Winner of the 1999 L.A. Music award in the category of Outstanding Guitarist, opening shows for Bonnie Raitt, and being the only woman asked to audition for the post-Garcia version of the Grateful Dead, Lauren Ellis once again showcases her skills on the new album, "Feels Like Family", recorded in her new hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
Playing acoustic, electric, National steel, lap and baritone guitars, she brings melodic life to this latest collection of memorable and heartfelt songs. Accompanied this time out by stellar players Viktor Krauss (Lyle Lovett), Kenny Malone (Alison Krauss), Dean Parks (Steely Dan), and Tony Joe White, the album truly Feels Like Family.

Customer Reviews:
the music is great, the CD/DVD format doesnt Rip in iTunes (or anything else).......2005-10-30
the CD/DVD format doesnt rip so you can play in iPod. selling the cd, getting the music on iTunes store.
Great singer terrrible protection scheme........2005-08-07
The dual disc thing gave me a bad feeling that I should have listened to. The few CD's I've purchased with extras haven't worked well. This one has the added annoyance of some sort of protection scheme that prevents the CD from playing properly on your computer. I have a SONY CD/DVD player on my computer and it has never failed to play a music CD. Since I listen to my IPOD about 99% of the time, the first thing I did was was to import the CD into my ITUNES list. Bad move. The first couple of song loaded and played perfectly while I listened to them. The rest had a very intentional skip in them, obviously caused by some software that had been added to my computer by the disk.
I know this because when I tried to listen to the CD again in Windows media player and ITUNES, the "skip" was now inserted into all the tracks. I don't know about you but programs that add ANYTHING to my system without my permission make me very angry. But that isn't the half of what's wrong here....read on
I was so furious I was ready to return the CD to Borders, then I decided to try the DVD. The DVD opens to a menu that supposedly allows you to download the music to ITUNES or windows media, however, you have no control over what you get and you have to wait about an hour to find out what has been loaded. What I found in my ITUNES folder were the first three songs I'd originally been able to load to ITUNES and the entire DVD launcher and audio/video data that had been on the disk. TO make matters even worse, there were still no ITUNE playable songs in the folder AND a total of 3.25 GIGABYTES had been added to my already memory challenged computer. If you aren't very computer savvy and have a small hard drive this could deep six your system. Perhaps the saddest part is that everyone who has this problem is going to associate it with one name, Lauren Ellis. Whatever money this company saves by hampering people from sharing the songs with friends is going be lost in ill will created by having paid for this annoying peice of plastic. Mine is going back to Borders. I don't listen to much music on my home system and hers, though good, just isn't worth this much trouble.
Like enjoying a warm summer breeze on a July night.......2005-07-12
