"10 out of 10"

Product Description
The record by this NYC collective is divided into three parts. The first is a mix of early garage and heavy metal with baroque pop choruses and driving guitar. The second part settles into a dreamy, down-tempo space-rock vibe. The final section introduces a bit of Miami bass and electronic beats, taking it to the dance floor. What brings it all together is Lansing-Dreiden's ability to make each song their own with distinctive melodies and vocals.

5 out of 5 stars wow.......2006-01-30

out of the 3000+ songs on my mp3 player.... 'Laid In Stone' is my #1 all-time favourite song! Another great song is 'Glass Corridor' and the rest are sweeeet too!

5 out of 5 stars Great album.......2005-05-07

I definitely disagree with the negative reviews here, and most of them seem to focus on the band and its image, not the music. I could care less what their website says or whether this is an art project or a corporation or a football team making this CD, because the album is really, really good. It's not very original, but that's obviously on purpose. It's a really well done homage to three things these guys obviously like: 60s garage rock, 80s electronic techno stuff, and post-punk.

5 out of 5 stars Love at first listen .......2005-01-27

Add equal parts Joy Division, Slowdive, The Pixies, Depeche Mode, Mamas and the Papas, early Pink Floyd, Cabaret Voltaire and sprinkle it with art rock fairy dust and the triangle is almost complete.

4 out of 5 stars Come on, it's not that bad.......2005-01-07

I think the reviewers who gave this album 1 star were a little too harsh. Yes, the sounds are familiar but that doesn't completely detract from the appeal of this album. I don't really care who or what L-D is but I do like the fact that three styles of music are visited on one cd. Some are more successful than others - the garage rock section is take-it-our-leave-it, the middle section my favorite - it reminds me of the wistful britpop sounds of The Clientele, and I can't help but have a special place in my heart for fun 80s New Order style dance music.

4 out of 5 stars Three worlds of souds.......2004-09-25

I love this group, and I say "group" loosely cos they're not really a band. It's a striking album that's both metal and shoegazish and the latin miami Freestyle. If all these styles have came across yer path in the past years and you've dug it. Then buy this album. But don't buy cos some scenie townie says you should get it cos it soundt like Franz Ferdie Ferdinand, that bollocks!! They don't even cross paths, that's like a buddhist monk with a machine gun, don't seem right together. I sometimes play this records to townies in the socials. Line it up with My Bloody Valentine and Northern Picture Library. All the clubbers drop their hootch and cider, spin on the dancefloor and begs you for more!!
