5 out of 5 stars Another Great Piece of Live Material.......2007-07-26

These are two nights of complete energy and great sound from Dave & Crew. They balance their old fan favorites perfectly with a whole slew of new songs off of the Stand Up album. Songs such as the energetic The Idea of You; the soulful Break Free; and Can't Stop are all featured during the two night stand, along with Fenway Park tradition- Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline. Live at Fenway Park is the only set where you can hear these songs live, which is part of what makes it so valuable for listeners.
However, Dave & Crew keep the long-time fans happy with a wide smattering of old fan-favorites, including a powerful Two Step to end the two night stand. Also, such rarities as The Last Stop, Digging A Ditch, and (Don't Burn The) Pig, make this a well-rounded set.
Words cannot describe the awesomeness of this version of "Satellite." Definately the highlight of both nights. Such a beautiful song, and such a wonderful version of it. The crowd reaction is tremendous, and gives me goosebumps each and every time i listen to it.
Buy it. You won't regret it.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-07-09

This live album from DMB is mind blowing. Sound is great. Absolutely a CD that should be picked up by any DMB fan.

5 out of 5 stars This Show was freakin' outrageous.......2007-03-26

I went to this show and it was unbelievable. It was one of the best Dave shows that I have ever been to and I have been going to Dave shows for over ten years. I have not listened to the CD yet, (as I just ordered it), but again, the show was incredible, especially being at the famous Fenway Park. Even if you are not a diehard DMB fan, you will enjoy this show. Definitely work the money.

5 out of 5 stars "Just in case y'all were wondering...I love that song too".......2007-03-22

Dave says that during this show after finishing a couple great tunes. What does that tell you?

If you've been to a show or two, you know that Dave Matthews Band is a superlative live act. This recording delivers excellent sound quality with a setlist that demonstrates how so many old favorites from the first 4-5 albums have evolved into epic jams. Grace is Gone ends with a Hoedown Jam, just sweet...A Super Funk 17:57 Jimi Thing. Fenway delivers great future classics such as Break Free, Idea of You, and Can't Stop. Quite simply, I listen to DMB everyday and this is the best single concert I've ever heard.

5 out of 5 stars SOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD.......2007-02-18

Have ever single dave cd every made and this one is by far one of the best ones. The quality and sounds are so good its like your right there listening to him. Dave is one of the best of all time and if you like dave then this is a essential to your dave collection.

2 out of 5 stars WTF, Jimmy?.......2007-03-24

Jimmy, I love ya! But, after Feeding Frenzy, you came back with Tuesday's, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Then the whole series of live albums that seemed to document every concert you did in 2004. Now, ANOTHER LIVE ALBUM? (and "live in TX stadium on the way...) The problem is, there have just been to many darn live albums. It's not that Jimmy doesn't deliver live- it's just that half the time he has to shout to be heard over the crowd. And I'm starting to get the feeling he's bored with it all. Jimmy's an innovator- he tries new stuff, and he's covered lots of ground in his career. Sometimes, his stuff misses the mark for his audience, but he's always expanding his horizons. I buy, and will continue to buy every studio album the man puts out. But I'm drawing a line in the sand. No more live albums. Whew- a little rant there, but let's talk about this cd. Most of the setlist is familiar and it IS nice to hear him shake the dust off some of the White Sport Coat tunes. Those are timeless. The problem is, they don't sound great on this cd. Jimmy and the Coral Reefers sound a little uninspired, and did it really have to be a double cd? I will concede that if you don't have any other live cds, this would be fairly enjoyable. For the rest of us, this cd is not necessary. I expect a lot more from the man from Margaritaville, and I know he'll deliver on his next studio set. Thanks for reading my review!

5 out of 5 stars Jimmy has always been the greatest!!!.......2007-03-21

What can I say? I have been listening and following Jimmy Buffett for 28 years. My wife and I sing all the songs and collect the CD's. This particular CD with the accompanying DVD has only one thing wrong....it is over too sooooooon!! Loved the DVD and have played it over and over. All the ParrotHeads know this and those who would be, get this and lose some stress.

4 out of 5 stars Jimmy Buffet at Fenway Park .......2006-10-03

On September 10 and 12, 2004 singer Jimmy Buffet step out on a stage in the outfield for 2 concerts at Fenway Park, that is most famous for having the big green wall out in left field. All together there are 2nd cds, ad a dvd, that has a shorten 55 minutes of football from both shows, part I is the show he did on September 12th, performs an hour and annouces a break, and then part II or should I say cd #2 has the Friday show on thier, that is what I guess act II of the show. Fenway Park is most also famous for being the home of the Boston Red Sox, that later on that year wnet on to win the World Series that year, so you migth have to wonder if these shows did anything to cause that to happen? Thier are seats on the field, where fans coudl sit, and also the seats up in the stands as well. Now if you look at the color of Fenway Park is green, but this also looks like the a great place to be at in person. Now I like tio mention the 2nd cd is 75 minutes long, and has 17 songs on there, and in total he pefroms 32 songs on this 2 cd set, that comes in a little box, with a dvd, that you can also chooose to watch the video fo it, and what is a concert when you can't see it? The band is pretty much the same that he took to play a year later at Wrigley Field home of the Chicago Cubs. Some of the songs are Cheeseburger in Paradise, Hey Good Lookin', It's Five O'Clock Somewhere, Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes, and One Particular Harbour. Now I bet there are a bunch of you Parrot heads out there, but here is a good question, why are fans of Jimmy Buffet fans are called Parrotheads? And when did that nickname come to be?

1 out of 5 stars Sorry I got this one.......2006-07-09

I am a Buffet fan but I hated this CD. The Acoustic guitar stuff is distorted. The rest has jimmy at his worst. I recommend choosing a different Buffet CD

4 out of 5 stars All the Jimmy Buffet any non-Parrothead will ever need .......2006-07-05

Let me say upfront that I am not particularly big on Jimmy Buffett, and I'm certainly no Parrothead. Yet I was intruiged by this CD/DVD combo set, among other reasons because of the timing of the concerts (Sept. 04), just 6 weeks before the Red Sox went on to win the World Series for the first time in 86 years. The fact that a "bonus" DVD was included added to my interest.

"Live at Fenway Park" (32 tracks; 137 min.) was recorded over 2 shows at Fenway, and the show is nicely sequenced. The songs can roughly be categorized in 3 groups: (1) the "classic" Buffett songs such as "Son of a Son of a Sailor", "Cheeseburger in Paradise", "Fins", and many others, (2) the more recent Buffett stuff such as "License to Chill" and "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere", and (3) the cover songs, including "Brown Eyed Girl", "Respect", long-time staple "Southern Cross", but also a surprising "Scarlet Begonias", of which as a Dead fan I feared the worst, but it's not nearly as bad as that. Buffett closes the show with dedicating "Defying Gravity" to the 9/11 victims, a nice touch.

The DVD (55 min.) starts off with Buffett reflecting back on the amazing events of that Fall 2004 (in the show Buffett amazingly "guaranteed" that the Red Sox would reach the World Series), and then gives 14 songs from the show. It's not clear to me why only 14 songs were included on the DVD. That said, the editing of the DVD is nicely done, almost un-MTV like, and I mean that as a compliment.

In all, for the casual Jimmy Buffett fan, such as me, this is a very handy combo. Parrotheads who have lots of other Buffett live albums may feel differently (as some other reviews here make clear).
