Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Frankie is the Best!.......2007-07-25

There is nothing in this world like the range of Frankie Valli's voice and this CD captures that range. Known for his 3 octaves of precision, I am constantly amazed at how he hits those high notes. The CD is a compilation of all his greatest hits that will keep you singing for hours and hours...but don't ever expect to hit those notes like Frankie does!

5 out of 5 stars Worth the Money and Best Songs Ever.......2007-07-19

This product was worth buying if your into 60's music. I like the product and the music very good.

5 out of 5 stars Great CD.......2007-07-17

Every song on this CD is great especially after seeing Jersey Boys you will be listening to this CD over and over again. I highly recommened it.

5 out of 5 stars Great compilation CD.......2007-07-16

This CD is a great overview of the best hits of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Alot of great and familiar songs like Sherry, December 1963, Big Girls Don't Cry, etc. CD art has great pictures and a history of the group. There are also 3-4 songs done by Frankie Valli as a solo artist, like the popular song "Grease". If you like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons or you're just beccoming interested in them, this is a great CD to have.

5 out of 5 stars Brings back the good times..........2007-07-15

If you have fond memories of the 60's, and even if you don't, this music will make you sing! These songs were in the foreground and the background of our lives in those simpler times. I saw "Jersey Boys" on Broadway and this brings back that incredible sentimental journey back.
Listen and smile.

The movie is a 1970s take on 1950s musicals, providing all the kitsch anyone could hope for. It's John Travolta as Danny Zuko as Olivia Newton-John's pompadoured main squeeze, and the kids go crazy. Fresh from his astronomical success with Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, Bee Gee Barry Gibb penned the title track (sung by Frankie Valli). Sha Na Na is over-represented, and actress Stockard Channing struts her, um, versatility, singing a couple of tracks. This has become a touchstone in American culture, and so isn't likely to improve our standing in the world's eyes. Maybe the point is that it's supposed to sound amateurish, but it does manage to eke out some fun, most notably on the hit "You're the One That I Want." --Scott Wilson

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars old but still got it.......2007-07-21

This was my first album in record form. My preteen daughter now loves it and has taken it over and choreographed every song with her friends.

4 out of 5 stars Several Weak Tracks.......2007-06-27

The only thing holding this album back from being consistentatly a 5 star critic's favorite is the fact that it contains several weak tracks, and the title song Grease is possibly the only legitimate song that will bring back nostalgia for those that liked the movie and the singing in the musical. I always thought they were stuck in the 50s, but they've updated it to like the 70s or maybe even 90s, but still not modern enough for my tastes. The music is well crafted filler to a classic movie that will only date with time.

5 out of 5 stars Throwback music.......2007-05-29

If you hav ever seen the movie than you already know, and if you haven't, then you need to. It is a classic American musical, with great oldies music. Highly recommeded.

5 out of 5 stars Very Upbeat Songs.......2007-05-21

Listening to the music from Grease brings back the good memories of watching the movie. The music is funny (Summer Nights; Beauty School Dropout; Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee; Greased Lighting), touching (There Are Worse Things I Could Do; Hopelessly Devoted To You) and very 70's (Blue Moon; Rock "n" Roll Is Here To Stay; Born To Hand Jive). John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John sing great, but the supporting cast (Stockard Channing, Sha-Na-Na), also contribute to a good sound. Great rock and roll!

4 out of 5 stars Classic nostalgia .......2007-05-03

I of course remember when I was eight years old when Grease came out and I played the singles to death on the turntable. Revisiting now I remember how *cumbersome* it is. The first ten tracks are absolutely essential. They are the strength and reflection of the soundtrack and what makes the movie go.

Any listener should not be remiss about the cumbersome nature of the soundtrack. One can skip over easily the songs they don't like. Not like the ol' turntable vinyl where that convenience was not there. Let's face it, too much Sha-Na-Na is too much Sha-Na-Na.

Overall, it's a great buy for the asking price for those who remember. A versatile Travolta and Newton-John strutted their stuff in a time they could do no wrong. And contributions by Franki Valli, Channing and Avalon make this a good listen.

