About the Artist
Hailing from the grim landscapes of windy upstate New York, THE RED DEATH is here to rot flesh with their abrasive form of extreme metal. While firmly rooted in a brutal Swedish death assault, THE RED DEATH push boundaries by exploring both the all-out speed attack of thrash metal and convictions of American hardcore. THE RED DEATH will establish themselves on a national level with massive amounts of touring.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars All out Thrashfest!!.......2007-01-16

I heard about The Red Death on the Metal Blade Records website and I read a review in a magazine a few years back. I was kind of skeptical at first, but this was a trusted metal magazine and they gave it a 9/10. I bought it up and it is an amazing CD. It reminded me of a band called Heaven Shall Burn. There is a great deal of a Swedish Death Metal influence along with a few breakdowns sprinkled about. It was a breath of new life in the metal world flooded with mediocre metalcore bands in which everything seems to get categorized as "metalcore." I would put this into the Melodic Death category. It shouldn't be anything less than that. This is not metalcore, it's death metal...I give it a 5/5, the musicians are very good and the production is very good as well. Good job Metalblade! BUY IT

4 out of 5 stars Upstate NY's answer to Marduk.......2006-02-20

Very good, I have to say that I'm surprised...The US does have some bands that can hang with Scandinavian bands. Although at first listen I thought I was listening to Marduk but without the satanic lyical content. Worth a listen, and if your a fan of Swedish death metal buy it! Worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars Don't be skeptic like I was.......2005-10-13

I was on the metal blade website when i seen this link for The Red Death. So I checked out the samples on amazon. Needless to say i was skeptical about them from the samples...so I went ahead and bought it without question. I asked around to see if anybody I knew had heard of them. "Who?" is all I got from anyone. When it arrived, I popped it in the CD player and my jaw dropped. It was like I was hearing thrash, hardcore, and death metal all at the same time. Unlike any other metalcore album, these guys combine everything "too" smoothly. Now I'm NOT saying I can predict band's success, but I have a feeling these guys are going to be well know and very well respected. Extensive touring is all they can do as of now. Hopefully after touring a while and another album, these guys get the recongnition they deserve for developing such a extreme album.

If you're a fan of Shadows Fall, Unearth, God Forbid, Lamb of God, etc., this is a highly recommended new album from a new group.

DON'T CONFORM!!!STAY METAL!!!

5 out of 5 stars WTF AT AMAZON LISTING DEATH METAL BANDS AS METAL-CORE.......2005-10-04

Listen to Silent Machines, this band is obviously not metal core, its more like Black or Death metal.

Metal Core = Atreyu

Death Metal = The Red Chord

Death Metal rules, metalcore doesnt

5 out of 5 stars a record that you can listen to over and over.......2005-09-05

many new techmetal/metalcore bands have that one thing that(bad singers mostly)throws you off and sends the cd to the back of your collection. This band has there head on straight, their musicianship very tight and isn't repeatative. You can tell on this cd that they have put lots of time into making everything flow how it should and not forcing it to hit a deadline. a great f'in album
