Many remixed CDs are mildly amusing at best. Sarah McLachlan's Bloom, on the other hand, is a showcase of world-class musicians reworking her timeless compositions to match their compelling styles, rather than just adding dance beats to pre-existing Sarah songs. The list of contributors to this collection is most impressive, likely to bring non-folk fans into her fold. Reggae legends Sly & Robbie have done some amazing dub-meets-downtempo work on "Train Wreck," arguably improving upon the original cut. DMC (of Run DMC fame) collaborates with Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas to turn out the very BEP-sounding track "Just Like Me," which is centered around McLachlan singing the chorus of "Cats In The Cradle." Famed South Asian DJ Talvin Singh has created a rich, tabla and sitar-infused take on the achingly beautiful "Answer," guaranteed to be a hit at yoga studios and aromatherapy shops everywhere. As far as the other songs are concerned, the majority are amped-up and turned into house music, especially Amsterdam legend Junkie XL's "World On Fire" and the (80's-esque driving beat of "Vox," mixed by Tom Middleton. Ironically, some of the best and brightest moments on Bloom occur when the strong cast of DJs and producers create compositions significantly different from McLachlan's masterful originals. The talent of Sly & Robbie, Talvin Singh, DMC, and Thievery Corporation alone make this album well worth acquiring. --Denise Sheppard

Some of the tracks are good, but not worth putting spyware on your machine. Just go download them.

Album Description
Japanese pressing features an exclusive bonus track,'Fallen' (Satoshi Tomiie's Interpretation).. No stranger to remixes, Canadian singer/songwriter Sarah McLachlan has had her atmospheric pop/rock compositions reworked since her 1989 debut, Touch. Bloom is, in fact, the second McLachlan collection devoted entirely to reinterpretations of her songs, and it draws primarily from 2003's Afterglow for source material. Here Junkie XL (renowned for his raucous take on Elvis Presley's 'A Little Less Conversation') adds an ominous tone to 'World on Fire', and Thievery Corporation gives 'Dirty Little Secret' a minimal backing of shuffling beats and entrancing ambient textures. Most charmingly, reggae legends Sly & Robbie transform 'Train Wreck' into a spare, shuffling R&B number, and Talvin Singh works traditional Indian instrumentation into 'Answer', showing that the possibilities for reworking McLachlan's spacious tunes are nearly endless. 11 tracks in all. BMG. 2005.Album Details

The version to get--has the FULL Satoshi Tomeii mix of Fallen as a bonus track!.......2006-12-16
As for this CD, unlike the other Sarah McLachlan remix CD, which was loaded with long versions, this one has quite a few edits. World on Fire is half the length it is on the "Stupid" import single, and "Fallen" (gabriel & Dresden mix)is also an edit. You can get the longer cut of this mix on the compilation "Heaven: Deep Trance Essentials 2". "Stupid" is the same version from the CD single, and as for all the other mixes, I have no idea if there were longer mixes.
Here are the times:
1. world on fire (6:29)
2. ice (5:46)
3. vox (6:54)
4. dirty little secret (4:00)
5. stupid (7:53)
6. train wreck (4:38)
7. just like me (5:04)
8. answer (4:24)
9. fallen (7:58)
10. fumbling towards ecstasy (6:07)
11. Fallen (satoshi tomeii mix) (10:01)
