Editorial Reviews
The Raspberries were the quintessential 70s power pop group, their music from the pen of founder/member Eric Carmen blended Beatlesque pop with the fiery power of the Who and Small Faces. 20 tracks. Cherry Red.

disappointed.......2007-06-08
All four original albums released are 5 star.......2007-04-16
So therefore this cd must be 5 star.
It is a good place to start, but I would buy all the originals .
Complete Collectors should not discourage new people from starting !
Thank God this stuff is Still Available.......2006-02-25
I was a fly on the wall in West LA when Wally Bryson (in the company of Choir standout Dan Klawon, Naz drummer Thom Mooney, et al) showed up to take another stab at fame with Motown in '76. Otherwise, I'd have missed the boat pretty completely.
Much as it was between Kieth and Mick, it looked to me like the creative tension between Eric Carmen's teen heart throb sensibilities vs. Bryson's hard rock instincts (and gonads) was the heat in the oven here. Pubescent mid-Atlantic, midwestern, southern and plains boys -and- girls seemed to find it irresistable, even if the Left Coast more or less ignored it.
One of the other reviewers here is right about some of the better stuff being missing and available elsewhere. For my money, I want to hear Dave Smalley do "Hard to Get Over a Heartbreak" and Eric do "Hit Record." Nevertheless, this is a good place to start... and especially if you want hear Bryson's astonishing guitar work.
Wally never confirmed this for me, but I hear Badfinger's Pete Ham aplenty, as well as Townshend, Graham Nash and others. (The first thing I ever saw him play -- and sing -- in rehearsal, however, was Kieth Richard's "Crazy Mama" in open G... and it -was- The Stones, vocally and instrumentally.) A carefull review of "Go All the Way," "Tonight," "Ecstacy" and "I'm a Rocker" ought to confirm his chordal and riff-ripping mastery of that '58 Flying Vee.
Bryson went on to play with three of the four Young Rascals in a band called Photomaker, and, fortunately rejoin Eric and the rest of his bandmates in the 'Berries a few years ago on the nostalgia circuit. This CD, however, displays him at his impressive, early best. The first five chords -- and what follows in the next 30 seconds -- of "Tonight" will confirm that for anyone.
Not a good option.......2005-08-04
Another RASPBERRIES compilation?.......2005-05-09
