Paul Young was the nexus at which British blue-eyed soul met '80s synth pop production. The result was a string of glorious hits, including the chart-topper, "Every Time You Go Away." Young was most convincing as a covers artist. His supple tenor, aided by smart, up-to-date arrangements, revived such worthy tracks as the Chi-Lites' "Oh Girl" and Marvin Gaye's "Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home)." From Time to Time contains a good cross-section of Young's work, plus several new tracks, including a version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" performed with Clannad and the international smash "Senza Una Donna," featuring Italian superstar Zucchero. --Daniel Durchholz

Good old songs, but some have not aged well. Only one great new song.

5 out of 5 stars Aahhh, the soulful voice of Paul Young... .......2007-04-06

There isn't a weak track on this CD... Mr Paul Young is an amazing performer... I was first introduced to the music of Mr Young in the 80's when he hit the music charts hard... And while he hasn't remained on the charts, he has continued to share his amazing soulful voice with us on great songs... This Singles Collection is a good starting point if your just getting introduced to Paul Young music... get a copy and listen to his amazing voice, you'll soon be seeking out other CDs by this great talent.

5 out of 5 stars Christine.......2007-03-09

The music on this is wonderful. I loved it when I had it in cassette form and I love it now. These songs really stay in your head (maybe not so good when you wake up in the middle of the night and "I'm Going To Tear Your Playhouse Down -- Pretty Soon!!" is repeatedly running through your mind) but it's good music nonetheless and your money will be well spent.

4 out of 5 stars This is a great CD.......2007-01-05

Truthfully, I had never heard of Paul Young, until I heard one of his songs on the radio. I did a search and found out who recorded it and went from there. I am very happy with the collection of songs on this CD.

3 out of 5 stars Sometimes singles are the best way to go...........2007-01-04

Don't get me wrong - Paul Young has a great voice - and his hit songs were the reason why I wanted this CD. Outside of his radio hits, there are only about two or three other songs that are worth listening to on this CD.
