad until I read the next book, Once upon A Curse, and everything was better. I was hooked, I read one and I had to read them all!!!!!!!!!!
Bye It Flamen' Fast.......2005-04-10
If you want to read "Dragon's Breath" I suggest you read "The Frog Princess" first so you can understand it better. In "Dragon's Breath" Emma and Eadric help Emma's Aunt Grassina, the current 'Green Wtich', turn her true love, Haywood, back into a person from a otter. After overhearing a wizard talking to the soul of her grandmother, who turned Haywood into an otter in the first place, Emma learns the things needed to turn him back. Hearing this she sets off to find the ingreddients with Eadric by her side. They find many weird 'things' along the way including dragons witch makes Emma's magic stronger. The neighboring kingdom chose this miment to attack. With Grassina distracted and Emma's magic out of controll it looks like Emma's father's army is going to lose untill something very strange happenes......

Get them reading!.......1999-12-02
I could not believe my 7-year-old son's reaction to this book. We've read a lot of books together, but I've never seen him act like this before. I read Dragon Breath to him. Then, for the FIRST time ever, he picked it up and read it himself. Again and again! I loved seeing the beginning of a love for reading. Now if I can just find other books that he loves as much...
A great book for early readers.......1999-06-24
This is the type of book kids love to read! It is a little spooky and a great adventure. My 7 year old son really enjoyed it. He reads it over and over again. The "Eek! Stories to make you Shriek" series is a very good way to create an interest in reading to your child.
Highly recommend this book........1998-08-27
I bought this book to read to my 4 year old. He LOVED it. It has just the right amount of suspense and "scare" to capture the imagination but won't cause nightmares.

Many years before Princess Emma's time, an angry fairy cast a curse on her ancestor, Princess Hazel. The fairy decreed that Hazel and all her female descendants, upon reaching their sixteenth birthdays, could not touch a flower, or else all their youth, beauty, and kindness would be erased.
Emma had seen it happen-her grandmother had always been a spiteful witch, and now her favorite aunt, Grassina, has fallen under the spell as well. Though Emma has wonderful new powers as the Green Witch, she has only one week before her own sixteenth birthday, and with it comes the threat of the family curse.
No one before her has been powerful enough to find the fairy responsible, or to reverse the curse, but Emma is determined-and with the help of Eadric, her favorite bat, Li'l and some ancestors she has only just met, she may be able to outsmart an adversary she thought she'd left behind long ago.

Product Description
Touched by the Dragon s Breath is based on actual conversations that took place between the author and his mentor, John Redstone, splashed against the backdrop of Colliding Rivers in Southern Oregon. These weekly discussions, spanning more than three years, explain in detail the significance of 2012, the Photon Belt, Zero Point, the light wave of creation, and the 50-year Time/Space Overlap Zone between the Piscean Age and the Age of Aquarius. In two related conversations about the Seedbed and the Mirror of Life, John Redstone reveals his step by step approach to cleaning up the Belief System, a key element in preparing for the global frequency shift commonly called the Shift of the Ages that will usher in a new Golden Age. In a separate chapter highlighting prophecies from the Hopi, Maya, Aztec, and Tibetan cultures, the author substantiates many of Mr. Redstone s views on 2012 and the Photon Belt, a spectacular band of multi-dimensional light, secretly known to some as the Dragon s Breath. The author also provides valuable, little-known information about water, as well as personal glimpses into his own spiritual journey; most notably, a quest that began over 70,000 years ago in the ancient land of Lemuria.

