Album Description

Over the past 10 years, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony have sold an astonishing 40 million units. Throughout the band's history, founding members Layzie Bone and Bizzy Bone have always been ahead of the game, pioneering a sound that's been often duplicated but never replicated.

BONE BROTHERS 2: Brings back the much-anticipated reunion of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony brothers, Bizzy Bone and Layzie Bone as the "Bone Brothers". The first "Bone Brothers" album was a hugely successful release and just like that album, BONE BROTHERS 2 continues with the same Bone tradition of complex flows delivered in a gloriously unpredictable fashion. The creative yet reflective album reminds listeners just how crafty the Bone Thugs mixture can be, as the two Bones whimsically play off each others rhymes, interweaving their voices and harmonizing on all the choruses. BONE BROTHERS 2 is an extension of that classic Bone sound and pioneering production that Bone fans have come to know and love.

4 out of 5 stars not that bad of cd .......2007-07-23

as everybody already knows all the versus here were cut and pasted over different beats but i say this cd is not as bad as every1 says it is besides the versus being used already the next bad thing is the cuts that were made... for example since these versus were used on different albums layzie or bizzy would say the name of the album on the verse but they would just blank it out and dint even bother to mix it exept on 1 track...overall this album is okay but be warned

3 out of 5 stars 2nd Bone Brothers album is a lttle bit disappointing.......2007-05-25

When Layzie and Bizzy got together for their first album, it was nice, this one is different. As most reviewers have said, almost all the verses are from other songs the 2 recorded on other albums just mixed together and put over new beats. And like most Real Talk ent. albums, it's short, at only 10 songs and 4 skits - plus the fact they put it out the same day as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's very solid "Strength & Loyalty" album. Of the 10 sogns, 5 are good and 5 are ok, no guest on the album and each person is on every songs. Production is decent, Big Hollis does 5 songs, Vince V does 4 and Preach does 1. If you have Layzie & Young Nobles "Thug Brotehrs" or any of Bizzy's albums on Real Talk Ent. you've already heard most of the verses and I'd skip it.

2 out of 5 stars HUGE Disappointment!.......2007-05-14

I can't believe I am about to write a bad review about a Bone CD, BUT... I was really anticipating the release of this album, and paid $18 to get it the day it came out, only to be incredibly disappointed. I really have to wonder if Layzie and Bizzy even know that they released a new Bone Brothers CD? The entire disc is composed of recycled lyrics from Midwest Cowboy and Thug Brothers... I don't think there are any new verses at all. I will say I liked most of the beats though, but that's about it. Normally I can put in a Bone CD and just let it play through, I tried to listen to this disc twice and gave up... The first Bone Brothers album was WAY better. I can't believe they let this crap get released..... this is going to be added to my CD rack just to help complete my collection but will otherwise just be collecting dust.

2 out of 5 stars Not recorded together.......2007-05-13

This CD is not recorded in the studio together. Rather Bizzy Bone and Layzie Bone acapellas are taken off of other CD's and put over new beats. This per say is a remixed album of Thug Brothers Vs Midwest Cowboy. As other reviewers say the beats are no where near the quality of the originals. Not to mention the verses have no theme on tracks as it can be noted that there is no chemistry flow and have awkward feelings. For a bone duo check out thug brothers instead of this disc. Thug Brothers is a hip hop collaboration of Bones' Layzie and the Outlawz' Young Noble.

1 out of 5 stars a sad disgrace .......2007-05-11

just like the other two who have reviewed this cd i am disgusted by what real talk ent. did i love the label but do even layzie and bizzy know that they put an album out of thug brothers and midwest cowboy mix'd up its just sad i did like the beats tho and thats about it i want my money back for that one well because i have to give it a rating to go through i put it at a one but it doesnt deserve it

Album Description

This is the album fans have been waiting for: it's been the topic of disscusion for years and now the album is complete. The album also features production by platinum producer Mike Mosley (who produced for 2 Pac, E-40, The Click, TQ and many others). The hypnotic harmonies that defined the Bone Thugs N Harmony multi-platinum sound is back, but this time it's with a twist of hardcore reality that 2 Pac's Outlawz are known for bringing. Includes the stand out tracks like 'We Can Get It On' and 'What The Problem Is'. Real Talk. 2006.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars A great CD . .......2007-04-07

