This CD with Long Ride Home and Making Pies stands out as Patti's finest, and one of the best CDs of the decade. While listening to this CD you will sit down in a big car and imagine what you could do to make your life better - thinking about it from the end to the present. You'll pick out words you wish you never said and reimagine yourself as a better person. You'll venture into the world of someone for whom coping with loss is the rebirth of hope everyday in a fresh baked pie. Patti tells stories that envelop us in the reality of someone else for a few minutes. Amidst the listen, we realize these songs aren't just about someone else. They are us too. 1000 Kisses is a personal and emotionally rich experience in contemporary folk.

Patty Griffin was a recent discovery for me, but, since hearing "Mad Mission" from "Living with Ghosts," I have bought all of her recordings. This CD is my favorite. I have bought copies of it for all of my friends and they love it too. You will not regret buying this.

i found this cd while looking at the new lucinda williams cd, i decided to take a listen. i had heard of patti griffin before but never listened to her music.....big mistake. i decided to buy this cd instead of the new l. williams one. i love this cd. my fav. songs are rain and tomorrow night. when i played rain for the first time, i had chillbumps all over. this cd makes me want to sit and have a nice glass of wine and i don't even drink wine:). anyway i just ordered children running through, can't wait till it gets here.

I have to disagree with the reviewer who picks "Chief" as a weak spot. Not only is it my favorite on the album, it's my favorite Patty Griffin song.

Patty Griffin is one of my favorites. My favorites on this CD are Rain and Stolen Car. This CD is a little more melancholy than her others, but this can serve an excellent purpose in our lives as well. If you are looking for excellent music to sing along with in the car, buy this CD!
