The Two EP's [Explicit Lyrics]

The Two EP's [Explicit Lyrics]

Editorial Reviews

Product Description
These four Eugene, OR lads are set to wage war on their namesake genre. They have raw rock smarts beyond their years. Strong songwriting and self-production proved these guys jumped straight out their mom's gut clutching the Rolling Stones' "Exile On Main Street" in one hand, the MC5's "High Times" in the other. Constant prodding from Gearhead Records led to some of their demos coming out on vinyl as "The High School Sessions" EP, followed by "The Weak Blame The Strong" EP, both contained herein as "The Two EPs". They've shared stages with The Donnas, Hunches, New Bomb Turks, Moments In Grace, Kill Radio, and more, honing their slinky glam punk.

3 out of 5 stars Exhausting two lone swordsmen releases.......2005-05-19

First of all, this isn't an album I just picked up to check out, I have all but 1 other Two Lone Swordsmen release, which I just ordered.

That gets me to my point - It's not necessarily one I might feel inclined to pop in the CD player much. It's only 6 tracks, the last three being remixes of the first three.

I favor their instrumental work, and don't dislike the vocals on this album or Double Gone Chapel, but for me, it detracts from the music.

That being said - it's not a bad album at all, but unless you really really really like double gone chapel and need another taste, or fiend for two lone swordsmen releases on a completist level, you might not suffer from passing it up.

The last three tracks are my favorite, and remind me more of tiny reminders than Stay down.

Good music, but I don't feel it getting much rotation.

              Album Description

The Two Way Monologue EP features two songs- 'Two Way Monologue' (short edit) and 'Days That Are Over' (Michael Bauer mix) - from Sondre's acclaimed album of the same name, and 3 un-released tracks 'Johnny Johnny Ooh Ooh', 'Hoisting The Flag' and 'Don't Fool Around' plus videos for 'Two Way Monologue' & 'Days That Are Over'. The EP perfectly captures Sondre's songwriting gift; a joyous celebration, bereft of cynicism, which invites the listener into his world of astonishing maturity and vividly melodic songs. 4 out of 5 stars Dreamy work but it's a mixed bag.......2004-08-31

The first track alone makes the CD worth the purchase, there's just something dreamy and emotional about it. The second track is very good although not as good as the previous. The third track is again very dreamy and trippy. Another track that makes the album worth it's purchase. The fourth track is a bit hard sounding especially when compared to the lush dreamy tracks we just heard. The fourth track is dreamy again with decent singing over it. It's actually a cover tune and you might recognize it as it did make the radio back in the day. The 6th track is even harder than the 4th and it's not very appealing, it doesn't belong on this album. The 7th track is decent but a bit boring and the singing doesn't interest me at all, it just seems played out like I've heard it before, nothing original here. The 8th track has a strong beat with some decent synth layering over it.

Even though this short album has some rought spots, 3 of the 8 tracks I always skip, it was well worth the money. Those 5 tracks are really good, good enough to still make this a great purchase. Honestly, if you still paid the same price and only had these 5 tracks, I would put this album up to 5 stars easily but these 3 so-so tracks really drag the album down for me.

This is another essential album for an IDM/synth-pop lover, don't pass it buy because of it's lack of size.

              5 out of 5 stars Fantastic Duo.......2001-11-15

This cd will take your mind off of and out of the world. If you like Orbital or BT you'll love Alpha Conspiracy and Low Technicians with their addictive beats and samples.
