Wow!.......2002-02-21

I have 2 toddlers who absolutely LOVE these songs. They are short, silly, fun, and they teach things like colors, down & up, and body parts. The music is from songs I have known all my life, and the lyrics not only keep my kids moving, but slows them down toward the end for rest time. I am very happy with this CD, because we don't have a yard for the kids to play in, and it's like planned play time for them. For once nsomething I bought does what the company says it does.

I purchased both of these CDs for my 2 year old, who loves it! She knew most of the songs within just 3-4 weeks. She's learned commands like... "up", "down", "bend", "sway", "stop", "turn", and others in such a fun way... even I join in and get a good work-out while helping her with her moves. She has her favorites, but the music & songs never get annoying. I can't wait for the video!

Of the many fine albums Jim's released, I'd have to say this is one of my favorites! It's aptly described in the liner notes as "everything but the kitchen sink", and the net result is just good, fun listening. Jim shows his talents here not only as a musician, but a fine composer as well. A world-class musician surrounded by other world class musicians - how can you go wrong with that? You don't have to be a tuba player to appreciate a well-produced, highly-polished piece of work...

Album Description

Differences In Space is an album of lively new age music. This is not meditation or background music. Each of the 20 tracks is unique and has a style of its own. There are no vocals. Everything is synthesizer but it doesn't always sound like synthesizer. Today synthesizers can simulate the sounds of acoustic instruments very realistically. The synthesizer simulated sounds of flute, piano, guitar, drum, marimba and other acoustic instruments are used on this CD. Three of the tracks are based in rhythm and percussion. Theses are Controlled Chaos, Sensible Nonsense and Craziness To The Second Power. The two tracks that could be considered space music are Harmonious Space and Cricket Chorus. Most people who enjoy classical, popular and light rock should enjoy the music on Differences In Space.