At three CDs, Rhino's 25th Anniversary Collection may have featured just a little too much. But at one CD, Rhino's distillation of that box set--also titled Anthology--may have been just a tad too short, neglecting cuts ("The Proud One," "Peanuts") that true aficionados wanted on CD. The label remedies the situation with its 2001 Anthology, which, at two CDs, is really only three songs shorter than the 25th Anniversary Collection. Thus, the casual fan may still get a bit more than necessary (including a very vanilla take on Fats Domino's "Ain't That a Shame"). The tradeoff is you'll also get everything you could possibly want by this wonderful group, including the great obscurities (although the label also released a new rarities package, Off Seasons, to coincide with this compilation). It prominently features those amazing '60s radio hits that merged Spector-ish production with East Coast street-corner doo-wop to produce epic miniature rock operas. Much of the imagery in those very class-conscious love stories would turn up in the songs of another great Italian rock star from New Jersey named Springsteen. And to this day, the music and production still sound passionate and glorious. --Bill Holdship

5 out of 5 stars It doesn't get any better than this.......2007-06-17

I've been a long time fan of The Four Seasons-The smash Broadway musical "Jersey Boys" has rekindled a lot of interest in the group & its music-You get all the key hits:"Sherry","Big Girls Don't Cry","Walk Like A Man","Rag Doll",& "December 1963 (Oh,What A Night)"-Those five songs all topped the Billboard "Hot 100" at one time-You also receive an informative booklet, which gives a lot of vital information-If you're a die hard Four Seasons aficionado, you must buy this.

5 out of 5 stars Great Set List, Great Sound, Great Packaging! What Else Is There?.......2007-06-06

Set list is perfect. No useless bonus cuts that I won't listen to. All tracks are in perfect chronological order.

Great Sound. Volume and mixing is perfect. I even put this on a Wave Editor and the volume is near 0db with terrific dynamic range.

Great Packaging, with a nice booklet with photos, a detailed set list with dates and original stock numbers, and nice information about the group.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Four Seasons, but if you want to buy a really good sounding CD set of their stuff with a great set list and packaging, this one is for you.

5 out of 5 stars Great Memories.......2007-03-14

If you are a Four Seasons fan, this is the CD(s) for you. All of their best songs are here as well as Frankie Vallie's "disco days" songs. You won't be disappointed!

5 out of 5 stars This collection made me a fan!.......2007-03-02

I've known of Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons for many years. They're typically that really screeching band you hear a few bars from the chorus of one or two of their hits on one of those late night commercials for the "fab fifties hit collection" CD.

Anyway, that's what I thought until out of a desperate attempt to wean my young children off the Beach Boys that they seem to need to listen to every evening and have been for the last two years or so, I went ahead and ordered this anthology.

Well, a whole new world of pop music opened up to me. Guess what, when you play a beatifully remastered CD on a high-end stereo system (one of those systems where the transformers are in separate boxes), they actually sound rather good! I was totally amazed at this band that I had pre-judged as being a bunch of 50's throwbacks that are only good for a screech or two during a CD commercial on late-night TV.

And, the stuff between the hits sounds good too. Sure, not all the tunes on this collection have the hooks of the great hits, but to me it's more interesting to hear a full range of what a band is/was capable of, not just the absolutely greatest hits.

One of my kids liked it too. So, if you're already a fan of this band I don't see how you could go wrong, unless you own all these tunes already, but if you're not a fan this CD set just might make you one.

And once you've digested this anthology, go get the "Let's Hang On and 11 Other Hits". It's got a different version of "Workin' my Way Back to You" and the brilliant "Beggars Parade" and a lot of other great tunes that didn't make it to their greatest hits albums.

5 out of 5 stars Great Collection.......2007-02-17

This collection beats any of the others that are on sell at this time.
It has very hard to find singles that were released in the 60s and 70s. One of my favorite selections is FALLEN ANGEL, that is featured in the Broadway play JERSEY BOYS. Buy this!!

