We shared this with our boys when they were 6 or 7, and they enjoyed it a lot. Sniffy is a dismal detective -- and kids quickly catch on. The word play is age appropriate. It's a fast read and nice on kids' self-esteem, especially when they are just starting to read. They feel proud of figuring out the case before Sniffy does.

I think this book was very short. It was probably a 3rd to 4th grade reading level. The book was about a crime sleuth trying to find out crimes. That sleuth was Smiffy Blue. Each chapter is a different mystery. I did not like the book. I didn't like it because it was too easy for me and very easy to figure it out. If I where to grade the book I would probably give it a c-. I read it in one day and figured every story out before it ended. It was so easy to figure it out once Smiffy found the first clue in every story. I would not recommend this book to anyone unless you are in a lower grade level or just starting to read. Anybody that reads this book will probably know what I mean. Also in some stories there are some pointless comments that some people say and it is very unnecessary.
