Customer Reviews:
One of the best pop releases this year!.......2005-11-07
The first 4 songs on this disk are the strongest pop gems I've heard in a long time. Great pop tunes with cello, piano, strings and acoustic guitar backing. Very Mccartney/David Scott (Pearlfishers, fantastic pop band!), Simon and Garfunkle influenced, and one very Todd Rundgren influenced song. The album continues very strongly and is not to be missed! Don't listen to the negative reviews if you like melodic well written pop, you'll love this. Much stronger than his debut.
Great Chill Album.......2005-10-19
this is just a great album. It grows on you and before you know it you have listened to it 1000 times and know the words to every song.
Great album to listen to..........2005-09-09
What I love about Bill's music is that it is so easy to listen to, so easy to enjoy. The songs are catchy, and you might find yourself whistling them to yourself occasionally. Anyone who knows Bill or knows anything about him understands that his music is something personal and completely heartfelt. The guy is a genuinely good one and that clearly comes through on his album and on Ordinary Time.
I'm looking forward to seeing Bill get more exposure and more recognition for TIBB...
A wonderful album, loaded with great songs.......2005-09-03
I think a few of these negative reviewers are listening to a different album. This is one of the most consistently pleasurable listens I have had all year. The songwriting is just excellent and the arrangements are really creative-- spare, melodic and always tasteful. I love the subtle chord changes from verse to verse on "Cold Wind Will Blow Through Your Door."
Misproduced........2005-09-03
Bill Ricchini missed out on a chance to make a pretty darn good record. Every string and guitar part is cringeworthy in it's predictability. Just because you put pretty instruments over tracks doesn't mean you don't also need to find inventive ways to use them. The songs themselves are passible (although again predictable) but most of this record has a COMPLETE lack of freshness. I was a fan of the debut but after this listen I'm convinced the "sophomore slump" is for real.