As the music and legacies of various rock legends--Elvis, the Beatles, the Stones, Dylan, the Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen--have been thoroughly celebrated, analyzed, and overanalyzed by rock critics, fans, and reissuers, the Four Seasons--New Jersey's premiere pop act before Springsteen or Bon Jovi--remained grossly overlooked and underappreciated. To the uninformed, their pre-Beatles roots--stretching back to the doo-wop era--or sure slickness might have fostered the misconception they were somehow less "hip." Musicians, however, knew better. Dylan, Springsteen, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, and Brian Wilson among them thoroughly understood and appreciated the Seasons' vision, centered around their harmonies, Frankie Valli's vocal virtuosity, and the stellar work of songwriter-organist Bob Gaudio who, with producer Bob Crewe, created the now-classic Seasons sound, which withstood Beatlemania and everything afterward. The recent Tony Award-winning musical Jersey Boys helped sweep aside those decades of neglect by reintroducing the Four Seasons to a new audience. Rhino's magnificent package--four CDs on 84 tracks and a DVD of rare performances--explores the music that inspired it all, beginning with their 1962 debut hit "Sherry," through magnificent, timeless mini-dramas like "Dawn," "Rag Doll," and "C'mon Marianne" and tongue-in-cheek efforts like their version of Dylan's "Don't Think Twice (It's All Right)" by the "Wonder Who." Along with various rarities, the collection includes Valli's solo hits. "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and "Swearin' to God" reaffirm his stature as one of that era's great vocalists. The DVD includes performances from a 1963 Steve Allen show and a 1971 appearance on Britain's Top of the Pops. --Rich Kienzle

5 out of 5 stars Great Stuff!.......2007-07-21

This is one of the most comprehensive boxed sets by the Four Seasons. Not only are the well-knowns hits in this collection, but some hard-to-find gems as well...

5 out of 5 stars A master class in the legacy of The Four Seasons........2007-07-17

This is all you will ever need. This has everything you want.
"Jersey Beat" is a perfect box set covering the careers of The Four Seasons and Frankie Valli. Like many people, after seeing the remarkable "Jersey Boys", I sought out some Four Seasons music, and ordered THIS.

Jackpot.

All important (and many peripherally interesting) songs are here, remastered as good as they're probably ever going to get. Big hits, B-Sides, those weird "Wonder Who" songs...they sound glorious.

The three CD's cover "Sherry" all the way to an unusual Four Seasons-Beach Boys "duet." And it's one heck of a ride. Those early singles have not lost an ounce of their power. The 70's songs...like "Who Loves You" and "December 1963"...also hold up surprisingly well.

Classic singles abound..."Walk Like A Man", "Dawn", "Rag Doll"...even slightly cheesy material like the solo "Swearin' To God" comes to life here. I discovered other tunes to love...like "Alone" and "Opus 17".

The fourth disc is a 40-minute video compilation of a bunch of their songs, performed on various TV shows over the 60's and 70's. I promise you that you will laugh out loud watching the strange, stilted choreography, the hilarious haircuts and riotous "fashions" of the era.

But those songs still hold up.

A terrific, thick booklet accompanies the set, with great liner notes.

This box set is a master class in the legacy of The Four Seasons.

I know I am not using this particular forum for its intended purpose, but I hope I can be forgiven. I am writing because I want to find a website or message board where I can communicate with Frankie Valli/Four Seasons fans. I have a particular question that I want to be able to post to a large number of fans at one time. So can someone please provide a website address or link where I can find such a message board. Thanks!

5 out of 5 stars Five star collection, with one gripe.......2007-07-14

"Jersey Beat...The Music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons" is a wonderful, thoughtfully put together box that finally gives the boys their long overdue credit. My only gripe with the box is that Disc One contains far too much mono where I know stereo exists, since I have owned other Rhino collections. At least they found the single version of "Save It For Me" rather than the underdub that appeared on their "Anthology" and the "Definitive Pop Collection". And the single version of "Swearin' To God" is the original single master, not the crudely done edit of the LP master that was on the other collections (where is Frankie Valli's "Close-Up" album on CD, with the 10- minute version of "Swearin' To God"????) And they finally found the stereo "Let's Hang On". But I have stereo versions of "Rag Doll" , "Walk Like A Man", "Big Girls Don't Cry", and other early hits, on earlier Rhino discs, as well as the Curb reissues of their albums from the early 90s. Why doesn't a label like Warner Brothers do proper tape vault research? (Rhino is now for all intents and purposes, Warner Strategic Marketing) Otherwise, this is probably the best compilation of their work I have ever heard, and, stereo quibbling aside, everyone should own it, and even if you're not a fan, after hearing this amazing collection, you will be.

I wouldn't consider myself one to purchase a Frankie and the Four Seaons CD (I mean look how dorky they look on the CD cover!) - but don't be decieved - this is a masterpiece.

