The cyber-centric title of Jethro Tull's 25th collection of new music is cause for pause. Ye olde art-rock band dropping au courant lingo into their songs from the wood? Ian Anderson intoning with characteristic gravity: "Punch my name and in case you wonder / I'll be yours / Yours dot com"? Hmmm. What would that poor old sod Aqualung think? Get past the notion that these fixtures of prog-rock have hit upon the dubious notion of using an album title as a billboard for their Web site, however, and you've got a collection that will leave Tull true believers contented. The group's inimitable hard rock and otherworldly folk brew makes no less--or more--sense now than it did when the group emerged with such unlikely hits as the aforementioned Aqualung and 1972's Thick as a Brick, which consisted of one 43-minute song spread over two sides of a record. If they could pull that off, these durable graybeards can find love on the Internet. --Steven Stolder

3 out of 5 stars Jethro Tull - 'J-Tull Dot Com' (Varese Sarabande) 3 1/2 stars.......2007-02-07

Review no.169. Cannot believe how many customer reviews there are posted of this, later-day 1999 Jethro Tull effort. But, that was before I listened to this disc all the way through. I was amazed at how good this CD turned out to be. It's well-written, well produced and the music is extremely well played. To get right to the point, Ian Anderson and crew STILL has it, very much so. So many nicely penned tracks here, like the uptempo "Nothing At All", "Hunt By Numbers", the laid back "El Nino", "Black Mamba", the ethnic "Mango Surprise" and "Far Alaska" (superb flute work). Not a bad pick, not bad at all.

4 out of 5 stars Tull rocks again at last!.......2006-12-08

At last Ian gives Martin some space to riff rock. Of course JTull never limited itself to being just another band that had to rock in order to make a point, but if your most famous song(Aqualung) rocks then obviously that's the kind of song that the fans want to hear from your band. Sure if you've got wonderfully poetic lyrics then by all means back it up with folk, classical or jazzy tunes. But since the majority of Ian's lyrics are simple musings on the mysterious and the mundane then at least half the time you've got to rock! And after about 20 years of albums that generated little if any excitement, J-Tull.Com restores the Tull claim to rock stardom.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome .... but flush the hot mangos.......2006-04-29

This is a solid release from Ian and the boys. However he should have flushed the hot mangos in the final cut. El Nino is an excellent hard rocker and AWOL establishes their prog leanings. Solid musicianship throughout this great CD. A fool made the comment that this band could not handle the Tull's early music in concert. I don't believe this after hearing this cd.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Jethro .......2006-04-14

What is the magic of Jethro Tull? Thats the question for decades... but this cd represent five six or more stars. Buy it!

4 out of 5 stars The first sign of Ian Anderson's resurgence.......2006-03-07

Anyone who appreciated Rupi's Dance and The Secret of Language of Birds will also like J-Tull.com. For reasons I have not discovered, Ian Anderson is producing great music once again, music to rival or exceed the high points of the 1970s.

This album is a notable achievement, and heavy! You gotta love the powerchords Mr. Barre deals out. This is a long CD with much to admire and Tull fans get their money's worth.

And if there is any remaining doubt, go ahead and buy the CD and listen for yourself. You will thank me later.
