Camouflage's "Sensor" is a very good synth pop album, but it falls short of earning "5" stars. There are a couple reasons for this: the singers, though decent, aren't good enough to "wow" or interest me, and the album just lacks songs that are good enough to, again, "wow" me. If you've listened to this album and have heard many Pet Shop Boys albums, then you would know what I mean. Every song here is good, but it just lacks a great one. Also, like I said before, the singers are good, but they aren't "great" either - they at least fit the music somewhat (they become a little cheesy in spots, too). The lyrics tend to be pretty easy to hear, though they aren't "that" interesting anyway. Musically the album is essentially a throwback to the sound of 80's synth pop, and considering Camouflage WAS an 80's synth pop group then this makes sense. If you liked their older albums or 80's synth pop in general, then you're in business. Overall, I think that Camouflage and synth pop fans will like this CD a lot, but, at the end of the day, I would argue that it isn't great enough to be hailed as a "classic". Still, this is highly recommended!

I know this cd is now two years old...but I never get tired of
listening to it.....

This is a great cd it is worth the import price.

Been listening to them since Voices And Images and I felt they had some less than good material since then..but this is the best ever.

I hardly ever write reviews. But this one was such a positive surprise! I bought it on the strengths of the reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. Overall the album is somewhat mellow, but that's a good thing. Camouflage's sounds matured - the production is top notch and the compositions are excellent. A very solid album.

Unbelievable!.......2005-04-17

What a surprise! I had listened to an old Camouflage release, and took a chance on Sensor. I would say it sounds like a great combo of 25% Gary Neuman, 25% Depeche Mode, 50% Cause and Effect. I enjoyed every track, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a 21st century refresh of our most revered 80's alternative sounds.
