Fifty years after a 21-year-old Elvis Presley first shook the world comes a reissue of the famed Million Dollar Quartet recording, the off-the-cuff Sun Records jam session where Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash joined Presley for a loose-jointed romp through 46 songs. Except that's not quite right--Cash either put down his part off-mic or rolled out his big baritone-bass when the tape wasn't rolling (the more likely explanation). So that, as Colin Escott writes in his liner notes, technically makes this a $750,000 Trio. And while this new edition is billed as the "complete" quartet--since 12 more minutes surfaced on a tape of superior sound quality found in Elvis's private collection, and the session is now in its right sequence--it obviously isn't the whole thing. (The 12 extra minutes are essentially four short instrumentals and "Reconsider Baby" at the start, as well as bits and pieces at different points throughout the CD.) But what survives is nevertheless fascinating, of course, not only for the historical record but for the fervor the three bring to a handful of spirituals (their finest moment) and how young Presley--who is already recording for RCA, and has just been dropped by Sun--presents himself. His new notoriety brings out a cocky charm, as he devotes much of these renditions of "Don't Be Cruel" and "Paralyzed" to an imitation of Jackie Wilson imitating him (Elvis knows Wilson only as one of Billy Ward's Dominoes), and boasting that Pat Boone recorded a song that Elvis wouldn't even audition. This fly-on-the-wall voyeurism should appeal to any student of rock 'n' roll history. But serious Elvisphiles will especially enjoy hearing Presley talk about the seeds of recording "That's When Your Heartaches Begin," mimic Hank Snow on "I'm Gonna Bid My Blues Goodbye," and express bemused ire over Faron Young, who had sent him a song ("Is It So Strange") he hoped Elvis would record. "He didn't want to give me none of it--he wanted it all, you know," Elvis says with a chuckle, supposedly referring to the publishing/writing credit, something Elvis's manager, the iron-fisted Colonel Tom Parker, demanded. As the trio moves through a plethora of material--Christmas songs, gospel, blues, R&B, country, pop, Dixieland, cowboy, and bluegrass--they become the hammer, anvil, and steel, forging a new form of music. What you have here, then, is no less than the sound of it, taking shape. --Alanna NashCustomer Reviews:

Spanning the punk and garage rock globe--from snot-nosed trailer-park kid fronting the legendary Stooges to universal pop culture icon and influential granddaddy of punk--the career of Iggy Pop has reached its fifth decade, and this remastered 37-track, chronologically sequenced set has been christened to hold us over while we wait for the definitive box set. Commencing with "1969," "I Wanna Be Your Dog" and "No Fun" from the Stooges' trailblazing debut album, the first disc provides a ringside seat to the band's keg-of-dynamite demise Raw Power ("Search and Destroy," "Gimme Danger," and the title track, though omitting the spellbinding "Shake Appeal"), the David Bowie-led Pop restoration ("Nightclubbing," "China Girl") and Iggy's solo pinnacle ("Lust for Life," "The Passenger"). While the second CD is patchy (spotting synthesizers for guitars too often) and erratic (missing notable songs from the Soldier and Party albums), it does include duets with Debbie Harry ("Well Did you Evah") and the B-52s Kate Pierson ("Candy"), 1993 live versions of the Stooges "TV Eye" and "Loose," and the first Stooges studio partnership in 30 years, "Skull Ring." --Scott HolterAmazon.com

A GREAT TRIBUTE TO THE GODFATHER OF PUNK THAT HAS DONE IT ALL! .......2007-07-09
JAMES (JIM) NEWELL OSTERBERG A.K.A. IGGY POP will forever go down in Rock n' Roll history and be remembered for not just composing and recording some of Rock's all-time greatest sacred anthems ever, but for his stage antics and raw energy he displays and delivers while he's on stage. Even IGGY'S legendary stage wardrobe's are the real stuff that is made of Rock legend. IGGY POP without a doubt would join the ranks of ALICE COOPER and DAVID BOWIE when it came to giving a real Rock n' Roll stage show. When Iggy's on stage, he like a man possessed and does things on stage that not even THE SEX PISTOLS' Johnny Rotten would even dare to do. IGGY POP will also forever be remembered for being the true genuine original GODFATHER OF PUNK. IGGY POP was performing Punk Rock long before THE RAMONES, THE SEX PISTOLS or even THE CLASH came around on the scene. These legendary bands would indeed owe a great deal of respect and gratitude to IGGY especially since IGGY wrote the rules as to how a frontman or frontwoman would conduct his or herself on stage. Everything that you can possibly ever imagine a frontman doing on stage, believe me when I say to all of you today that IGGY has done it all and beyond. Extraordinary examples are witnessing IGGY deeply cut himself all over his