This is a reissue of Elvis Presley's first "greatest hits" album, with six bonus tracks added. Everyone knows these songs. You want them, you need them, you love them. Seriously, this is a great compilation of Elvis' early years (1954 to 1957). You can't go wrong with this one.

Intro to Elvis' best years.......2004-09-03

The Complation Elvis' Gold Records contains 14 of Elvis'gold records. This 1958 complation covers the first couple of years at RCA. Gold Records contains some of Elvis' best known songs. Love Me Tender, Hound Dog, Heartbreak Hotel, Teddy Bear, Jailhouse Rock, All Shook Up, and Don't Be Cruel are among the 14 songs represented, as well as 7 more songs, not as well known these days but, Gold Records is a very good introduction to the music of Elvis Presley, and maybe the only Elvis album that some fans will need.

Absolutely classic........2002-01-09

Who doesn't know these recordings? Forty five years since the majority of these songs were recorded, the first volume of Elvis' greatest hits can still be heard every day on radio, television, films, commercials and in every karaoke bar the world over. Such is the lasting appeal of pop music's greatest star and the sheer quality of the songs themselves. There hasn't been a better pop song written than Don't Be Cruel, while the atmospheric Heartbreak Hotel still has the same impact when played today as it did in 1956 - an astonishing vocal performance by a barely 21 year old singer on the verge of greatness. I enjoy Elvis' recordings from his entire career - the best of his 60s and 70s output equals the material on this CD - but for pure fun and enjoyment, it has to be Golden Records volume 1 every time.

The best for any Elvis fan!.......2001-09-09

If you are planning to start collecting Elvis music, this is a must-have! It has all of the the early hits including his first record "That's All Right, Mama". Sales on "Elvis' Golden Records" were continuning to boost throughout the years, and this has been awarded sextuple platinum by RIAA, as of Aug. 1999.
I'm 14 and one of the few young Elvis fans in the world, and I love this CD! While you're at it, collect the other Golden Record voulmes.

THE GREATEST ROCK N ROLL ALBUM OF ALL TIME!.......2000-12-12

I know that some will disagree, but who cares? This IS the beginning of the ROCK era and after Elvis, nothing was the same. I'm not into giving musical history lessons, but this music and his SUBLIME voice shine thru.......oh, yeh, Its even better than the overly overrated Beatles 1 cd!

Excellent collection of his post-Army comeback hits!.......2007-07-21

This is an excellent collection of Elvis' post-Army hits from 1960 to 1962! Released in 1963, it was a big hit in the US climbing to number 3 on the album chart and eventually being certified PLATINUM by the RIAA! It includes five songs that hit number 1 on the US singles chart (It's Now Or Never, Stuck On You, Surrender, Are You Lonesome Tonight?, and Good Luck Charm) and four others that made the top 5 (I Feel So Bad, (Marie's The Name Of) His Latest Flame, Little Sister, and She's Not You). The rest were also top 40 hits. Not a bad song in the bunch! However, I wish they had included some bonus tracks, there is plenty of room left on this CD.

Elvis first compilation album.......2007-06-14

I was introduced to Elvis through this album. This was the very first album I heard from Elvis at the age of 12 back in 1986 and it blew my world. I haven't been the same since.This and other Elvis albums were at my house for many years. One day, for pure curiousity, I picked this album because of its cover. I love that colorful cover.I clean the dust off, and placed it on the turntable and bang. The greatest musical experience of my life had just begun.The songs from this album sounded to me liked something from out of this world. It was like nothing I had ever listened before. This album is a collection of Elvis first and best years when he was considered a menace to our society. I'm glad that I discovered this album back then.It meant alot to me. I listen to it every now and then (because I own an original vynil copy from 1958 and I would like to preserve it). If you would like to know how Elvis sounded liked in his golden years, this is the album to own. I highly reccomend this to any new or casual fan. I can guarrante you won't be dissapointed.
