BUY THIS !!! You will smile : ).......2007-04-20
Been a huge Dada fan since Puzzle & Dizz Knee Land (which was originally titled Disneyland on the pressing. Disney sued due to the "violent" nature of the subject matter, and subsequent issuances were re-spelled to pacify Disney (now a promoter of some far,far worse content in thier media). IMHO this is the best trio, if not the best band to come out of the 90's. It is very sad that they did not meet with more financial success. But they have put out music that is unequalled in it's muscianship, and complexity & simplicity at the same time.
I saw them live 1 time, at Ziggy's in Winston-Salem NC in 2004. It was an amazing night I'll never forget. Michael Gurley was there playing with the flu, no less, what dedication! They sounded flawless.
This CD is a great capture of thier in concert ability.
Joie Calio's performance of "Moon" is alone worth more than the price of the CD.
I find myself at a loss for words to describe the talent this trio exhibits......
Captures the live experience.......2007-01-10
This CD aptly captures the live vibe of this talented band. As the band's first live album, the clarity of sound does justice to the complex musicianship and strong songwriting. The song selection is well balanced and shows off dada's considerable range and talent. A great live album from a brilliant live band.
Modern Sanatanaesque.......2005-02-04
I saw dada in concert a year ago and have been a dada fanatic ever since. This is the first album I bought (at the concert). I love this album, but didn't become a dada fanatic until I bought their 5 studio albums. You can get most of their albums here, but should check out their store at dadatheband.com since some are cheaper there (several of their albums are sold out there so you need to get them here). This album is best for someone who loves dada already or loves to watch Santana in concert, for example. With this album you get a nine minute version of Ask The Dust, a drum solo that moves into their song Posters and audience participation with their two anthem songs - Feel Me, Don't You #$@ and Here Today, Gone Tomorrow. You also get a wonderful live versions of Dizz Knee Land and A Trip With My Dad. These three musicians are phenomenal. If you don't own any dada music, start with Puzzle. You can get the used IRS version cheap, but they have a new release with bonus tracks that you'll want to pick up later (so you may want to start with those anyway). All of their albums, including their solo albums are fantastic. If you like 60s psychedelic music, then pick up How To Be Found. I think their albums dada and El Subliminoso have more of a Alternative/Modern Rock feel, and American Highway Flower has a slight southern rock feel. All of them are 90s alternative with superior musicianship and harmonies.
My Friend Joey C.......2004-06-17
Hello, I became a fan in 92 when a stereo store clerk demoed the new "DADA - Puzzle" CD for me. I went to see them open for STING in SEATTLE the following year and met the Band at a bar where they played again that night. They were even better in that dark, crappy little club! They were very approachable and signed autos & CDs. 5 years later my friend calls and says she just got hired as a nanny for this bass player from LA that just moved to Seattle. NO WAY! I got to come over and hang out with Joey Calio @ his house and we started Mountain Biking 5-6 times a mo. Well it's been 5 years since then and I am still a huge fan! I just went to see my friend in another dark, crappy Seattle Club. And I bought This CD plus the New Joey Calio & New DADA studio CDs, and Joey & the band signed them all! I play them all the time. GREAT guyz & Great Musicians! Buy all thier music! ;-)
Perfectly captured.......2004-06-16
This is a band that was sorely overlooked in part because of their record company's demise. They truly have it all.. songwritting, great vocals and excellent musicianship. Unfortunately I've never seen them live however this cd does a great job of capturing them fleshing out some of their best songs. It is a good introduction to this trio.

The Double Trio hits the ground running........2007-05-21
King Crimson has historically been a band that's always been better live than on record, and the Double Trio lineup of the '90s in many ways exemplifies this. Consisting of two guitar trios (guitarists Robert Fripp and Adrian Belew, bassists/stick players Tony Levin and Trey Gunn and drummers Bill Bruford and Pat Mastelotto-- essentially a fusion of the '80s Crimson and the Sylvian/Fripp touring band), it seems that in the studio there was a bit too much of a tendency towards restraint, but when spread out on a stage, the band was able to really cut loose and could be really overwhelming-- certainly it was for me, the first of four shows I saw of them nearly 12 years ago still stands out as the greatest rock concert I've ever seen.
In any event, after doing some studio recordings, Fripp and company hit the road, playing a series of shows in Argentina. "B'boom" is a compilation of these shows, showcasing some new material and reachign back into the band's catalog for some old. For a little over 100 minutes, this group, which was still not what they would be, tears it up.
