Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars SORRY CHARLOTTE - Even God can't change my view on this album . . ........2007-05-15

I bought this CD, expecting it to be somewhat easy to listen to. I was wrong! The whole album is a waste of money! Every track is completely over-produced with terrible synthetic pop sounds and heavy background vocals. I am warning you - DON'T BUY THIS! I'm not going to write a long and dragged-out review about this album, with scores and comments. Her voice has taken a nose-dive. It's WAY to breathy and weak. Please - After Charlotte's recent behavior against the Catholic church and her use of language, cigarettes, and alcohol, all you're going to do is put more money in her pocket to keep doing these things.

5 out of 5 stars Pure OUTSTANDING Pop Album.......2007-05-10

What drew me into this album first was the excellent art direction of the cover. Then, I saw the Charlotte Church name and became quite curious & intrigued. The album is obviously targeted towards a pop audience and succeeds on every level. Musically, it's a wonderfully cohesive pop album with, what I found to be, quite sophisticated and mature lyrics. There is a wise-beyond-her-years sensibility to the lyrics.
I'm totally in love with the fact you can understand every single word she sings even without having to refer to the generously supplied lyric sheets. The arrangements are crisp and Charlotte's phrasing is perfect as she conveys each story/song.
On many levels she surpasses the other pop princesses and young female vocalists out there.
Highlights include uptempo tunes such as "Call My Name", "Moodswings (Come At Me Like That)" & "Crazy Chick".
By the way, "Call My Name" has a fantastic video!

2 out of 5 stars Charlotte Church.......2007-05-07

Ms Church definitely experimenting on this album- did not like it. In fact would not have recognised her voice if I didn't know it was her. Voice is different on each song- talk about multiple personalities.

1 out of 5 stars Not gotten this CD yet, but I am quite disappointed..........2007-04-04

I am disappointed after finding out that Charlotte got pregnant by her boyfriend, when the world saw her as an innocent, beauty with a powerful beautiful voice. To say the least, I was shocked and appauled by her actions having sex at her age, not only to give people the impression she had morals and faith in God. I find it disconcerting she changed her genre to pop music. I think she should have stayed with her Opera-etic talent.

5 out of 5 stars I am not rating the album.......2007-03-18

I just want to say that maybe a girl thrust into one genre doesn't really have the voice to do classical music anymore. Or maybe she's an adult now and doesn't want to do it anymore. Whatever it is, judge the album based on its merits or lack thereof not what she used to do or sing.

Girls' voices change too. Maybe she just can't sing the way she used to. Was she classically trained? Did she have a choice then?

I wish there were samples on this page so I could truly judge so to be fair this isn't a critique of Charlotte or the album. As people grow and try to find themselves we must give them a little room to settle where they see fit. Give her ten years and then see.

Thanks for listening.
