Album Description
In the proud tradition of Aussie soap-stars' graduating to illustrious pop careers (think Kylie Minogue & Holly Valance) comes the debut album for this 18 year-old starlet. Includes the hit single 'Lost Without You' & 'Born To Try'. Delta likes to emphasize how she signed to Sony Australia two years before joining the soap and how she cowrote the majority of the tracks on the album. This push for authenticity results in a top-heavy array of piano and orchestral tracks on the album. Only after multiple plays does the brilliance and complexity of some of the tracks become apparent. However her dazzling voice does shine through right from the start. Sony. 2003.Album Details

heavy on ballads but she has a beautiful voice.......2006-11-13
For the price, 10.99, this is a great cd/dvd package. (as Amazon seems to sell other editions from 16.99-19.99-to 20 something dollars, and this edition has the bonus dvd that others don't seem to include)
For those of you wondering if the dvd will play- as it is in PAL format-It played fine on my computer's dvd player-so I think it will probably play on most dvd players.
As other reviewers have mentioned, Ms. Goodrem has a beautiful voice. However if you like more upbeat pop. You should buy her second album "mistaken identity" as the songs are a little more upbeat (and she shows more range). This album is good but most (ok..basically all) of the songs are ballads. (a few of the songs sound similar)
Also, if you're thinking about buying this album I would note that its very much "straight" pop with some occasional alt. cont. leanings... it definitely does not have an R&B edge. Also besides 5 or 6 standout songs (born to try, innocent eyes, etc..)the production on this album can feel somewhat bland and sometimes a little overpowering...
Ms.Goodrem has a good voice, however she does not have the most distinctive voice, (as compared to other pop singers such as Kelly Clarkson, Leann Rimes, or Monica) but her voice is very pleasant, fairly strong, and you have to give her credit for choosing the songs that best compliment her voice. She co/wrote or wrote many of the songs herself.
Good cd. However if you like your pop with more edge I would go with her second album. I would also recommend Kelly Clarkson, Rachel Stevens, Nelly Furtado, or Sugababes.
If you like pop ballads I would check out Julie Andrews "Now," Leann Rimes "Twisted Angel," or any one of Mariah Carey's first five cds.
If you like piano driven pop I would check out Vanessa Carlton's "Harmonium," or John Legend's debut.

Graham Nash goes synth-pop, and believe it or not, he pulls it off big-time.......2006-05-04
Released in 1986, "Innocent Eyes" is Graham Nash's fourth solo album, and it ain't hard to see why it would have a lousy reputation among fans of Nash and the 'law firm'. Why? Because it sounds way different than what most anyone would probably associate with Mr. Nash, plus of the 10 songs, four of them weren't at all written by Graham. This album is flat-out EIGHTIES-style rock with a vengeance: super-slick production, booming electronic drums, 'metallic' and/or heavily chorused guitars (courtesy of session ace Michael Landau), in-your-face synthesizers.
Thing is, this is slick Eighties rock at its best, and no, I don't mean that to sound like an oxymoron--this album is a BLAST. Sometimes the lyrics ARE 'dumb', but in an amusing, intentional way--Graham seems to have his tongue firmly in cheek on songs such as the riotous, insanely catchy opener "See You In Prague and the intentionally 'annoying' and repetitive album-closing peace cry "I Got A Rock". The Paul Bliss-penned title track is TOTALLY 80's for sure, thanks in part to the additional vocals from Kenny Loggins, but it's a hook-fest that you simply can't deny. "Newday", written by Nash and longtime associate Craig Doerge, has lyrics that look bare-bones on paper, but the catchy guitar riffery, melodicism, and positive energy make it uplifting and impossible to resist. Nash also supplies a couple of raging gems with the cathartic, lyrically creeped-out "Keep Away From Me"; and the massively-catchy, uptempo protest rocker "Over The Wall".
Graham wrote a couple of great ballads for the album as well. "Glass And Steel", the one song on the album NOT to feature a drum machine, sounds as though Graham may have written it about David Crosby. And "Sad Eyes" is an uplifting love ballad, with great vocal contribution from James Taylor.
Only on a couple of songs do the lyrics start to reek of mindless drivel. "Don't Listen To The Rumours" has lyrics that are just too dumb and unresolved for their own good, but dammit, it's just so appealingly catchy anyway. The reggae-fied "Chippin' Away" has a fairly dumb and predictable chorus, but the verses are irresistibly catchy, and the song's feel-good vibe really gets under your skin (Taylor is clearly audible on this track as well, despite not being credited).
It certainly doesn't hurt that Nash is in peak form vocally throughout the album, often double-tracking his lead vocals to excellent effect. If you're looking for concrete proof of Graham Nash as a brilliant singer-songwriter, you're better off starting with "Songs For Beginners". But if you're already a Nash fan and are able to appreciate fun, well-executed '80s synth-pop, then tap into your sense of humor a little, give "Innocent Eyes" a try, and you'll get a real blast out of it. "Innocent Eyes" is a true winner!