Everything here is absolutely fantastic-- showcasing the muscular stances of the band ("VROOOM", "Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part II") but also their flexibility ("Sex, Sleep, Eat, Drink, Dream") and energy ("Indiscipline"). Along the way, there's fantastic readings of old favorites like "Frame by Frame", what may be the definitive takes on "Red" and "Heartbeat", the latter in particular, always a song that seems to be lacking, picks up an unexpected, noisy extra guitar part that really carries it.
Another note-- even a decade after its release as I write this review, I can't help but marvel at the sound of this recording-- crisp and clean and well balanced, loud and up front, all six instrumentalists can be distinctly and clearly heard. "B'boom" really set the standard for the live album.
Remarkable as this record is, I actually think it pales compared to where the band would be in a year or two, as illustrated by "VROOOM VROOOM", but there's a lot to love here. Highly recommended.
The King lives.......2007-02-08
The band's first live shows in ten years and the first to feature the Double Trio. This wasn't originally meant to be released however, due to bootleg versions being put out, Robert decided to release this after the fact. The show starts off with Vrooom from their newest ep and is quickly followed by Frame By Frame from 1981's Discipline. Next, we get another new song Sex, Sleep, Eat, Drink, Dream performed as well as the earlier songs. Red comes blazing out in full glory. One Time is a pretty ballad from the Vrooom ep. B'Boom and Thrak are great instrumentals. Improv-Two Sticks features Tony Levin and Trey Gunn going at it big time. Elephant Talk and Indiscipline take us back to Discipline again. Vrooom Vrooom is another great new instrumental. Matte Kudasai is one of the most beautiful ballad played sweet. From here we go to the Larks album for The Talking Drum and Larks, Tongues In Aspic which rock out loud. Heartbeat starts with a beautiful introduction played by Robert Fripp. Sleepless is as always cool. We end the release with three new songs People, B'Boom(reprise), and Thrak. This is an excellent release and is a fine live album.
Get Heavy Construkction instead........2005-12-04
This is the first concert of this incarnation; as a result, they haven't really found their groove yet and are basically playing the straight versions of the songs. It's actually a very good record, nonetheless, but I can't recommend it given that Heavy Construkction provides much better live versions of most of the same songs and, unless you're simply a completist, there's not really any reason to have both.
excellent live disc.......2005-02-14
quick review just to say that this 2-disc set is amazing, and definitely worthy of a purchase by any fan of the mighty King Crimson.
i also wanted to correct amazon's tracklisting. they list 6 tracks, when in fact, this is the proper track list:
disc 1:
Vrooom
Frame By Frame
Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream
Red
One Time
B'Boom
Thrak
Two Sticks Improv
Elephant Talk
Indiscipline
disc two:
Vrooom Vrooom
Matte Kudasai
The Talking Drum
Larks' Tounges In Aspic Part 2
Heartbeat
Sleepless
People
B'Boom Reprise
Not for everyone..........2001-11-30
Okay, the more recent VROOOM VROOOM compilation probably gives a better look at what the "Double Trio" version of King Crimson was capable of; but this "official bootleg" is a snapshot of time. Specifically, it shows this band, a collection of overwhelmingly-skilled professionals, beginning to find its identity _as_ a band. Some of the playing is unaccustomedly sloppy for a King Crimson - which is to say, up to the higest standards set by most other bands. The repertoire is terrifying, both in the difficulty of some of the numbers and the sheer noise level of others. The first time I heard "THRAK" on disc 1 - which was the first time I ever heard "THRAK" at all, as I hadn't then picked up the Double Trio's studio work - I wasn't sure it was music; it went beyond dissonance to another place entirely.
The Crimson of the 1990s and early 2000s has reinvented the concept of heavy metal - not, please, "speed metal" (though there are some blinding solos on some tracks, and especially in the material introduced in the 2000 album "The ConstruKction of Light"), but dark, grinding, distorted slabs of metallic sound. Interspersed with this we find some of the gamelan-influenced pieces of the '80s Crim, a very few tracks from the "Lark's" band (including the heaviest piece of metal ever recorded, "Red"), and the simply funky new song, "People."
Unquestionably from the "not for everyone" department, but if you like this kind of thing you'll love "B'boom."

Customer Reviews:
Bodacious boot by the classic lineup.......2005-12-02
I purchased this official bootleg with skepticism, wary of what the sound quality might be. Other than the vocals being a bit distant, the audio fidelity on this 32 year old recording ROCKS!
Mountain has always been much better live than on their studio recordings. Leslie, Corky, and Felix blaze through a raucous set, including an improvised solo of Jingle Bells (!)