"Lets hang on" has great hook and is one of my favorites. I got the CD coz I'd heard "December 1963" in the past, liked it but didn't know who performed it. One of the better purchases I've made in 2006.

4 out of 5 stars Memories of Westerns.......2007-03-09

This brings back memories of the westerns I saw as a child. High Noon, Rawhide etc...Frankie Laine has such a memorable voice that these songs by others just don't sound right. I grew up listening to "Hell Bent for Leather" and other records like, Marty Robbins and Johnny Horton.
(I did purchase two so I could give one as a gift.)
I really like the songs on this CD.

2 out of 5 stars Not up to scratch.......2007-01-18

While well produced, I was disappointed in the album - mostly because the majority of the tracks were re-recordings. Frankie Laine still sounds great - but it just wasn't the same.

I bought the CD to replace a well worn vinyl album, but on listening to the CD I found the songs to all be slightly (and in a couple of cases very), different in tempo and vocal inflection - it's definitely not the album I've loved for over 30 years! High Noon in particular is quite different, much slower, with vocal emphasis changed. I'll probably listen to the CD from time to time, but not with the same relish that I enjoyed my old LP.

5 out of 5 stars Only Frankie Laine Sings these Songs His Way.......2006-10-12

Frankie Laine made "High Noon" a legendary Western song with his unique voice full of bravado. "Rawhide" is yet another example of the staying power I think due in part to his interpretation and drive he delivered. "Gunfight At O.K. Corral" is just as impressive. This is a great collection. "Cool Water," "Muletrain," "The Green Leaves Of Summer," "North To Alaska" and "Ghost Riders In The Sky" are just outstanding.

4 out of 5 stars On the Trail.......2006-08-15

I grew through my early years listing to Frankie Lane songs and as I remembered his voice was very haunting and clear. So when I ordered this selection I was not disappointed.

3 out of 5 stars Good tunes, but not the original album.......2005-09-07

Unhappily this is not the original album. Some songs are remixed. High Noon was not as I remember it. Some songs are new.
I was a little disappointed, but I am enjoying most of the CD. It would have been a better value if it was the original album.

4 out of 5 stars Where sex and horror are the new gods.......2007-04-03

Frankie Goes To Hollywood was possibly the ultimate in created new wave bands. They made a huge controversial splash, charted one of the most successful singles in the history of the UK and flaunted their homosexuality so blatantly that the Village People would have been proud. "Welcome to the Pleasuredome" was one of the biggest selling double albums in Europe. "Frankie Say..." T-Shirts were everywhere. Brian DePalma directed their video. Then suddenly, it was over. Their second album, "Liverpool," sank like a rock, and the two major figures (Holly Johnson and Paul Rutherford) in the group embarked on minor solo careers. Even so, FGTH meteoric rise and just as rapid fall is marked by songs that still sound as anthemic and ridiculously over the top as they did in 1984-86. They even managed to capture a classic song, in the hedonist anthem "Relax."

That is what "Bang" captures. Thirteen songs are split nine from "Pleasuredome" and four from "Liverpool," each with Trevor Horn's kitchen sink productions and Holly Johnson's drama queen vocals. Horn, who had just started his ZTT label, had learned his lessons with Yes quite well. Both "Relax" and "Two Tribes" were huge sounding records that still have that grandiose distinctiveness of both progressive rock and Hi-NRG dance music. There was nothing else like them, and coupled with the hyper-aggressive marketing, nothing could resist their sonic onslaught.

Once you get past those two signature songs, it is amazing what Frankie had left to say. Granted, the lyrics were sometimes beyond bizarre ("here comes a supernova, what a push-over!"), but the ferocity of "Rage Hard" and the sheer sexuality of "Welcome To The Pleasuredome" do offer proof that the group did have a bit more to them than Horn and hype. The same can not necessarily be said of the band's choice of cover songs. While "Ferry Cross The Mersey" is lightweight enough that it sounds fine in the band's version (and I once read an interview where Gerry Marsden expressed his gratitude to FGTH for making it the B-Side to "Relax," making him an almost instant million in royalties), the decision to cover "Born To Run" seems more like an ego-disaster. Weird thing is FGTH still rock the crap outta the thing, even if Springsteen probably didn't lose any sleep over these guys nicking his signature song. As for Edwin Starr's "War," I always found it interesting that Springsteen covered it and released it as s single later on. Life can be funny that way.

