Nice, but not 100% great.......2007-07-12

This CD was certainly a great purchase, but it is not the kind you buy and enjoy all the songs in the exact same way. It mixes well samba songs with a few which are more pop-samba oriented. I am rating it as a 4 because I personally don't like this extinct group called Os Mutantes and would easily replace the songs of Bebeto and Copa 7 by songs of more expressive Brazilian samba/pop artists.

Samba Soul distinguishes it self from Caipirinha and The Girls from Ipanema because of its uniqueness. Samba, unlike Bossanova brings out a rhythm that can't keep you still. Samba Soul Groove will bring out your party mood into full gear. This Cd collectively gathers the best of Samba and its pop singles in one CD to make sure you can have a great time anywhere that its listened to. It is a great Cd that completes the Pure Brazil Collection.

There is only two kinds of people who should not have this CD:

You live in a town where dancing is forbidden.
You live on a planet with really weak gravity and this CD will float away.

Otherwise, this CD is for you & pretty eveyone else on this planet. It will instantly transport you to the tropics - a tropics where ocean breezes cool off your glistening body, the night is young, the drinks are endless and everyone is dancing.

If that sounds like a place where you'd like to go - then this CD is for you :-)

This is simply one of the best cd's I have ever know Chris Harrington was my counsler at Camp Manito-wish YMCA and he gave me a copy of his cd i listened to it and my whole family and camp absolutly loved its best Starter song Cobblestone streets! "Starter" Shows Experience.......2000-11-23

Harrington's "Starter" is wonderful, not simply for its musical quality but for its lyrical songwriting. Harrington captures the landcapes of his world; from the "cobblestone streets" of Germany to the "nearby hill" of his childhood home, his experiences are vivid and engaging. The lyrics, especially those in "December 5" are filled with heartfelt, truthful emotion. "Starter" remains consistently interesting, even after multiple listens. It does, actually, get better, due to the range of Harrington's voice and the variety of its pop/folk/rock flavors. It is difficult to define Harrington's music within a traditional context. However categorized, Harrington is a talent that the music world needs.