Having seen many live shows at the now defunct Capitol Theater, this set holds some sentimental value for me. It is a treat for any hardcore Mountain fan. Highly recommended.
Careful with this one.......2005-07-23
Big Mountain fan here and have been enjoying the bootleg releases that have surfaced lately from the archives of Corky and Leslie's personal stash. I purchased this one however and I am very disappointed. It stated it was recorded Live in New Jersey in 1973. I already own the Mountain Greatest Hits Live (King Biscuit Flower Hour)which is said to be recorded the same place only a year later. The recordings on this disk are the very same as the ones on the Mountain greatest hits live disk. However The King Biscuit Flower Hour sounds better and has more songs as well. Very disappointed in this one. It should have the dates correctly stated to avoid the confusion. I certainly did not need to spend the money i forked over for this one. The music is very good but king biscuit is the better buy by far. Crossroader is also listed as a song on the bootleg version but is nowhere to be heard on the disk though.

Great Music, Terrible Sound.......2006-07-02
I wish that the sound on the CD was anywhere close to "Flowers of Evil", if it had been I would have given it 5 stars. The music is really great live Mountain - maybe the best I've heard, but the sound is terrible.
"best played loud".......2006-04-08
ok, this ain't your sonicly perfect CD but if you close your eyes and imagine you're surrounded by people you can pretend you are AT the concert.
The song mix is great but the best is "dreams of milk and honey/dream sequence" - it's not as good as the one from Isle of Wight but it still kicks [...].
If you like mountain, and you want to hear them when they were young and full of hard charging energy then buy this CD. And go see them now - Leslie and Corky are STILL touring and they still can kick some serious [...]! ;)
For Mountain Fans.......2006-01-10
I purchased this cd for the express purpose of hearing "Dreams of Milk & Honey/Dream Sequence." It wasn't bad, but the "Flowers of Evil" version is much better. Like the other reviewers, I saw the original line-up three times. Mountain live was awesome. If they opened for a more prominent act, I would have hated to go on after them. "Nantucket Sleighride" has been performed better on other cds. However, "Mississippi Queen" and "Silverpaper" are extended versions and are quite excellent. At their best, Mountain was always a guitar fueled, jam band. This cd, while quite good, should not be one's introduction to Mountain. As for Steve Knight, I read somewhere, that he and the other band members did not get along well. Thus you rarely hear of him and his contributions to the band. I agree "PLAY THIS MUSIC LOUD."
The best.......2005-10-30
music...the live..
here and all bootlegs a pleasure of improvisation...
and that since the 70's...
More!!
Great for fans, not for casual purchasers.......2005-10-14
Great performance featuring all the usual favourites. Sound quality is good without being brilliant but the main failing of this and all the others in the series is the packaging. I know it's an official bootleg but we should be getting more than bootleg-level packaging. At least on this CD we know who the band are (some of the later volumes are more a Leslie West solo show but it's difficult to tell as there are never any personnel details). This performance highlights the contribution Steve Knight made to the sound. He always seems to be the forgotten one compared to Leslie, Felix and Corky but shouldn't be. Whatever happened to him?

Album Description
When I find myself stuck in the restrictions of my idea of who I think I am supposed to be I have to force my self to stop and look at who I really am. For the past ten years I have voiced my lyrics through many different bands and many different styles. All of which I learned from and loved. Some were not as true to me as I wanted them to be and some fit like the friends they were. I decided this past year to go back to my initial baby instincts I had when I started writing ten years ago, the simplistic approach of honesty. I am sharing with you a live recording that is filled with my exploration of this step. So please forgive me for all the mistakes and flaws this raw and vulnerable recording holds. I give you my heart, which is undoubtedly "IMPERFECT"
Customer Reviews:
Beautiful.......2006-10-10
This album is just amazing, i love Amy Jo's voice, i really do. what can i say? i'm her fan.
She masters her voice and her guitar, and she manages to do it in a beautiful way that sucks you into her world.
I wish we'd been given more than just 9 songs!
There's just one thing i really don't like about this album, and it's that girl in the audience that screams like a hyena at the end of almost every song. i can't stand her.
5 stars to this album, no doubt.
AMAZINGLY ENCHANTING!!!.......2006-06-28
This album takes a complete spin from her first album with everything performed imtimately through acoustic sound. I can't get enough of this album! The first day I got it, it was all I could listen to for two weeks straight and what I have to stop and listen to when I set my ipod on random select. Her words, voice, and music is just simply as beautiful as she is. I can't get enough of any of it. It's definitely a cd you put on when you just want to mellow out and think... I love it and I know other people would love it too!
