If you want the feel of classic Rockabilly with all of the advantages of modern recording techniques buy this one. This is a GREAT body of the Rockabilly genre brought forward into our day.

Harder and Faster than Rockabilly, but not quite Psychobilly.......2004-12-22

I have listened to this disc pretty regularly since I first picked it up a few months back. The Hillbilly Hellcats write great 2-3 minute songs with strong riffs and great hooks that will keep you listening. They are not rockabilly in the same sense as Big Sandy and his Fly Rite Boys are rockabilly - they are faster, more aggressive and have a broader base of themes. Our Brand goes back and forth between rockabilly continuum tunes, hillybilly tunes, and even a Hawaiian song complete with steel guitar. All in all, this is a not a bad $15 to spend.

Thier brand is not my cup of tea..........2004-08-24

I give this two stars for the effort. Although I enjoy occasionally listeing to thier other cd, whcih sounds more liek rockabilly. This cd is NOT rockabilly at all! This sounds liek Rev. Horton Heat. This is just plain punk music, with a cool name... Too bad because this band seemed to be going in the right direction, I guess they took a wrong turn, and got sidetracked to plain old boring punk. Hope they will make thier next cd a rockabilly one for all their fans.

Rockabilly Power Trio.......1999-12-14

I can not say enough kind words about this Colorado trio. This cd is their best effort yet and it mixes traditional rockabilly with some real barnshakers that will make even the tamest Cats and Kittens stand up and take notice. P.S. If you catch them live you are in for a treat!

A fun, exciting, new style........1999-02-24

Didn't know what to expect from this new rockabilly edition, but found it a lot of fun, exciting, and one you want to move to. Chuck expresses thoughts in a way that a lot of us would like to, but his are more on-target, and we hope he continues to keep us tuned.

Great Tunes from a Great Musician.......2006-04-03

The JA Project is a feast for the ears! His lyrics tell great stories of love, of Annapolis, of Jeeps, of checks in the mail. The songs have a variety of topics, but all with a theme of relationships: between a man and a woman, a man and his best friend, a man and...his Jeep! Everything being sung in those songs are coming from that man. The words are moving, plus the beats get you grooving! Jeff Archer experiments with different rhythms: "Down in Mexico" has a Latino flair, and "John Wayne" has a reggae style.
I happen to have myself an _autographed_ copy of the CD! :) By the way, the CD has a unique retro look to it--it is black and has a groove pattern on the top so it looks like an LP record! That way the disc itself is as cool as the music on it! Definitely worth a spin on the ole CD player!
