4 out of 5 stars As long as you understand..........2007-02-24

that this is not a funk album, but a pop album with a funk element to it.
This is the type of pop music that the media and people should be paying attention to and giving their money to.

This is a great party album that you can throw on from the beginning to the end. Even the couple slow songs have a nice party feel to them.

Rock and Pop music has turned into an empty shell of itself in the last 10 years or so. 33hz is a band that represents a time when mainstream music was about people who could write, compose, and actually play their instruments well. When the industry was run by true music lovers who were passionate about being original and giving the audience something new and exciting.

Now it's run by a bunch of Harvard business grads that care just about the almighty dollar. They find a formula with the main importance on image, publicity, & merchandising. They copy it & force feed it to us as much as they can, & for as long as they can. They have created an "American Idol/Britney Spears/Rascall Flatts" generation...which is disgraceful.

On a side note, Tim Wagner (the keyboardist) used to do a radio show called Essential Grooves at a college in my hometown. He would play a variety of obscure to well known funk tunes. That was so cool...I miss that radio show.

5 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good..very good indeed.......2007-02-17

I didnt know what to expect from 33hz prior to buying the album because, well I've never heard of them. I felt like buying something completely random. What I found was a refreshing elctro-pop fusion album which I havent heard since say, ever, but has touches of quincey jones influenced Michael Jackson, throw some Rick James in there, has a touch of slow rhythm beats of R&B like R Kelly which I dont particularly listen to but this sounds good! Hell even Gino Soccio discoish stuff. Has a flair of prince lyric style. Bottom line its hard to feel down or in a bad mood when this album is rolling. Im definitely not a dancer but I find myself doing all sorts of foolish body movements without shame.

....combine with one part "Black Cow", mix in some "beautiful women dancing like crazy", let it simmer, throw in half amount of yaallo, bring to a boil and voila - freshly made 33Hz. Enjoy!

I work for the clothing retailer Aeropostale and this is the 2nd month we have had a 33hz song on our store cd and we have the BEST time when they come on, it gets us moving! It reminds me of old school skating rink music, I LOVE IT!!!!

I knew the lead singer to 33 HZ back in the day when he was planning and scheming... getting ready to drop a bomb like this. Anyone who says this album isn't catchy and fun is literally insane!