Relaxing.......2006-05-19
I received this as an Easter gift from my parents and I was eager to listen to it. I had totally loved AJ's first CD and was hoping this one was just as good.
It met my expectations. I loved her voice and the acoustic melody, and the lacing of the journal entries between tracks. However, this CD is not really for those who don't much like acoustic. My mom heard me listening to it and called it "mood music", which is true. Amy Jo is also one of those people you have to listen to a few times before you can truly appreciate her, but after you do you're hooked. Her voice is like nothing I've ever listened to before, and it's certainly mesmerizing.
Simply Perfect.......2005-08-16
Great Songs, Lovely voice. You can't go wrong with Amy Jo Johnson's new album. Two words describe this album. Simply Perfect.
Perfectly imperfect.......2005-04-04
Amy's comments about her CD are dead on. I've been listening to this CD for about 4 days straight now. More than just about any other CD I've listened to, there is a feeling of vulnerability, of the artist really letting us into her soul for better or worse.
It's a one take live performance, so everything isn't studio correct, but that's part of the beauty of this album. Listening to this reminds me of some of the early small venues I saw Tara McLean in when she was doing the small club/coffee shop tours. Those are special moments, that you look back on and cherish.
If you like acoustic performances, just voice and guitar, of someone laying themselves out and saying "this is who I am", then you should get this CD.

David Lindley Live.......2006-04-09
The disc sounds just like the concert tour I saw, and both are amazing
Keep Lookin...........2005-03-09
It can be a bit frustrating searching out Lindley's best stuff these days. His 80's El Rayo-X years are well represented and usually at a good deal, but for his wealth of recent "solo" material recorded first with Hani Naser and then with Wally Ingram you need to go to a show (best choice!), or surf over to his website, davidlindley.com, where the action really is. These duo (guitar and drum) formate recordings are surprisingly full sounding and wonderfully musical and entertaining. I'm glad amazon at least has a few later recordings listed as imports. They are all good. (I give this one 4 stars due to sound quality, but it is an official bootleg after all, some of it from the tapes taken from bootleggers caught I presume in the crowd.). More power to you Mr. Dave, long may you strum.....
Deep Well.......2004-08-24
I owe Dylan heaps, and not just for helping me mature during the late 1960s. According to Robbie Robertson, Dylan accelerated The Band to full maturity too. But more musicians than I dare to count have passed through his various incarnations. And, keen to look around corners, I trailed after Doug Sahm, Norman Blake, & David Lindley, to name a few from which I've profited. Which brings me multi-instrumentalist, Lindley. Briefly, much as I like the Ex-Rayo CDs, its the first Madagascan CD, this live set & another (unlisted here) called 'Twango Bango' which are worth seeking out. This last, obtained from Lindley at a Blues Fest near Brisbane, Aust. a few years back, roars to life on track 4 with,'Coot From Tennessee' and segues through a tender reading of,'Do You want my Job', van Zandt's,'I am a Patriot," & a stunning version of the Dylan/O'Keefe,'Well,Well,Well.' At 70 minutes plus, it's a concert's worth of praiseworthy interpretations of unjustly lesser known works by some stellar artists. The musianship is stunning. Lindley's reedy tenor plaintively pitched just above his stringed things, is the perfect foil to the lush variety of skin man, Wally Ingram's superlative drumming.
Catchy live album by two-man band.......2002-06-04
I was loaned this by a friend, after raving about the Kaiser-Lindley "World Out of Time" Madagascar series. This is a live album by guitarist David Lindley and percussionist Hani Naser. They are the only two musicians. The songs are largely from Lindley's back catalog, including some El Rayo-X cuts. The music has an old-timey blues feel, with several songs sounding like they could have been written a century ago. Lindley's voice is a cross between Levon Helm of the Band and "O Brother, Where Art Thou". He's playing acoustic, with a fair amount of slide. My favorite track is the office-party luau "Tiki Torches at Twilight". I'm not sure I want to know what "She Took Off My Romeos" is about--sounds awfully Bobbitt-y--but it's a very catchy song. And what a compliment, to tell a woman that Hitler would have loved her "More Than Eva Braun". There's also a Warren Zevon cover, "Play It All Night Long". This CD is well worth checking out, so "let's all get normal at the luau".
Live David Lindley!.......2001-11-30
I bought this CD at a performance. David Lindley is a national treasure, one who can pick up a stringed instrument and play. He is great on this album, with acoustic tunes from El Rayo-X and others. It is available on his web site along with several other live albums. All are worth a listen.
