Led by the effervescent singer Pearl E. Gates, and in the grand San Franciscan tradition of theatrical rock (e.g Tubes), Pearl Harbour & the Explosions, um, exploded on to the late-‘70s SF scene and landed a contract with Warner Brothers, for whom they recorded this, their only LP. You couldn’t ask for a better portrait of the red-hot late-‘70s Bay Area club scene than this—produced by David Kahne, the record has a little bit of everything stylistically with no-holds-barred attitude to spare courtesy of Ms. Gates. Unfortunately, it came out on the same day as the Pretenders’ debut and never caught fire commercially, but we’re thrilled to put it out complete with new liner notes. Includes "Drivin’," "You Got It (Release It)," "Don’t Come Back," "Keep Going," "Shut Up and Dance," "Big One," "So Much for Love," "(Get a) Grip (on Yourself)" and "Up and Over." Pearl Harbour's best album ever !!!!!.......2001-09-20

You can't go wrong with Pearl's "Here comes trouble" ! It rocks from start to finish with no filler. Great singing from Pearl and fabulous playing from her top notch band. This is her definitive album. I don't know why this album wasn't a hit on the radio ?! It's ready made for it in all the right ways. I sure wished that she would record a brand new album. Pearl, where ever you are please record a new album and return to playing live again.

Great record, they dont have any bad songs that i've heard. Puts on a great show also! You were great at the hootinanny in '98, and the cramps show at the House of Blues later that year!! Sexy red white and blue outfit, at the former! You can be my hoochie-mama any time you want!

Not a bad song on the whole album. Pearl at her very best ! It rocks from the start to finish!! Why this album isn't played on the radio is a mystery to me ?! You won't be disappointed with "Here Comes Trouble".

Pearl and her boys from San Francisco are the best! If you've never seen them live here in SF, you have missed the boat!!!!! These guys rock like there's no tomarrow.

Contains the album 'The Clash'(original UK track listing) and a bonus CD single containing 'Gates of the West' and 'Groovy Times' which was included as a bonus 7-inch on the original Japanese LP pressing! Comes housed in a cardbaord sleeve. CBS. 2004.

Special Limited Edition in an LP Sleeve Replica with the Original Red and Yellow Japanese Artwork of their Debut LP, with the Title "Pearl Harbor '79" Across the Top and Whose Tracklist Most Resembles the USA Edition. Also Includes a Bonus CD featuring the Tracks from the Seven Inch Vinyl Single which was Included in the First LP Edition that Had 'gates of the West', and 'groovy Times'.

Clash's Best Album Just Got Even Better!, .......2007-07-15

This Japanese mini-lp replica version of Clash's best album is simply a work of art! Very beautifully designed with all the lyrics included and with a sound quality remastered to perfection.
This is by far the best version of this album that is out there; great sound quality, great packaging, great songs! A must have in any CD collector's library.

Heavy metal bombast.......1999-05-12

This "review" is primarily to inform would-be buyers of this CD that the band is a heavy metal group, and bears no relation to the new wave/rockabilly singer Pearl Harbour. They spell their name without the "u." I learned the hard way by paying eleven bucks for it. Don't make the same mistake I did - that is, unless you are looking for some third=rate heavy metal. And it would be nice if some enterprising record company actually re=released the REAL Pearl Harbour albums from the early 1980's. They contained some great pop and rockabilly influenced songs.
