Spurred by the success of "Inside Out" from the Smallville soundtrack, Vonray’s full-length major-label debut serves up big gobs of earnest, melodic rock. Like Eddie Vedder with less restraint, frontman Vaughan Rhea writes huge choruses and guitar riffs tailor-made for stadiums. It may be a familiar formula, but this band isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel. And while a lack of variety makes it tough to distinguish one song from the next, each is executed with polish and laser-guided hooks. Vonray’s uncomplicated, shiny rock is the ideal party warm-up for those who still hope Pearl Jam will someday make a sequel to Ten. --Matthew Cooke

5 out of 5 stars Great Band!!!!!!.......2006-02-09

I heard them first on the Smallville soundtrack, then went on to purchase their CD. Not really knowing what to expect other than the track from Smallville, "Inside Out", I was pleasantly surprised after my first listening. These guys ROCK!!! Loved every song first time played, especially fond of track 5, "I'm Learning". Other reviewers compare them to Pearl Jam, but I'd say their alot more like Creed or Candlebox. If you're into rock, you gotta here these guys. This is one CD that is worth every penny of the purchase price.

5 out of 5 stars Vonray is excellent..............2004-03-26

I had never heard of Vonray before purchasing this album. I have really enjoyed the whole CD. My favorite song on here is "Stranded". I really hope to hear more from these guys in the future.

4 out of 5 stars try their early stuff.......2004-02-23

If you like the sound of Vonray. You should try to get your hands on some of their early stuff. Hanging out in Orlando in the late nineties would have put "Von Ra" on your favorites list long ago, like it did me. The already put out 3 albums on their own. FAME is more of this same sound. PANES is a reissue of their self titled album with a couple of extra songs. If you can find copies of VON RA or PANES and you like a little mellower sound than their new stuff, you are in for a treat. It is absolutely my favourite album. #1 on my desert island list.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad.......2003-12-14

I learned about Vonray from poking around on Amazon.com and I must say that their songs have a very catchy rock style to them. My one complaint--and I think this was addressed on here--is that they are a bit repetitive. That is because 6 out of 11 songs on the CD are in the same key signature. There are 6 tracks in D#-/F#+, 3 tracks in Bb- and that leaves two tracks in diff keys. If they'd changed the keys on most of the songs to give more of a variety, the CD wouldn't be as repetitive. Maybe I'll try that. Anyone have a good MP3 editor for me???

5 out of 5 stars Excellent CD.......2003-11-21

I highley recommend picking up this CD and adding it to your collection. Great Lyrics and songwriting make this a very good album to listen to. I expect great things from this band in the future. I also recommend picking up the CD from Kutless.
