As good today as it was when I was a teenage pothead.......2007-03-12

Having discovered and admired Spirit in my teen years, I naturally followed Jay Ferguson's music career after that great band broke up. And while the first Jo Jo Gunne album didn't do much for me, this - the second - was a whole new world. But for me, notwithstanding Ferguson's ambitious songwriting and arranging, this album was about Matt Andes' guitar playing. Seldom flashy, he infused every song on the album with some of the tastiest licks heard before or since. He had a remarkable ability to make organic - rather than electronic - use of phase-shifting and delay, and his tone, which sounded as if he were coaxing it out of his guitar rather than simply laying on effects, was absolutely perfect. His phrasing, sense of melody and ability to take a solo through a dramatic arc were an epiphany to me. The good news is that 30 years later, as a middle-aged middle manager with caffeine substituting for alakloid compound, this album and Andes' superb guitar playing still bring on a chill.

Take Me Down Easy.......2006-06-05

Heard this on XM for first time in years. I really miss the rock of that era. Jay Ferguson(Spirit) had a good run with several albums. (yes, vinyl) I saw Jo Jo Gunne in Atlanta years ago. A fantastic show! Jay had on overalls and no shirt. The lead guitarist was chuncky and had black glasses. Awesome concert, I still listen to their music!

My favorite Jo Jo Gunne album .......2005-10-07

I purchased all four original Jo Jo Gunne albums as they were released, and the person who is telling everyone that the one with the black cover is the debut couldn't be more wrong! The first one is the one with the car and was released in 1972. Bite Down Hard is the second release from 1973 and was always my favorite. Check out the spacey ending to Special Situations - with headphones or while sitting directly between speakers. Very "trippy".

Their Best!!.......2004-09-16

This is by far their best! With Jay Ferguson on vocals this band had reached their peak. One of my all time favorite albums. It just rocks all the way through!

California Rock.......2004-01-10

Jo Jo Gunne played at Southwestern Oklahoma State University after the release of WHERE'S THE SHOW? The show was excellent and the crowd got into the boogie rock of the band. Jo Jo Gunne played a version of FRESH GARBAGE, the tune by Jay's old band, Spirit. I am looking forward to the release of their new CD with the reunion of all four original members. Only one other review? Come on people! This album rocks...unfortunately it got lost in the shuffle. Pick up this record and the two ARCADE albums and you will be transported back in time.

GREAT album..........2006-01-18

There isn't an ounce of filler here. "Six Guns Loaded", "Louder", "Look My Way"... All classics. The band sounds focused & like they're enjoying every last second of making this record. Only one thing could have been better with this re-issue... Where is the non cd track "Turn On"? That together with the "Louder" video would have made this sell through the roof. Don't blame the band, they had nothing to do with the re-issue.

Would love a new release from these guys, but don't know if that's in the cards as Billy Childs is now in "Childs/Krash" and Johnny Dee is in the INCREDIBLE "Powervibe"

So very impressed with this "hair band" album! Very well put together tunes and surprisingly heavy!...If you love glam rock turned to glam metal pick this cd up, you won't be sorry!

best britny fox cd to date.......2005-09-08

well i have the first two b f cd's & dizzy dean just didnt have the throat my ears were dying to hear. along came tommy paris what a screamer! he completly blows away dizzy dean....my favorite track is ....louder... what a great rock n roll song & the new singer just kicks ass, im surprised this cd didnt set the band on fire by the time it did come out it was too late for britny fox. the worst part of britny fox was the hair. michael kelly smith was that a wig or what? the drummer was never to impressive great guitar work & riffs. pounding bass lines.....guitar solos were screaching, some of the best guitar work ive heard. the cd high point the arrival of a new singer.

One of My "Unknown Classics".......2004-12-04

This cd did not come with high expectations. After Dizzy Dean Davidson left the band, I was not sure I was gonna like this cd with singer Tommy Paris. Let me say that this is one the best metal cds I own! BRITNY FOX did not disappoint! I like the first two cds a lot but this one is really good. This cd should have been more popular than it was. If you like your hard rock, definitely pick up this disc.