"Dragon's Fury - Breath of Fire, 2nd Edition" is an update to the original that accounts for historical events that have transpired since the 1st publication in November of 2001. Military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq resulted in characterization and plotting changes that allow the other volumes in the series to continue to stand as a plausible scenario for the fictional out break of war. All five novels depict how recent events lead the United States of America and the entire world into a Third World War. This first volume in the series is about the events leading up to, and the horrific beginning of that war in 2006. It is a story of cultures and competing political systems where the Chinese and other belligerent nations develop surprising advances that they employ against the West. It is about suppositions, arrogance, and the fact that neither side is going to do what the other side expects, no matter how good the plan. It is a story of faith and the ultimate triumph of good over evil in the face of horrific obstacles and setbacks. From leaders in high offices of power, to soldiers and sailors from the involved nations, to housewives and their children, down to kids on the street, it is also the story of people - common and not so common - caught up in the titanic struggle.
Customer Reviews:
Great, modern WWIII saga.......2004-11-25
Reviews of this novel and the series seem to be all over the place, though most are very positive.
I am in the latter category. I really liked this book. The supercavitating technology is cutting edge and plausible...the technological descriptions and details of current military equipment, even the newer class ships, aircraft, armor, etc. are very realistic.
I like Head's characters. Both the friendly (to the US) and the antagonists are well developed...not shallow at all. You find yourself understanding them, even those who are enemies.
The book is really an exciting buildup to a climax that will stand your hair on end. The US does not fair well at all in the ending events of this novel...but you are still left with hope from a very recognizable presidential character.
I am excited to see where the author goes with the rest of the series. I've already purchased the other four novels and will review each as I finish them.
Read this first.......2004-11-23
These five books tell the story of WWIII that pits the US & allies against China & Allies. There are a number of things that make this a hard sell. One problem with these novels is how long they are verses the writing style in the books. With five books you have a lot of paper to develop character depth and the author tries, but if you have read any of tom Clancy books involving Jack Ryan then you will be disappointed with the result, especially at (...) Canadian per book. The second problem is the Chinese capabilities in the time line the author has set the events are hard to believe, especially the logistic abilities. If you want to read this series check the library or second hand store first. Otherwise buyer beware
Military enthusiast in LA.......2004-11-17
This is a great military techno-thriller.
Despite a few negative reviews, I agree with the vast majority of reviewers that the novel is extremely well written in all aspects, from a story-line/plot perspective, from a military technical perspective, and from a characterization perspective. It does suffer from a few typos resulting from what I perceive to be the self-publication processs, but I do not know what the one reviewer from Switzerland read to give him the idea that the characters in this book were somehow too simple...whatever it was, it was not the same novel I read because my views were quite the contrary. Then again, to that reviewer, perhaps I would be too simple as well.
In any event, Mr. Head draws out a believable scenario regarding how the Chinese could develop credible counters to some of the critical technical advantages the US currently holds, and then use them against the US in a masterful scenario drawing the fundamental Islamic nations and others to their side in a surprise attack that dwarfs Pearl Harbor and 911.
Scary stuff, but a wonderful read. It is the first in a five part series (I have now read them all) that I can safely say is sure to hold the interest of readers like myself who enjoy this genre. This entre series has the makings of a truly epic World War III masterpiece in my opinion.
Overly simplistic world.......2004-11-02
I plodded through to the end of this book, hoping that Mr. Head's writing style and depiction of the world would break out of the simplistic. I was disappointed. The world and the motivations of the humans that live in it, both in positions of power and among the common folk, are much, much more complex than in this book. The only redeeming quality of the book is as the basis to some hypothetical wargame scenarios (say for Harpoon 4). Otherwise, you won't lose anything by not reading it. You're better off buying a good history book for the money.
Good for tech fans.......2003-10-27
Clogged with technical jargon and stilted writing, an admirable aping of early Tom Clancy. The story is a little too far-fetched, which could have been overlooked if the language in the book wasn't so clunky. More like a screenplay than a novel. Nice try, though.

Nice Hobby Weapon.......1999-03-23
I just bought this book about 2 months ago and built a flamethrower, boy it is one hell of a hobby weapon.
informative.......1997-04-07
An informative book, sufficient as a starting point for anyone interested in flamethrowers and their use.
Many problem areas are described and solutions suggested.
If construction drawings and better pictures of home-made as well as military rigs had been included, the book would have been highly recommendable; as it stands it receives an OK rating.

Book Description
William Cook spent more than 20 years as a Marine officer traveling around the globe before retiring to Washington State to live with his Airedale terriers, Arabian horses, and Siamese cat. His travel destinations have included countries in Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, Central America, and South America. William Cook's life has many similarities to the life of his hero Clint Stone. As a career Marine officer, he has traveled to the places mentioned in this adventure novel. Writing what he knows, Cook has incorporated the inside thoughts of a martial life of adventure into this book. He still travels, gathering fresh material for the continuation of his adventure novel series built around the exploits of Clint Stone, Douglas Rosales, Joseph Impestato, William Creek and Northeast Enterprises' private security company founder, General Big John Tompkins.
Customer Reviews:
Page Flipping Fun.......2007-04-14
I was pleasantly surprised to receive a full-sized, shinny soft-backed book instead of a paper-back as listed in the book's description.
The story was raw and different, like Tom Clancy and Dale Brown on steroids. I was both astonished and amused by how closely the book followed the current news headlines, considering the book was published a year ago. I can't help but wonder if Cook got his ideas from a crystal ball.
The book has some amusing grammatical errors. But it was refreshing to read something fresh and uncorrupted by the fast-food marking I find in so many of the books on the main-line bookstore shelves.
Overall "Dragon's Breath" was for me a high-speed journey through history, from pre-historic Mexico to the possible present. Cook loaded his story with inside looks at today's headlines, and historically anecdotal nuggets to chew on along the way. I had lots of fun reading it.
