Sophomoric but occasionally amusing, the Bloodhound Gang's third outing serves up a dash of Cake, a sprinkling of Blink 182, and heavy doses of metal, hip-hop, and techno. And that's not even mentioning the Pink Floyd rip and Falco sample! Underneath the juvenile, jokey lyrics ("It's hard to rhyme a word like vagina") and cheap chortles (the faux-country "A Lap Dance Is So Much Better When the Stripper Is Crying" being one prime example) are a few memorable melodies. "The Bad Touch" is a catchy, sample-heavy, danceable sex song that name-checks numerous pop-culture touchstones, from Waffle House to the Discovery Channel. Metallica and Frankie Goes to Hollywood samples meld in the rap-metal "Mope." An ode to adult film actress Chasey Lain is yet another perverse novelty entry on this schtick-a-song offering. Yes, there are some guilty chuckles to be found here, but ultimately this 18-track outing is only truly titillating if you're 12--or act like you are. --Katherine Turman

"You and me Baby aint, nothing but mammals so let's...".......2007-01-31
Jimmp Pop is a great rapper, raps fast and he's nothing like Fred DUrst, but all the refrences to pop culture are just awesome. I never would have _________ thought that somebody can mention Pac-man, THe weather channel, and National Geographic. The bad touch is clearly the highlight along with Mope, but alot of it's just stupid rapping. But I mean stupid in the best way possible. These guys certainly don't take themeselves seriously. And that's a very good thing, so ___________ tired of all these losers these days trying to be serious. The lyrics are not the reason why I like them either, there music is good. TOo mant people think the lyrics are so important. FOr me, the music itself is better, and I like the music.
DOn't expect anything deep, at all. After all, what kind of band names themeselves the bloodhound gang and makes an album calle d(insert title here). SO forget about all this _______like American Idiot and listen to the Bloodhouynd Gang!
"Do It like they do on the discovery channel!"
UPDATE:After reading some idiot's review on this album "nerd". I must reply. First off, you seemed to comment on the other person by saying that he's just a Bloodhound Gang fan, and that all of us like music that is "PC", and were just closeminded fan that can't like something like The Beatles or Jazz. Wrong. I like Jazz, Sinatra, Suffocation, Barenaked Ladies, country, music that takes a genuis to create. SO don't call us that. The fact that we laugh at the titile and that's it, your such a ________ to think that. To you juvenile little kids who laugh at that, stop listening to this and listen to Weird "Al".
Also, you say that The Bloodhound Gang can only write songs that are about nothign but that uh word again. Your stupid again. Do you think that you can write something with that many refrences and innuedos. IF you think that writing lyrics with refrences to pop culture not half of the people that listen to them know about takes no talent, let's see you try. Their lyrics are much more clever than you would imagine, but like some people, you just don't get it.
If you don;t like the music itself, that's fine. BUt your review attacks two things that are totally untrue, the lack of lyrical cleverness, and the fans itself. Both are totally the opposite of what you said.
SO next time, don't attack fans and think that The BLoodhound Gang talk about nothing but that one word, nerd.
Also, another thing. SOme fans, you guys are just lame. I even see anime videos to the music. I say that's just retarded. Anime videos? The last thing the BHG need to be made to is _________ little anime videos by those sugar coated _______ animes like Trigun. DO that to LInkin Park videos (who suck).
Crude, yes, but deep..........2006-09-04
Reruns of rerun, so what's happenin!
Hooray for Boobies rocks!.......2006-06-29
Omglolz, he said "boobies.".......2006-05-12
About the "music": 1)Palm-muting doesn't make a song good. I get it. You can palm-mute. So can most people who play guitar or bass. 2)Make your music more diverse and varied, or at least change your patterns. Elastica's self-titled album has 4-chord patterns, except they play faster, and the songs aren't much longer than two and a half minutes long (not that I'm comparing BHG to Elastica). 3)Do what you do "best", and don't try metal. "Magna Cum Nada" is BHG's horrible attempt to make something metal-ish. Stop.
The problem with Bloodhound Gang is that they just won't die. People like them somehow, and so they feel compelled to squeeze out more and more crap that gets worse and worse as it progresses, not saying that they were ever good.
Why don't we go through the songs and rate them, shall we?
1. I Hope You Die: See track 15
2. The Inevitable Return of The Great White Dope: Best song by BHG, but still not great.
3. Mama's Boy: See track 15
4. Three Point One Four: See track 15
5. Mope: See track 15
6. Yummy Down On This: See track 15
Catch my drift yet? I don't think I can fully show my displeasure with words. "1 star , because 0 is not an option" is exactly correct.
People, if you actually want Bloodhound Gang, copy it from someone. Maybe if they see their record sales go down, they'll actually think about quitting.
p.s. Track 15 is called "This is Stupid."
Excellent,just like everybody else said!.......2006-04-26
I hope you die - Excellent hard rock song. Very nice melody. 5/5
The inevitable return - Also great, very funny. 5/5
3.14 - Hilarious lyrics,but the melody is average. Still good,though. 4/5
Mope - Great song! I especialy liked Homer at the end. Pacman was also funny. 5/5
Yummy down on this - Hard melody, but discusting lyrics. 3/5
The ballad of Chasey Lain - A bit short, but still good. 5/5
Most likely to suck - An OK song, but not one of my favorites. 4/5
The bad touch - The biggest BHG hit! The best on the album. 5/5
Take the long way home - Another enjoyable song. Very good. 5/5
Hell yeah - Too long! That brought this song down a bit. 4.5/5
Right turn clyde - OK song, but nothing special. 4/5
A lap dance - Although the refrain is a bit irritating,it's still good. 4.5/5
Along comes Mary - Great way to end this excellent album! 5/5
There are 5 skits on this CD. Some of them are good, but some of them are just stupid. "Mama's boy" is extremly funny, great joke, nice intro for "Three point one four". However, "10 coolest things about New Jersey" are just 10 seconds of an irritating sound. A skit "That's so stupid" is,just like the tittle said, stupid. The other two are OK.
My favorite songs are "Mope","The Bad Touch" and "I hope you die". My least favorite is probably "Yummy down on this",because there's a discusting sound of trowing up. Overall, this is a good album. My 2nd favorite album of BHG.