chest with a blade while he has this incredible way of lunging forward and falling on his chest and at the same time, grab the bottom of the microphone without hitting or bashing his head on the floor. If you were to see IGGY in action, you would never believe it. IGGY POP has been recording and releasing great albums along with entertaining sell-out audiences the world over with his spectacular stage shows since 1969. His most memorable band is THE STOOGES with whom he originally gained his worldwide fame and stage reputation as a Punk Rocker to be dealt with. Which now brings me to this legendary anthology album I'm about to review for all of you today. "A MILLION IN PRIZES, IGGY POP, THE ANTHOLOGY" chronicles and highlights the many hit songs that IGGY POP delivered to world throughout his incredible career. In my opinion, this legendary anthology album is without a doubt, a true testament of the brilliance and musical creativity of a masterminded genius. This legendary compilation album is also a fine fitting tribute to a great legendary frontman that was truly indeed, far ahead of his time. This album is the tales in the life and times of IGGY POP, his music is his story that speaks for itself.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS MUSIC SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD! It is now time to let the Rock n' Roll music of IGGY POP to speak for itself and back it up by doing all of the talking musically as IGGY truly intended for it to be listened to and heard. "A MILLION IN PRIZES, IGGY POP, THE ANTHOLOGY" from 2005 begins on DISC ONE with the explosive a*s kicking Punk Rocker "1969," the static guitar blasting and a*s kicking Punk Rocker "No Fun," the reverbing whining guitar and a*s kicking Punk Rocker "I Wanna Be Your Dog," the blistering Punk Rocker "Down On The Street," the merciless a*s kicking Punk Rocker "I Got A Right," the incredible and limitless energetic a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Gimme Some Skin," the slow teaser that erupts into a fast a*s kicking Rock n' Roll explosion unimaginable, "I'm Sick Of You," the breathtaking a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Search And Destroy," the amazing acoustic turned electric a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Gimme Danger," another a*s kicking blistering Punk Rocker "Raw Power," the extraordinary a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Kill City," the slow synthesized special effects Punk Rocker "Nightclubbing," the synthesized a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Funtime," the a*s kicking Punk Rockin' version that was also recorded by DAVID BOWIE, "China Girl," the slow but powerful Punk Rocker "Sister Midnight," the slow turned fast paced synthesized Punk Rocker "Tonight," the loud a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Success," the vibrant a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Lust For Life" and the groundbreaking Punk Rocker "The Passenger." END OF DISC ONE.
DISC TWO begins right where DISC ONE left off with the a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Some Weird Sin," the incredible sounding Punk Rocker "I'm Bored," the in your face Punk Rocker "I Need More," the 50's sounding a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Pleasure," the dark sounding Punk Rocker "Run Like A Villian," the synthesized BOWIE sounding Punk Rocker "Cry For Love," the forever IGGY POP stamped trademark synthesized Punk Rock anthem "Real Wild Child (Wild One)," the explosive a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Cold Metal," the mind blowing a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Home," the beautifully slow smooth turned fast paced Punk Rocker sung with KATE PIERSON, "Candy," the upbeated a*s kicking Punk Rocker sung with Deborah Harry, "Well, Did You Evah!," the merciless a*s kicking Punk Rocker "Wild America," the blistering previously unreleased a*s kicking live version of "T.V. Eye," another a*s kicking previously unreleased live version of "Loose," the beautifully slow electric acoustic turned slow electric Punk Rocker "Look Away," the tough and rugged Punk Rocker "Corruption," the slow and mysterious mild Punk Rocker performed with MEDESKI MARTIN + WOOD, "I Felt The Luxury," the bass pounding and a*s kicking electric Punk Rocker "Mask" and the unbelieveable a*s kicking DAVID BOWIE sounding Punk Rock anthem "Skull Ring." END OF DISC TWO. May I also add that all of the musicians that backed up IGGY and contributed their unique style and blend of music during these incredible recording sessions were performing to their fullest potential and beyond their call of duty. IGGY's lead vocals were nothing but incredible. Listening to all of these legendary hit songs, IGGY's voice has a rare blend of Mick Jagger and David Bowie. IGGY'S vocals were definitely on fire while laying down the vocal tracks during all of these recording sessions. I have to commend them all on a great job well done.