That said, the thirteen songs here sound wonderful even now. The comic-book politics of "Two Tribes" (remember the great video of Ronald Reagan Vs Konstantin Chernenko?) and the uber-gay sexual pronouncements of "Relax" make you almost long for music that was happy to not play it safe, even if it meant your career was going to flame out.

PS. One small gripe. "Bang" has almost nothing by way of liner notes, even with the multifold graphics inlay card. it would have been nice to have a little perspective on the band from someone, maybe a member of even Trevor Horn.

2 out of 5 stars OK.. for the few hits that they have........2006-11-06

I originally bought the CD for 'Relax', which was a big hit in the 80's especially in England. With the exception of a few other hits, it doesn't have much to offer. I was looking forward to the re-makes of Bruce Springsteen's songs, but you can't compare. Basically, if you don't have the CD with 'Relax', then it might be worth it; otherwise there are better ways to spend your $$$. B

4 out of 5 stars Gotta have it!.......2005-08-09

Ron Hardy was a DJ in the Chicago area back in the early 80's. Welcome to the Pleasuredome was one of his theme songs. I had to have it. Oh my gosh, don't let me start singing "When Two Tribes Go To War". I'm lovin' it!

4 out of 5 stars When Two Tribes Go to War........2004-08-20

Exactly twenty years ago, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, led by the flamboyant Holly Johnson, was the hottest band to emerge from the UK. From their hit singles to their "Frankie Say Relax" t-shirts, FGTH was as much an attitude as they were a music group. Their songs, often produced by Tervor Horn, were elaborately produced, highly conceptualized, and had all the subtlety of a hand grenade. Not everyone, it must be said, was pleased with the group. And Johnson's coming out as a gay man did nothing to appease conservatives, either. But that didn't stop the hits from coming. Their debut single, the high-NRG "Relax," was banned from the UK airwaves for its explicit lyrics, despite going Number One and sitting comfortably in the Top Ten for several weeks. That song was unseated from Number One by the band's own followup, the politically charged "Two Tribes," whose video was also frowned upon. The third single, the killer ballad "The Power of Love" also went Number One, as did FGTH's debut album "Welcome to the Pleasuredome." But the success was short lived; 1986's "Liverpool" LP was a relative flop and the band called it a day shortly thereafter. Still, "Bang! The Greatest Hits of Frankie Goes to Hollywood," is a great snapshot of FGTH's brief career as a band. In addition to the previously mentioned singles, we get the full-length 13-minute "Welcome to the Pleasuredome," which is far more preferable than the edited single version, "Rage Hard," and their campy cover of Bruce Springsteen's classic "Born to Run." As a bonus, we also get the original, 7-minute mix of "Relax" as well as a 90's update of "Two Tribes." My only complaint is that the liner notes aren't as detailed as they should be. Even so, this disc is worth picking up. If nothing else, it's a welcome trip down 1980's memory lane.

5 out of 5 stars The Definitive Avalon Collection.......2006-01-26

Outstanding collection, with long forgotten gems like "Young and In Love," "Where Are You," "You Are Mine," and "Beach Party." Venus" was so successful that it overshadowed Avalon's other work, but many of his other songs are masterpieces of '60's pop!

5 out of 5 stars This Is All You Need!!!.......2005-02-22

This is a great cd set. People think this is just an expanded version of Varese's last Frankie Avalon cd set, theyre highly mistaken.

The tracks on this cd were ALL taken from the original first generation tapes where available, the master they used for Venus on this cd corrects the dropouts found on ALL previous cds, and the tape they used for this cd hadn't been played in over 40 years.

This cd also has some tracks in first time stereo, plus the very first cd issue of the original hit 45 rpm version of Two Fools. The later stereo version (which sounds totally different, but probably recorded around the same time) is on plenty of other cds, and varese was going to use it for this cd until myself and a few others persueded them to use the original 45 version.

At the time, I had been told that no 3-track tape exists for the original 45 version, so i assumed at the time that they were going to go with the mono version of the song because of it. When the discussion of using the mono hit vs. the stereo remake, the people who asked for the true 45 version on cd were given a lot of crap from those who wanted to have the song in stereo on the cd.

