"Slightly Stoopid...bringing the 'soundtrack of the California lifestyle' to tour stops around the nation for the last five years."

Product Description
Slightly Stoopid possesses a unique dynamic. They have the sort of musical kinship that is clearly the result of years spent growing up together in one of Southern California's premiere surf towns and the relentless pursuit of creating the quintessential soundtrack for the lifestyle that exists there. Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald are perfect musical counterparts, complementing each other in the realm of elctric and acoustic rock, reggae, dub, blues, hip-hop, punk and metal. Boasting dual front men, Slightly Stoopid yields a rare chemistry. Both are multi-instrumental, often switching effortlessly from bass to guitar in the middle of their shows, continuously balancing their vocal stylings and fresh harmonies and always converging into songs that are good enough to be respected by the very artists who inspire them.

4 out of 5 stars A good preview.......2006-08-01

These guys are amazing musicians; perfect together - a modern Simon and Garfunkel. This album is pretty good on it's own, basically the best modern rock out there, if you'll call it that. It's hard to call it anything because these guys are totally unique; it's a sound I've been lookin for but haven't found in other artists. Even better are there next two albums, and more diverse.

5 out of 5 stars BOMB!.......2006-03-10

If you like the guitar and some chill mellow music, you gotta have this CD.

5 out of 5 stars Best of Slighly Stoopid.......2006-01-01

This album in my opinion is by far slightly stoopid's best. I don't really care for most of their other music just because they sound so "white". This is pure reggae.

5 out of 5 stars slightly stoopid acoustic rocks .......2005-09-12

this is the best cd i have heard in a long time if you like acoustic music with BADARSE guitar playing you will love this cd. these guys tear up the guitar with there funky basslines and pounding rythm

4 out of 5 stars Their best cd?.......2005-09-09

There are some gems of songs on the other cd's they have, but I don't care for a lot of their faster punk songs, and some of them are basically crap. This cd I listen to start to finish without skipping over songs. White boys talking with a Jamaican accent in between songs is rather silly, but they make up for it with songs like "Fireshot", "Sensi" and "Couldn't get High". "Wiseman" is also a great song.

Definitely worth the purchase.

5 out of 5 stars California Style Music.......2007-01-10

They put a picture of the guys on the cover so there would be no confusion as to their color. Bradley Nowell signed them for a reason. They shine through.

5 out of 5 stars worth the risk.......2003-09-10

This album is worth the risk of buying if youve never heard of the group at all. They are very good and should not be compared to Sublime at all, even though there sound is almost the same.
This album was recorded during a radio session so its not really a studio album but it still sounds pretty good. If you like the mellow acoustic sound this album has it and is a good chillin album or just a good album to listen to daily.

5 out of 5 stars And the legacy plays on............2003-02-04

If your a fan of Sublime or any of the Southern California sound, i.e. Long Beach DUb Allstars, LB Shortbus, No Doubt, then this is a must have album. Slightly Stoopid takes the sound that was Sublime and continues the Legacy. Mellow and flowing this cd is the perfect music to sit back relax and just listen too.

5 out of 5 stars A CD to FALL in LOvE with *~Rasta-Reggae-punk-rock-luv*~.......2003-01-25

I thought this was just a punk band. Slightly Stoopid proves their musicianship with the diversity of their style.
This album (Acoustic Roots) is a saving grace. It's a byrd to the industry that these guys are just not your everyday punk band. They're not drifters. They're not just lucky. They can back up their punk music with 9 levels deeper than the surface scratch. It's the root.

They made this album when their drummer bailed out on them.. who knew these boys sounded so good on the acoustic tip!!

damn..
get this CD.

Especially if you like surf style rock reggae punk.
This is a CD that will always be in rotation in your disc player.

5 out of 5 stars Kick back.......2002-07-24

Nice cd, really chilled and basic just the two boys kicking back on their guitars. Contains some of their better album songs and a few covers and new tracks all just played raw and accoustic. No electric or drums in this but a real good chill out sound with great vocals. Respect and enjoy, if you can get hold of a copy!

5 out of 5 stars 5 stars all the way.......2002-02-07

This Cd really shows how talented Kyle and miles really are. This Cd was recorded at Rock 105.3 a San Diego Radio Station, it was done with two acoustic guitars. If you listen to Longest Barrel Ride and Slightly Stoopid(self titled)CD's you will get a completly different feel. This Cd is more acoustic reggae feel to it. I love all three Cd's and I am anxiously awaiting the next Cd which I am told comes out in Summer of 2002. If you get a chance to see a Slightly Stoopid show you will not regret it. What an experience they provide.