I would like to highly recommend this legendary anthology album for everyone of all ages to own as a valuable and important part of his or her own personal music collection. This legendary compilation album has already proven to stand the test of time and will always be around to be enjoyed, appreciated and cherished for many years to come, NOW AND FOREVER. You may also want to research further into and check out the many other IGGY POP greatest hits compilation albums as well as his previously released studio albums. In doing this, you will have found the ultimate album that is right for you and suits your music tastes and needs. You will also realize that you have taken a giant step in owning and starting your very own personal IGGY POP music collection. If possible, you should also check out IGGY POP'S live concert performances on DVD, it will leave you breathless. You can do all of your researches and album purchases either on Amazon com or at your nearest local Borders Books and Music store.
In closing, IGGY POP has successfully continued in releasing great albums along with touring and performing to sell-out audiences the world over up to this very day. IGGY POP has bluntly acknowledged that he will do ANYTHING on stage just to grab the audience's attention. IGGY'S fans adore him for it and displays their very own approval in the audience as a result. When you think about it, its the fans that keep IGGY POP breathing and carrying on living. The fans flow through IGGY POP's blood and veins resulting in IGGY to show his true emotions on stage. IGGY POP LOVES AND NEEDS THE STAGE. With this in mind, it is safe to say that IGGY POP is here to stay and isn't going anywhere anytime soon. And because of this, IGGY POP has forever left his place and mark in Rock n' Roll history and his many contributions, accomplishments and achievements will never be forgotten. Knowing IGGY, he's still not about ready to rest on his laurels just yet. There will also be many new tales and stories in the IGGY POP legend and legacy that would still need to be told and written in many pages and chapters. But that, my fellow readers and reviewers, you will just have to stay tuned and read further more about it at a later date. So here's to you Jim, A.K.A Iggy. Thanks for the great memories and moments with many more still yet to come. Keep Persevering. Keep The Faith. And as the saying goes, "AND THE REST IS ROCK N' ROLL HISTORY," need I say more? Thanks for reading my review and I truly hope that you have enjoyed reading it as much as I have truly enjoyed writing it for your reading pleasure. I also deeply hope that you will read all of my other reviews in the near future when time permits. IGGY POP RULES! Long Live Rock n' Roll. Rock out always and take it easy. Forever in Rock, John L.
Creative Anger Followed By Regular Anger.......2006-11-15
Disc 2 is revelry smothered by cliches. The first few tracks on the disc have homogenous production values that make all the songs sorta blend into each other. The cod-Bill Idol phase (from the Blah Blah Blah album) is rather amusing, since the slick production makes Iggy seem like the glossiest rebel ever (and that's not a bad thing). After that, however, tracks like Cold Metal and the like reveal a complacency characterized by yelling over the most contribed riffs. Nothing special. The latter tracks share one thing: bloody awful production values. These sound like they were recorded in a Third World radio station's maintenace closet in 1965. At least the live tracks (re-hashes of Fun House tunes) revive the raw aggression of the Stooges.
I'd say that forking over the extra dough to get this set, when you could get the one disc compilation, seems rather extreme. Just get the 1996 compilation and then buy all three Stooges albums. If you're really curious, get Iggy's late 70s albums and Blah Blah Blah. And that's about it. It's not plausible that you'll be tempted to delve into most of his 90s work.

A Million in Prizes: The Anthology.......2006-05-05
Pop Rocks.......2006-03-22
Roughly divided up into the four eras of Stooges-fronting, Bowie-befriending, 1980s commerciality and 1990s icon(oclast), the double disc package A Million In Prizes fulfils the obligation of presenting Iggy as an enigmatic, genre-hopping artist whose successes have been often down to savvy collaborations. Early Stooges tracks Search And Destroy and 1969 set the bar high for where the trailer park kid could go, but after The Stooges' 1973 post-Raw Power split, the helping hands of David Bowie, Jimmy Webb and even members of The Sex Pistols assisted Pop in his sonic travels. Early solo track Nightclubbing, the slamming beat of Lust For Life and the amusing Iggy drawl of I'm Bored show an artist keen on probing styles far removed from the primordial rock sounds he'd worked on with The Stooges only a few years before.