I bought this album for two reasons: One, I'm a big fan of Bone Thugs and Outlawz, and Two because it was on sale at Now-Defunct Tower records. When I finally listened to it, I was blown away. It was a great CD, it had alot of good songs. The beats were were superb, the lyrics were amazing. This is the kind of CD Bone Thugs and Outlawz would of made earlier if Pac & Eazy were still alive. This is a A+ , flawless classic, despite being underground. I recommnend it to Pac & Eazy fans. I hope Layzie Bone & Young Noble do a Thug Brothers 2 CD! That's how good it is.

5 out of 5 stars great cd...period.......2006-03-30

now a lot of cds have dropped lately and i have copped a lot of them i.e. scarface product one-hunnid, south star generals pt. 3, can't ban the snowman. BUT this cd is way better than all of them. This is one of those rare cds that you can just about play all the way through. This is a great cd and I would suggest that you go out and grab this one right away.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good collabo from Noble and Lil Lay.......2006-02-24

2 of my all time favorite groups each have a member represented on this one, Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony gets with Young Noble of the Outlawz and brings a decent album. Not quite as good as Layzie's collabo with Bizzy Bone from early 2005, and a little better or even with Noble's "Collabo" with JT The Bigga Figga from late 2002. Short, with 10 songs, and just them 2 on every track, they go good together but I would have expected a little more. As a few reviewers noted there are some recycled verses used. Of the 10 songs, 1 is almost a classic, 1 is possibly skip material and the other are all decent, not great and not bad. Production is decent but not great. Big Hollis does 8 songs (he's average if you ask me) and Mike Mosely does 2 (not near as good as he usually does). For their fans cop it but both have been involved in much better.

5 out of 5 stars Another Good CD From Layzie Bone.......2006-02-13

This was a pretty tight CD. It was a more layed back CD then what you normaly get from Layzie Bone. Both Lay and Young Noble fit really good together and made this CD a good one. I think that when this year is over this will be one of the best CD's that nobody heard of, which is pretty sad. Fortunately there will be a lot of Bone Thug music this year for all the fans. Bizzy is dropping 5 CD's, Layzie is dropping 1 CD, Krayzie is dropping 1 CD, and Bone Thugs as a group is dropping 2 CD's (either with or without Bizzy). Keep supporting the best rap group ever!

BONE THUGS 4 LIFE!

4 out of 5 stars Dont sleep on this!.......2006-02-11

Yo, i'm a mad 2Pac fan, so with that comes love for outlawz and bone thugs, this album is one of the best laidback albums u'll find out there, Layzie Bone and Young Noble compliment each other well, both can spit raw but keep it smooth on this album, the rap game is really missin albums like this nowadays, and im glad i grabbed this one when it came out.

Had this album for a lil bit now, its a real chillin album, just put it on in ur car or at home at night, dont play it loud its not for that, dont be expecting any party bangers, its a real laidback album and a real good one at that.

5 out of 5 stars Great Reunion (of sorts) Album.......2007-05-04

I've had this CD since it came out and its still capable of being listened to all the way through. Again, the Bone Thugs boys prove they are at their best when they're all together, Bizzy adds an element that I found their new Strength & Loyalty album (a solid release) lacking. Also if you like this, Bone Brothers 2 was released this week, though it appears to be strictly Layzie & Bizzy.

4 out of 5 stars Bone brothers Back .......2006-02-07

I hate people that call themselves Bone lovers but dont know nothing Look this was a album to show that Layzie and Bizzy made up and Bizzy forgave Krazyie for dissing him It went hard to me except those soft ones But wasnt "EVERYDAY" just like bone thugs, whats friends, and **** ryder is some of my favs too. man they need to drop that new album, but none of the soft stuff and they need to promote better I didnt know about this album for too long

1 out of 5 stars This album is pointless.......2006-01-26

I Agree with of the one star reviews on this album, this album is so pointless and a major dissapointment from two of the members of bone thugs & harmony, there is one good song from the album and that's it.

This is a painful experience from the bone brothers.

