Solsonics....where are you?.......2005-02-26
I was lucky enough to discover the wonderful sounds of solsonics about 10 years ago on a date where I saw them perform at the Black Cat in Washington, DC in 1994. I'd never heard anything quite like them before. I was just in awe. Some have compared sols to Brand New Heavies and I would agree to a certain extent except that sols include the reggae feeling and texture that is unique. If you think you'd like the fusion btwn reggae, jazz and just plain old peace, love and soul music - you should buy this CD while supplies last. I have been listening to this CD for about 10 years and have been hoping, without success, to find something new from this group. Solsonics....where are you?
An Eclectic Mix.......2004-05-25
Take a smooth groovy trip through the world of the Solsonics. I don't know where they are now but this trip is incredible. They are a down home riff based, jazz and funk fused band (ala Brand New Heavies) that put the groove into groovy. There's reggae, jazz mixed with funk and soul. Do yourself a favor and find this CD. Although out of print, I'm sure it's available used on this site. Take a ride with the Solsonics and you won't be dissapointed.
Good acid-jazz-funk.......2003-04-11
This is very tight, acid-jazz-funk. I am writing this review as I listen to this cd. I have had it for a few years, just happened to run across it one day and took a chance without having heard this cd and I had no idea who the Solsonics were. The chance paid off. This is good music which is similar to the Brand New Heavies and Incognito. I see that this cd is now out of print but is available used on this website. It is worth buying anyway you can get it. I have brought used cd's through this site and the cd's are in good condition. Take a chance on this cd, you won't be sorry. Where are the Solsonics now?? I wish they would record another cd.

My first Acid-Jazz CD and still one of my favorites. It is beautiful and deep. Because of it's age (for acid-jazz) it is now nostalgic as well. I wish that they would get back together and record some more please!
