It may be an overstatement to suggest that Escapology gives us Brit singer-songwriter Robbie Williams in his pensive phase. But there's no doubt that the tone of the album is less mercurial and irreverent than the Williams of old. That's not a bad thing--the anti-celebrity sentiments expressed in "Monsoon" are commendable for their frankness. When Williams sings, "I'm here to make money and get laid/ Yeah, I'm a star but I'll fade," you get the sense he's been doing more in L.A. than chasing tail around the Standard Hotel. Williams is positively pessimistic in the should-we-or-shouldn't-we-break-up song "Sexed Up" and the heavy hearted "Love Somebody." The winding, storybook saga of "Me and My Monkey"--with its myriad pop culture references and dreamscape imagery--cries out for video treatment, as directed by Gus Van Sant. Elsewhere, the cheekiness of old appears in the L.A. anthem "Hot Fudge." Still, even when he's lyrically downcast, Williams's heavily manicured pop-rock draws stealth from orchestration and outstanding playing all around. Could this be bad-boy Williams all grown up? Perfect Christmas Music.......2005-12-27

I've owned this for years and never tire of it. Guests ALWAYS ask what I'm playing. I've purchased several copies as gifts. If you're sick of the stuff they play in malls and pine for some big, inspiring, classical arrangements, this is the CD for you.

Best Christmas CD!!.......2004-11-16

I love the traditional carols on this CD. The Carol of the Bells is my favorite!! I also love Silent Night which is one of my all time favorite Christmas carols. This album is great to put on a at a Christmas party and hit repeat. It has a nice mix of songs that you don't get tired of hearing! This is a must have and I would highly recommend this CD for anyone that enjoys Christmas songs and the holiday season. You will catch yourself humming the songs through out your day! It will definitely get rid of any "BAH HUM BUG" moods!

Excellent Symphonic Christmas Album.......2001-12-22

I was looking for arrangements of many traditional Christmas carols done by orchestras. This album hits the spot. It is not uniquely orchestra carols, the Canadian Brass is mixed in as welll. The highlight of the album for me is the back to back track of "Sleigh Ride" pieces. It begins with W.A. Mozart's "Sleigh Ride," followed by Leopold Mozart's piece of the same name, and then finnished with the ever popular arangement of "Sleigh Ride" by Anderson. It is a really good mix of carols, and can be listened to for hours.

"Hommage à André Mathieu" est vraiment un coup de maître du pianiste Alain Lefèvre. Il a donné ses lettres de noblesse à André Mathieu 1929-1968, pianiste et compositeur Québécois dit "Le Mozart Québécois". À l'âge de 4 ans il composait des pièces plus élaborées que Mozart à la même âge. Il a été applaudit en Europe et en Amérique, il a fait salle comble trois fois en un an au Canegie Hall de New-York dans le commencement des années quarantes. Albert Einstein a dit de lui qu'il était un extraordinaire exemple du génie à l'état pur et Sergei Rachmaninoff a dit qu'il était son digne successeur. Mais malheureusement à cause d'une histoire qui m'échappe, il tomba dans l'alcool, ce qui hypothéqua sa vie. J'aime cet album pour ses pièces inédites et le Concerto de Québec joué au piano seul fait mieux comprendre le génie de Mathieu par la virtuosité du pianiste Québécois Alain Lefèvre qui a travaillé très fort à faire toute cette recherche colossale pour faire revivre enfin Mathieu. 5 fois Bravo!!!!!

I believe Mathieu's compositions are as colourful, romantic, and passionate as his admirer Sergei Rachmaninoff. Lefevre delivers yet another great CD and we can expect his refreshing attitude towards music and life will continue to fuel inpiration for more amazing recordings.
