They're Back!.......2007-06-17
Yes, they're back. The interesting thing about this band is that with every release, there's a line-up change to go along with it - But the All Out War sound remains. Sure, they're not much for variety. If you heard the first record, you've heard this one. But that's not really a bad thing 'cause if you liked the first one, then you're gonna like this one. Crushing!
Back to the old school..........2007-04-04
Let me tell you that I've been waiting very, very patiently for this album..."Condemned to Suffer" is probably my favorite album of the last decade, minus Kreator's "Enemy of God." That said, with this album, All Out War has gone back to the style of "For Those Who Were Crucified," which was decent, though I thought "Condemned" was a big improvement. "Assassins" is a solid album, though you might actually mistake it for "Crucified" if you don't know better. However, AOW is still the best hardcore band around (call it what you want), no question. It's worth the money. Definitely worth seeing live, too.

Mods Carve the Pig is quite different from Thought Industry's debut Songs For Insects, but every bit as much of a classic. They trimmed down on some of the grandiose flare of the earlier disc, sharpened their sound a bit, and traded in the archaic and fantasy-like imagery of SFI for a more decidedly modern vision. The lyrics are still intense, tittilating hodgepodges of every word you never bothered to look up in the dictionary, but are now supplemented by a new fondness for references to booze, drugs, and current politics, and a strengthened fondness for references to TI's hometown, Kalamazoo. Mods Carve the Pig is a decidedly meaner, darker, more contemporary album, and vocalist Oberlin seems ready to prove that he's far more hardcore than Geddy Lee could ever hope to be. I really love this album because I grew up on it; in reality, there are a lot of rather silly moments and some of the singing, which was always a little off key, is downright difficult to take (see Patiently Waiting for Summer.) But Mods remains an album that is absolutely alive with personal vision and creativity, and there isn't another rock/metal/hardcore-prog album like it anywhere. A unique treat, and the last wholly worthwhile TI album.
Burning Kalamazoo to the ground with Zippo fluid.......1999-09-16
There seems to be little words can do to explain Thought Industry's second album "Mod's Carve the Pig". Their first album "Songs for Insects" left my jaw dropping at the convuluted lyrics and stop-on-a-dime-and-turn-the-bloody-song-around rhythm section. This album makes the tempo and rhythm changes of "Songs" seem a mere novelty, while the lyrics take you on a voyage no doped-up, acid-laced, shroom-swallowing rock poet ever before dared to venture. This album, like all of Thought Industry's albums, requires a few times through the player before you are over-whelmed with the need to simply leave it in at all times. Unlike TI's other albums however, there is very little on it the casual listener could ever be able to swallow, let alone consume in the fashion this album demands of it's listener. An absolutely brilliant piece of work, but make sure to dispose of all pre-conceived notions about how heavy metal, and music in general, needs to be played.

The Best.......2005-12-21
I always said and still say Mexicano 777 is the greatest out today, wether it's Hip-Hop or Reggaeton this Boriqua can do it all. This album is a must have and yes it is a classic. Not Daddy Yankee, Don Omar Tego or anyone else can touch this Guerrero. His music is deep, lyrical and insightful, if you don't feel the pain, anger, joy and sadness in his voice then you're just not listening. "Puerto Rico Stand Up!!!"
THIS IS HIP HOP LATINS SHOULD BE PROUD OFF.......2005-10-01
I first heard Mexicano on the Tony Touch peacemaker cd and I remember enjoying his verse, his voice is distinct enough to stand out from the crowd and he seems to have a grasp on what true hip hop is. The whole album from start to finish is fantastic, Domingo who did the production should pat himself on the back he did a terrific job and Mexicano rides the beats well, his rapping both in english and spanish are decent and his sing along style flow is odd at first but once you get into it you accept it as part of what mexicano is all about.
You don't have to be latin to enjoy this album but you have to like real hip hop to be into this. Why do I not give the album full marks? well I Don't know if this would be considered a classic album but it sure is a good one. Headnodding beats, great MC, buy it
I WILL DIE FOR THIS FOO!.......2004-12-15
I GIVE THIS CD ALL THE STARS ABOVE MY HEAD AND MORE BECAUSE ALL AND I MEAN ALL OF HIS SONGS GET TO ME ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M DOWN..THIS FOO TELLS IT LIKE IT IS,NO BS,JUST STRAIGHT OUT LIKE IT IS AND HIS FLOW IS JUST SOOO DOPE.LIKE THE OTHER REVIEWER PUT,EN MI CUIDAD ES DIFICIL DE ENCONTRAR MUSICA DE EL. I LIVE IN SOUTH CENTRAL AND I GOT A HOLD OF HIM THRU SOME DOWNLOAD BUT I WILL DEFINETLY LOVE2HAVE HIS WHOLE CD COLLECTION AND LIKE HOMEBOY SAID IF ANYBODY KNOWS WHERE TO GET THEM PLX HOOK EVERYONE ELSE UP WITH THE INFO. SI ALGUIEN TIENE LA INFORMACION MANDARME UN E-MAIL POR FAVOR A/IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE TO GET MEXICANO 777 POSTERS,CD's,BOOKS,sTICKERS ANYTHING PLX E-MAIL ME AT:
tearless_morena@yahoo.com
I REALLY APPRECIATE IT AND LIKE HOMEBOY SAID THIS IS THE TYPE OF CD WHERE U GOTTA ASK "WHY U AIN'T GOT IT YET?"..................
Listen and Learn.......2002-07-14
From the his first words "tiempo de empesar y de analizar..." he grabs you like if you were a rag doll, and shakes you al the the way through the end. His wriitng skils are great but his way he throws them at you, is even better. Domingo supplied some of the best beats throughout the entire CD. This is not a must buy CD,it is a, "What you haven't bought it yet!?"
Hooo haa! Mexicano rifa!.......2002-04-24
Are you kidding? Hoo! This disc is hot! Bueno, me gusta más cuando rapea en español, pero las rolas en inglés son buenas también. Y la mayoría son en español. Anyway, this is some ole wild rap stuff, kind of like a Rican Mad Lion (who, incidentally, guest raps on a hot joint called Guerreros or something). This record is no joke. My understanding is that it's his first major-label release, and he had two records before, Entre el bien y el mal and El colmo de los fugitivos, o algo por el estilo. No sé si sus otros discos son así de firmes o no, pero deben ser, yo qué sé. El caso es que en mi ciudad no los encuentras donde sea que busques. But whaddyagonnado. If anyone knows where to hook up the previous two, tell me, porque hace falta. Este rapero va en serio.
