2 out of 5 stars Steer clear of this mess!.......2007-02-01

Amidst all the 5 star reviews there was bound to be a 2 star, and that 2 star my friends has finally arrived. Motograter's debut album pretty much unfolds like I worst feared...it opens with `Suffocate', the worst rap/rock song I think that's ever been recorded, begins to offer a glimmer of hope in tracks like `Wrong' and the brutally energized `Collapse' but they self destructs in the latter part of album on tracks like `Mutiny' and the embarrassment known as `Get Back'.

The problem that arises even when Motograter gets it right is that nothing here sounds inspired or original, it's all been done before and quite frankly it's been done much better. Their music sounds like Mudvayne meets Soulfly and the lead singer sounds like a mix between Maynard from Tool and the lead singer from Breaking Benjamin. Keep in mind that all four bands just mentioned put out much better music than this band.

I will admit that I like `Wrong' where ironically the band gets everything right, and I like the brutality and intensity of `Collapse' which just explodes in your eardrums, and `Red' is even a track I could listen to more than once, but those few tracks aside this CD isn't worth much. 'No Name' starts off promising, and the verses are sung great but they just ruin it in the chorus.

I'd recommend downloading those three tracks (even if it's pirating and the government will hunt you down like pigs for it) and avoid spending money on just another garage band trying to capitalize on a gimmick (that gimmick being heavy music paraded around with silly makeup and strange names).

5 out of 5 stars Wade's Review of MOTOGRATER.......2007-01-03

This is one of the best albums I have ever heard in my life. I first heard their music in late 2003 when I played NASCAR Thunder 2004. I heard this song on it and I was like, OMG, that song is awesome! The song was "Down", which in my opinion is their best song, and my favorite of all time. Then a couple months later I bought their CD at Fye for like $22. Trust me, it was well worth it. I have the CD to this day too. Not one song ever got old, especially "Down". Nearly every single one of their songs are awesome. My favorites are Collapse, Prophecies, Wrong, Red, Get Back, Mutiny, and of course the most popular, Down. The entire CD is awesome. The drummer is the best I have ever heard, the singer has an excellent voice and can sing many different tones with precision, and the guitars are perfect. I'm telling you, go find this CD at the mall soon! You will be very amazed when you see that this no-name band could possibly one of the best of all time. And PLEASE listen to the most awesome song ever, Down!! Rock on MOTOGRATER!!!

4 out of 5 stars Pretty damn good CD.......2006-07-24

I've had this CD for about 6 month's and I really like it A LOT! One of the things that suprised me most, was the singer's ability to go either heavy or soft nu-metal. Since I dont own any Slipnot or Mushroomhead (sounds like?), I had nothing to fear as far as Motograter copying from them. This CD is strong enough to stand on its own as a quality effort.

The only thing I did not like about this CD was the intro's before each song. I had to record the CD over so I could listen to my collection in 'random' mode.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good.........2006-06-15

After repeated listens to this album, I've come to the conclusion that it was worth my hard earned. Good solid rock album, but definitely not anything ground-breakingly new. Standout tracks to me are Suffocate, Down & Collapse. Worth a listen if you're into heavy rock of any kind.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutly Amazed.......2005-12-21

I had never once heard of these guys until I was checking out the bonus material on the newly released Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie with Jessica Biel's fine ass. But I just happened to run across a music video on the bonus material by a band called Motograter and it was there song "Suffocate" so i was like what the hell and hit play. I must have played that song and Video for hours. I then decided on a blind whim to go to Circuit City and see if by chance i could find it. Much to my amazement I did. They had one copy so i bought it for 6.99. Who can go wrong with a 7 dollar cd in all honesty? Well not a single cent of this 7 dollars that i spend was a waste. Here it is 2005 and im ready for a new release, but on the same token by no stretch of the imagination did this cd get old or boring for the 2 years I have owned it. This is one of the best blind buys I think I have ever made.

For i'm sure the many of you that have no idea of this band and have no knowledge of them and are reading both my reviews as the others on here. Go out and pick this up. I guarentee you if you like your stuff hard and heavy you will LOVE this band as much as i do.

GO OUT AND SUPPORT THESE GUYS THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!

MUCH THANKS TO YOU CIRCUIT CITY!!!!