Big thumbs down for me.

1 out of 5 stars What Can I Say?.......2005-10-24

This is an album that you will either love with a passion or HATE. I chose the latter. I could just drive around D.C. with Bone Thugz Greatest Hits in my deck all day. So of course, when I heard the strong single,"What's Friends" on Music Choice I made the decision to get the album that same day. Unfortunately, that's the only song I bump on the CD. It's is one of my favs, but the rest of the album is SAUCE!!! I didn't understand the pop-hip-hop feel of most of the album, and a good part of it was skits. What the hell happened? Any album that has a Bone-Thugz member should be classic, but... Please, please don't spend yo money on this album, just download "What's Friends" and make a mix with that track on it. Enough said, I'm out.

1 out of 5 stars NO NO NO NO.......2005-10-06

Two Words for this bulls**t they call an album: STRAIGHT GARBAGE!!!!!!!! What were they thinking. Bone Thugs are my favorite rap group of all time, but what the hell is this? Every track is horrible. They could've left this CD at the record company. If I could, I would give this CD 0 stars.

      2 out of 5 stars A Real Review (2.5 Stars).......2005-04-23

Truth be told, this album isn't completely wack. Is it dangerously close? Yes. But two things keep this album from being wack: 1)decent (not great) production and 2)Krayzie Bone. If it wasn't for those two things, this album would be a certified drink coaster.

There are plenty of reasons for why I think this album is mediocre. Apparently, Bizzy Bone has completely forgotten how to rhyme. Layzie Bone still has an ill flow, but he's not saying anything worth hearing. Just about every member of Bone has been rapping about "haters", backstabbers, and weed since they came out. It's time they update their content. Also, too many of the songs suffer from drowsy production and lame hooks. "D*ck Rider" would be a perfect example because the beat is weak, the hook is awful, and it doesn't really make sense if you listen to it.

There are some decent joints to be found though. "What's Friends" is cool if you can get past Bizzy's inability to stay on beat. The sad thing is the fact that the best moment of the entire album only lasts for 32 seconds. "Felicia Skit" should've been stretched into an entire song. "Hip Hop Baby" has a nice beat to it and Lay, Kray, and Biz all hold their own. "Real Life" is another decent track where Treach (from Naughty By Nature) and Krayzie make strong appearances. Honestly, the only good songs are the ones with Krayzie Bone on them, and not even all of those are good. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm a Krayzie Bone super fan. In fact, I always thought Bizzy and Layzie were the two illest members of Bone.....until I heard this album.

I can't really reccomend this to anyone. I guess if you're a longtime fan of the Bone/Mo Thugs family then I guess you'd have to get this to complete the collection, but I can't see anyone else buying this. Buy at your own risk. I reccomend downloading it and testing it out first.

Standout tracks: Real Life feat. Krayzie Bone & Treach, Felicia Skit (My Favorite), What's Friends feat. Krayzie Bone, Need Your Body feat. Krayzie Bone & Kareem, Hip Hop Baby feat. Krayzie Bone, and Give It To Me feat. Felicia Howse

A sampling of reviews of "William Howse & Jack Pearson"...

"Two old friends, two bluesmen extraordinaire, two kindred spirits, two brothers. William Howse and Jack Pearson combine their love of the blues and their natural affinity and connection to each other to give us an outstanding look into acoustic blues songs and stylings. Twenty years or more of playing the blues together allows these fine musicians the opportunity to come up with a front porch collection of original tunes, easy to listen to, with much to say and even more to ingest...a real gem of great blues. Stripped down and very basic, the CD features only William's harp, Jack's National steel body guitar, and vocals from both men...musicians of the finest order...simply stellar and worth getting by anyone who is schooled in the blues in any way..."
          Hittin' the Note Magazine

"Authentic...Gutbucket blues, complete with harmonica wuffing and bottleneck guitar. 'Old School' and proud of it."
          Music Row Magazine

"fine harp playing and nuanced vocals...with interesting licks that feel right, tonally and texturally. [Howse's] playing and singing interweave seamlessly with Jack Pearson's sympathetic guitar accompaniment...his slide work on National steel has a sweet, sometimes mournful quality that works well...a solid first release."
