Good story and great artwork.......2007-06-17

This book has fantastic artwork and a wonderful story. Although written for younger children, it's appeal holds for all generations. The story is simple, but interesting, and teaches children to be honest and respectful. This story will be especially enjoyable for Corgi lovers, as Corgis are the main characters, along with cats, bunnies, and Bogarts.

Tasha Tudor at her best........2007-03-20

I am a big fan of Tasha Tudor. I have read that this is her favorite work so this is the book I always give as a new baby gift. Every child and every adult should own a copy of this book.
The story is clever and fun with lots of animal action for little ones to enjoy. The art is Tasha at her best. Every page has so much to see. Like all of the Tasha Tudor books, this one provides REAL art fo children to enjoy and learn to appreciate.

We own many, many, many children's books and all 7 of our children agree this is the very best one! Everyone should own it, just to see how enchanted Corgies really are and to see the fun at the Corgiville Fair. We also really like the rabbits who are diving into the pond and the use of chickens in the place of horses is to funny!

Another winner from Tasha Tudor.......2002-04-12

Nothing pleases me more than to open the pages of "Corgiville Fair" and marvel at Ms Tudor's ability to create a magical, mythical world of corgis, goats, cats, bunnies and boggarts. The story is so dear, the illustrations are truly inspired, and the boggarts are personalities a reader will never forget. This is a treasure for any child's or adult's library; as a child I wanted nothing more than to be able to live 'west of New Hampshire and east of Vermont' in the wonderful, cozy world of Corgiville.

On The Run In The Countryside.......2007-03-20

Oh, Look! by Patricia Polacco is a great book for young kids that like adventure. I think first or second graders should read it. In the book some goats are running away. They go to many different places. This book is filled with excitement.

The book takes place at a farm in the countryside. In the beginning, the goats are safe at home when suddenly someone opens the gate! They escape and go all over the countryside. They even go to a carnival! But then, they get scared. Read the book to find out what happens in the end.

This book has some great illustrations that took some hard work. They were mostly made in colored pencil, but not entirely. I love all of the description words! These words help you imagine you are really there. They give a lot of information.

There are some things that you can change though. I think the story was a little to short. There were only two sentences on each page. That was all I didn't like. Besides that, it was awesome!

I totally recommend this book. It's fun and easy to read. Plus, there are many different animals. The author did a great job. So, would you like to read this book?

Looking and Laughing..........2006-08-05

This delightfully engaging and even suspenseful children's book continues to reinforce in my mind that Patricia Polacco tells a wonderful story and moves it quickly from one eventful moment to the next. As a high school teacher, I read "Oh Look" for my own personal pleasure. As always, the art illustrations and the storyline leaped from the bag and carried me away with a blast of beauty through the animal's escapades. I can hardly wait to share this story with a group of children. Thank you for the privilege.

Surprisingly Delightful.......2006-01-06

I love Patricia Polacco but when I read this story, I thought it lacked in originality. The bear hunt has been done again and again, and for me, Polacco is so much more wonderful and orginal than that. However, as the goats approach the fair, and then the funhouse mirror, the fun really starts, especially for my 2 and a half year old. He can't get enough of this book! As the pages turn and the ogre gets nearer, he can hardly contain himself! It is so much fun!

A tale of three escaped goats on an adventure. Though it follows the style of going on a bear hunt, the goats are not hunting anything. Nonetheless, they find an ogre who scares them back home. My daughter's favorite Maisy book!.......2007-02-11

If your child loves Maisy and going to the fair, this one is a keeper! My two-year old loves the part when Tallulah yells "Yoo Hoo!" from the top of the ferris wheel.

If you are the parent of a young child, you probably know who Maisy is. She's a mouse with a duck, a squirrel, an elephant, and a crocodile for friends. Whty the crocodile isn't trying to eat the others is beyond me, but that's life in Maisy's workd.

Both of my daughters love the Maisy books, and this is a particular favorite. The books are short and easy to read and have a certain appeal that I just haven't quite figured out yet. The stories are never obnoxiously simplistic, like so many other books for small children.

In this book, Maisy visits (surprise!) the fair. She visits various rides and finishes up with some cotton candy. Okay, so its not long on plot, but two-to-three year olds love it.

There is nothing really great about this book, or really any of the MLP books I've read so far. There is the vaguest hint of a moral but it's so poorly done that it's laughable. The art work is uninspiring, and the vocabulary not difficult at all.

My Favorite Gator Book.......2002-12-05

I give this book five stars because its the best book I've read. Also I like it because its funny. Although some parts were boring . There's something that I didn't like. The title didn't match the story. For people that are younger it would be a great book to listsen to. This book was funny because there were two boy gators and three girl gators that bothered each other and made up very funny jokes.

Blue's Clue's books and dvd's are very educational and entertaining for young children and my grandson really loves this book. He carries his Blue's Clue's books to bed with him.

FUN BUT A LITTLE TOO POLITICALLY CORRECT.......2005-02-07

Steven takes Blue and Periwinkle into town where they get to go to a Spring fair. They take part in several activities including making painted leaf prints and an egg hunt. Fun book but It bothers me so much that these kids books have to be so politically correct that they cannot call it an "Easter egg hunt". I mean, at what other time of year do children hunt for eggs?

A little disappointed.......2002-04-21

My child loves Blue's Clues and this book was in his age frame, but this selection didn't work well for us. The artwrok and story-line were great. The problem was in the length of the book, I'm not sure that there are many pre-schoolers that would sit still long enough to finish this book. I have attempted to read to several children, most of whom could not finish it. I think once my child matures a little more, it will be a better fit though. There is the great opportunity for parents to take the wonderful artwork and put the story in less verbose terms for there kids. In order to make the book enjoyable for my child, that what was necessary for us.

The best book on the market for carousel carving........2001-04-09

I have taken classes from the author, and the book is written just like his classes. The book goes step by step through the whole process of carving the carousel. I have observed some of Mr. Rienhardt's other works and I hope he continues to write other great books on carousel carving.

Great book if you want to carve 1/8 size horses!.......1999-12-20

This book includes the plans for many horses and there aren't a lot of separate parts per each horse, which is good. He handles all you need to know in a basic, down to earth manner including wood grain, finishing, etc. He's carved over 1,000 horses so I guess he knows what he's talking about. I hope he puts out other books about different carving styles of carousel horses (especially Mullers) in the future.

I bought this book at "bargain price" at Amazon.com and I am very satisfied with the purchase. The book not only has popup pages, but also has numerous interactive features. Every page has a different kind of feature (many are hidden) that encourages kids to hunt for them.

Very entertaining and keeps children busy.