Simply Amazing.......2006-10-12
Limited US exposure.......2006-10-12
Deltas 'Innocent Eyes'............2006-05-28
1. Born To Try: The Inspring song that most people know, and definately a good song to get you going no matter who or who you are, will inspire you...
2. Innocent Eyes: A great song about Keeping and Wanting that innocent and having that excited approach to EVERYTHING, the piano solo in the middle is real fave for me, its talking about he growing up and showing her talent to everyone, definately beautiful FUN song!! (Kind of like Sweet Sixteen by Hilary Duff)
3. Not Me, Not I: The first real heart-break track on this CD, addictive like its nobodys besiness and it has a edge to it that emotionally presses all the buttons, the middle part again has this really broken feeling, she sings her heart out on this track!!
4. Throw It Away: The first Real True Poppy almost Country track on the album, its a first love for me, its got its own sound yet it appeals to everyone, its a vengeful track and a natural progression for Not Me...
5. Lost Without You: The SONG That Made Me A Fan, the video rocks its a classic love-lost song, but can relate to everything, the lyrics a top notch and it has a magic classic sound, her voice shines on this version, the intro also carries itself, its just a CLASSIC!!
6. Predictable: this is a Rocky Delta, taking over now, this could've fit on Mastaken Identity. it has the same magical thing that Throw It Away has, is a fun strong down to earth, beautiful track and a natural progression to the next track..
7. Butterfly: Beautiful Piano, Beautiful Vocals, The intro again wins you over, it has an innocent to it that Innocent eyes doesn't have, it is a love song, similar to Will You Fall For Me, a classic, has a real sweetness to it!
8. In My Own Time: This a ballad about growing up, simple music, inspiring, simple piano and Delta arrangment, a natural progression, it definately can be played when your feeling down,
'In My Own Time I'll Take A Chance In My Own Time I'll Find Romance' is the major idea of the song, i just feel for it more, Relatable to anyone!!
9. My Big Mistake: This song like Predictable could fit on either album and has a fun element to it, dispite the fact its about love-lost and though it doesn't say it why (Cheating), its a pleading song, its definately upbeat in comparison with other tracks on here!!
10. This Is Not Me: This song is similar to In My Own Time but its more faster and it talks about being confused about who you are and not feeling right and not listening to yourself vaguely simple arrangment, her vocals on this track is sweet and soft, and feel natural!
11. Running Away: This song fits on Mastaken Identity too, its this albums answer to Disiorientated, about running away to figure yourself out and find what you want and dreaming about being free, really chaotic in this context of the album, but its definately calm to a degree....
12. A Year Ago Today: This track is a sweet song about losing someone and on the annversary looking back and thinking about that (Extraordinary) day. sweet song, really down to earth..
13. Longer: Fun track, one of the most poppy tracks on this album, has its own idea, its not a stick-out but again it has its memorable momants...the piano intro fits the song in context alot too!!
14. Will You Fall For Me: This is a classic love song, most people will relate to it and it it really beautiful to me, its about a crush, and wondering Will You Fall For Me?? beautiful simple In My Own Time kind of production, really worth it in end and a final beautiful finish to this album!!
Innocent Eyes is a great album that desearves a place in all CD collections cause it has its own sound and will fit anyone CD Collection and it is great for you, any way don't you want the original Delta album!!
Love,
Katy
Just so beautiful...Every Pop Fan should have this!.......2006-01-18
Up-Beat, Emotional, Overall An Amazing Debut........2005-09-27
1. Born To Try: The lead single cemented her as an artist to watch. The song was huge in the UK and raced into the top 3. This song is a great opener to this album and shows off her superb vocal range. The song really gets caught in your head.
2. Innocent Eyes: Another single and hit but what makes this song is the reflection on her childhood. The song is rather poetic which is basically also shown throughout the whole album. The way she interprets the song is great and the chorus is really catchy.
3. Not Me, Not I: A ballad with punch. This song shows off Delta on the whole. If you could judge her based on one song, this song would be it. The title is really good.
4. Throw It Away: In my opinion this should have be released as a single rather than Lost Without You. This is the first guitar orientated song on the album and provides a good balance.
5. Lost Without You: The worst single released from this album, however it is a great song and has a wicked drum beat that works well with the piano. In this song she admits that she was wrong and realizes her mistake. Overall a superb song.
6. Predictable: One of the best songs on this album, never released with a proper video. The video has Delta live in concert. Really quite angsty and rock orientated sounds coming through on this track.
7. Butterfly: This is a rather sympathetic song and though it isn't that strong it has a rather nice chorus. Good vocals.
8. In My Own Time: This track is a spectacular ballad with lots of emotion. You may think that this album may be boring with all the ballads however it really isn't. The song sounds a bit country-ish.
9. My Big Mistake: My Big Mistake sounds like it could've come off her sophomore album Mistaken Identity. The song is really fast though not crazily fast. Just fast compared to the other songs.
10. This Is Not Me: Again Delta proves that she can write great songs and you just have to listen to this song to really love it.
11. Running Away: This song has alot of programming at the start and is about running away. The chorus is the best on the album.
12. A Year Ago Today: This track is a bit slow and boring and sounds a little like Will You Fall For Me but it's okay I guess.
13. Longer: Has a great motif at the start with strings and is the last up-beat song on the album before the closing song. I really like this song for reasons I don't know. The lyrics are good.
14. Will You Fall For Me: It is a really good song until the chorus which isn't as good as the verses. This song means alot to me and I can relate with some of the songs. Nice close.
Innocent Eyes is a stunning piece of work, while not as good as her sophomore it sure is really amazing. This album shows why it sold 1 million copies worldwide and hopefully will show her off to the world. This is a gripping debut that will astound you.
