Let's start with who deSol is not.

Not Santana, although you will hear some very classic Santana echoes in their work - and Soto's got it in him to take a bigger, better lead part.

Not Los Lonely Boys. COMPLETELY different genre (and not from Tejas), although many LLB fans are fans of deSol.

Not Ozomatli, although there's that feel in some places.

Who are they? Guys having a great time performing catchy music.

If you are comfy with switching from Spanish to English on the fly, you'll be right up there with these guys. Mix of Latin rhythms here with some complex construction.

Top three songs:

Karma (gets radio play - pretty)

Amazed (chord progression is unique; pretty piano work)

Chica de Miami (if this don't get you up and dancing, you're DEAD!)

Everything on the album is worth listening to, though.

Will see them in Austin soon and will add what a live performance is like.

Heard these guys on the radio, then saw them open for Los Lonely Boys in Hampton, NH. WOW!!! Energy, talent and the perfect appetizer to a LLB show. You will not be disappointed.

I am enjoying this upbeat eclectic blend of latino and rock styles of music. It is fun to listen to.

I just went to their concert last night in Portland Oregon. These guys are the best, since Santana, and Los Lobos! They are exciting and their music is up and coming and they are definetly on their way to the top. Their style of music will get you out of your seat and dancing to their beat in no time. If you like a good rhythm to the beat of pop/Latin this cd is right up there. You will not be dissappointed. De Sol is awesome!!

Lame, and not original............2005-06-29

Never seen the band live but this CD is a big disappointment.
The sound is a low budget version of Santana / Los Lonely Boys.
The songs are lame and way too commercial. Hope their next album turns out to be better (a lot).

If you like music that makes you want to dance and smile, you will enjoy deSol's Spanish Radio. I have seen them live in concert and also own this CD. They sound as well in person as they do on their CD. The keyboards are awesome as well as all the other instruments, vocals and percussion. DeSol rocks the Jersey Shore.......2002-08-19

Since forming the band, Albie Monterossa and crew have been delighting audiences from the Jersey Shore west to Philadephia, New York City and played the Hard Rock Cafe and other hot spots in Miami Beach Florida. These guys are great in concert and it is no surprise that there CD is awesome. From the hot guitar licks to the beat of the Congas and Timbales, deSol has done it with this - their first CD. I am 31 years old and this cd excites some of my younger cousins (early twenties) and some of my oldest relatives - my Aunt dances to the cd in her living room and she's 78! Buy it now and you won't regret your choice!
