One Of The Best Soundtracks You'll Ever Hear (Rating: 9 out of 10- -4.5 stars).......2007-02-24
Some of the people who aren't on Death Row shines a well. The best song on this album comes from a member who isn't even on that record label, D.J. Quik, with "Dollars & Sense".Even the production on that song bangs, as Quick lyrically slaughters MC Eiht on that track. A couple of young cats named Young Soldiers come on for the party track "Eastside Westside", which is also excellent,
There are some R&B songs as well. "Horny" by B-Rezell, and "Come Up To My Room" by Jodeci and fearures Daz and Kurupt. Nate Dogg lays it down on "One More Day". Jewell's "Harvest For The World" is almost forgettable in my opinion.
Then the version I have comes with a DVD and features music videos for "Natural Born Killaz", "What Would You Do?", and "Murder Was The Case".
This here is one of the best comming from Death Row Records. The All Music Guide says that this ranks along side with The Chronic and Doggystyle, and I believe that is a true statement. Suge Knight did the smart thing by reissuing this album (still waiting for that Dogg Food LP buddy), because this mostly represents what Death Row is all about. This is one album that would be a perfect addition to your collection. Word up.

Awesome Hip Hop Tunes from 1994.......2006-07-17
Best Rap Movie Soundtrack Ever.......2006-04-25
The first classic is the Daz Dillinger produced One More Day. This is Nate's song throughout. He isn't relegated to the hooks. And guess what? He owns the song just as he does when he is put alongside a rapper. Outside of "My World" and "These Days," this is Nate Dogg's best solo effort. The baseline is fantastic and Nate Dogg single-handedly creates his own subgenre. The second classic is the funky R&B song "Come When I Call." The formula is straight out of R Kelly's "12 Play" and other albums from the same mold but it works. He can sing. Danny Boy, just like Nate, proves that he can carry a song on his own, without having 2Pac or Warren G beside him. Finally, the best song on the album, Snoop's best song, Daz's best production and my 3rd favorite g funk song of all time, "21 Jumpstreet" is the third classic. Technically, I can't call it Snoop's song because there are so many other variables involved. We have DJ Easy Dk's funny if not vulgar intro. Then we have a verse by Snoop followed by a verse by Tray Deee' (who would later team up with Snoop again to form Tha Eastsidaz). Next we have a hook interpolated from the mediocre funk song "Nobody Can Be You But You." Snoop and Tray Deee' go at it again and DJ Easy raps things up. Our DJ takes 2 hilarious callers, one that complains about being jacked in the hood and the other who dedicates the call to his "baby's momma." To top things off, the beat Daz came up with is one of the funkiest, complex, creative and memorable to ever grace the rap world. It's a big statement, I know, but listen to the song yourself. You can't deny it.
These songs alone are enough to make a memorable album but the album has more. DJ Quik's "Dollaz+Sense," also found on Quik's Safe + Sound album is a fantastic diss song and the hard "What Would You Do" by Tha Dogg Pound is even better. The lesser "Who Got Some Gangsta Sht" by the Pound and Sam Sneed's "U Better Recognize" round out the list of good songs. All in all this album is incredible. With Quik behind "Come When I Call" and Daz behind "21 Jumpstreet" and "One More Day," they prove that they're the one's to reckon with in the west not anyone else. Classic album from beginning to end.

Great album from the classic Death Row era.......2005-12-16
Now this would have got 5 stars, but some of the R&B tracks spoil the flow of the album a little, in particular the Jewell songs, which just seem out of place, on a hardcore hip hop album. There are so many great tracks on here though, that you can forget about the poor R&B tracks. It starts off with the remix to Murder Was The Case, not as good as the original but still a great track. Following that is the classic, Natural Born Killaz with Dre and Ice Cube, this is one of the best tracks on here. Other notable songs are, What Would U Do? (Tha Dogg Pound), 21 Jump Street (Snoop Dogg, Tray Deee), Who Got Some Gangsta S*it? (Tha Dogg Pound ft Lil Style & Young Swoop G) and Dollars and Sense, the classic diss track by DJ Quik. My favourite track on the album is U Better Recognize by Sam Sneed & Dr Dre, this is an absolute classic. In fact since I heard this, i've been looking for more Sam Sneed stuff, but can't find a lot (does anyone know if he's ever released any albums? I can only find an EP, also titled U Better Recognize, but can't find a track listing for it). Production is superb as with all Death Row releases, most of the tracks are by super producers, Dr Dre, Daz and Dj Quik, and they produce some quality G-Funk sounds.
Of the R&B tracks, Come up to My Room with Jodeci and Tha Dogg Pound is probably one of the better ones on the album, also the Danny Boy & Nate Dogg songs are O.K. Like I said earlier though, the R&B songs let this album down a little, but this is still an excellent soundtrack. Buy this for the classic hip hop cuts on here, there are some amazing tracks, if your a Death Row fan and you don't own this, pick it up now!