Well, the original 45 version of Two Fools made it onto this cd. That alone should make this cd worth buying as the 45 version is definitely superior to the later stereo re-recording. As an added bonus the 45 version does actually appear in a narrowed 2-track stereo mix, which should make the cd a winner for both those who wanted the 45 version on cd, and those who wanted the song in stereo on cd.

If you purchase this cd, there is not a need for any other Frankie Avalon hits package. If you own any other Frankie Avalon hits packages, throw them out and buy this one.

4 out of 5 stars Expanded anthology of Avalon's hit-making years.......2002-05-31

Avalon is often relegated to the status of pretty-boy teen-idol who, along with Fabian, Bobby Rydell and others, stood in for Elvis during his residency in the Army. But listening to this 25-track collection, it's clear that there was never any intention (by either Avalon or his management) to position the crooner as a rock 'n' roller. These hit singles, B-sides and non-charting album tracks show him to be a balladeer through-and-through; a handsome, capable pop Sinatra (though, surprisingly, Avalon fashioned himself more after Perry Como).

His first two hits, 1958's "De De Dinah" and "Ginger Bread" featured a nasal delivery that was dropped on the romantic follow-up, "I'll Wait For You." The ensuing string of hits, peaking with the chart-topping "Venus" and continuing through 1962's "You Are Mine," displayed tremendous charm. Non-threatening charm, to be sure -- how worried could parents be about a singer who covered "Tuxedo Junction"? -- but charm, nonetheless.

It's no surprise that Avalon was a favorite with adolescent girls (and a bane to the boys who chased them), singing puppy-love fare such as "Just Ask Your Heart," "Why," and "Too Young To Love," as well as romantic dreams like "A Perfect Love." Even the pathos of "Don't Let Love Pass Me By" was aimed more squarely at stirring his fans' romantic daydreams than motivating their pity.

The hit singles "Bobby Sox to Stockings" and "A Boy Without a Girl" (#8 and #10 A- and B-side of the same single!) are smoothly arranged, with polished backing vocals and polite drums that push the tempo without becoming raucous. The Don Costa arranged "You Are Mine" is spectacularly dramatic, and the sophisticated horn charts of "Swingin' on a Rainbow" lean to the Bobby Darin side of Las Vegas.

As the '50s turned into the '60s, Avalon's music followed him into his burgeoning film career. The title song from "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" wasn't a hit, but features a fantastic production to accompany the movie's plot. And closing this collection are a pair of tunes, "Beach Party" and "Don't Stop Now," from Avalon's first AIP beach party film. (Sadly missing is his stupendous turn as The Potato Bug, a fictional British Invasion pop star, from the film "Bikini Beach.").

The twenty-five tracks expand upon Varese's earlier collection, 1995's "The Best of Frankie Avalon," making this a significantly more complete anthology of Avalon's original sides. Those looking for more early material can fill in non-hit tracks with See for Miles' "The EP Collection."

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful - no other word for it.......2007-05-30

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. A must for both casual and die-hard Western fans. Great even if your sense of nostalgia doesn't reach that far back (like me; I'm 22). I love the combination of slow ballads and fast, jumpy songs.

5 out of 5 stars More Momories of Westerns.......2007-03-09

Boy, do these bring back memories of some of the Great Westerns of the 50's. We sit and listen to the songs and think of the movies and the TV shows that they are from. We can remember who starred in the movies and how the "Sons of the Pioneers" entered the stage to sing.
This is a GREAT CD.

5 out of 5 stars Old West Nostalgia.......2006-10-29

For anyone old enough to remember all the great Old West TV shows and movies from the same era, this CD is bound to bring you lots of fond memories and relaxing pleasure. What's best, the artists are all the originals; there are no remakes. Plenty of tunes are on this CD. It's well worth the price and the time.

1 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing.......2006-10-24

The quality of the samples is better than the quality of the recordings.

5 out of 5 stars I Look Toward Home.......2006-10-05

This album takes me back to Texas. "The Sons Of Katie Elder" sung by Johnny Cash and "Nevada Smith" sung by Merle Kilgore sound good but are a bit modern. "The Searchers" sung by the Sons Of The Pioneers really hits home. As the sun sets and the days grow short I ride away and I look toward home.