While Bowie's shadow looms large at the midpoint of this collection during the pair's Berlin recording period, by the time of his 1980s chart successes with Real Wild Child and the Steve Jones co-write Cry For Love, Pop had shown he was no mere pet project for Bowie. With the beautiful Candy (surely the single of 1990, if not the greatest duet ever), the Debbie Harry allegiance Well, Did You Evah? and the neatly cyclical reformation of The Stooges for Skull Ring, A Million In Prizes complements Iggy's sizeable manhood by being a similarly lengthy and exciting package. Here comes Johnny Yen again - rest assured, Pop rocks.

She has already jammed with Gladys Knight in Las Vegas, eloped with influential R&B mogul R. Kelly, and scored two platinum albums--and she's just barely graduated from high school. No, she is not your average teenager, nor is she just another pretty soul singer. On One in a Million, Aaliyah expands on the smooth grooves of her massively successful debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number, and shows that all the life experiences have not gone to waste. The production and songwriting talents of Tim 'Timbaland' Mosley and rapper Missy Elliot give the songs on One In A Million a seductive edge with laidback grooves and cool hip-hop licks; but what really makes this album rise above is the full-grown singer at the controls. On the title track, a magical ballad, Aaliyah casts a cool spell with layered voices and a smoky delivery. With the assistance of Slick Rick, she turns Marvin Gaye's "Got To Give It Up" into a funky hip-hop jam for the end of the millennium. While with "4 Page Letter," one of the album's high points, she intricately details the end of love affair. Artists twice her age could only hope to create a work of such clarity and resonance. --Aidin VaziriCustomer Reviews:

The narrator and writer is a great speaker and holds your attention well. He is definitely knowledgeable. He provides musical examples for each point he makes, so you get to "hear" what he just talked about. I'd say the CDs are about 65% music and 35% narration. You'll learn about the range of instruments, some history, different ways to play them, how they sound, and how they are used in the orchestra. This CD set was a great learning experience and is sold at such a low price!
I recommend this CD for those who want to learn about classical music and those who know about it but are interested in learning more about the inner workings of an orchestra. You'll learn much useful information. For instance, the Rite of Spring (with that eerie start) is written for bassoon! I never knew a bassoon could sound like that but now I do.
The one complaint I have is the last CD. This deals with the orchestra. I wanted more of a tour of how the orchestra has been used through history up to the present. Instead, it was a tour of how different groups of instruments sound. I thought it could have been better. The other 6 CDs are excellent.

Having scored massive USA college and independent station airplay and a video in rotation on MTV Europe and Japan, and having been dubbed a Myspace.com "Artist Of The Week," the Pinker Tones, a Barcelona-based electronica duo, are gaining adherents the world over. On their second album, the cheeky, musically larcenous duo incorporate everything from hot-wired, Super Fly-esque 1970s soul and muscle-headed but endearingly fluffy hip-hop to organ-glazed, beat-trussed bossa nova, with lyrics in English, French, German, and Spanish. "Piccolisima Descarga," 33 seconds of Kraftwerk-like mecho-madness (a relapse occurs during "Maybe Next Saturday"), feeds into "In Pea We Nuts," a wah-wah-frosted instrumental Barry White would have loved. "Pink Freud" reveals what the Beatles might have sounded like if they were still living in Hamburg during The White Album. "Love Tape," with its Ian Anderson-like lead flute, is both intricate and studiedly silly, while "Pinkerland Becaina" is a faux-tropical hallucination. Mister Furia (Salvador Rey) and Professor Manso (Alex Llovet) obviously have a fondness for hand percussion and retro, comparatively cumbersome sonic technologies like the Moog synthesizer and Theremin. But the way they employ them is as new as yesterday seemed while it was happening yet as old as tomorrow will feel the day after. Seductively disorienting, the tunes caress the ear and galvanize the hips like kaleidoscopic sequences of multi-culti déjà vu. --Christina RodenAlbum Description
This dynamic duo from Barcelona have enjoyed success around the world with their intoxicating mix of electro, pop, dance, Latin, and lounge. Their stateside debut contains infectious beats laced with lyrics in English, Spanish, French, and Italian. "One of the most talked about bands of the year" - Loaded, UK. "A cult sensation taking the world by storm" - FHM, South Africa. Their sensational music video, "Sonido Total", is stirring up interest around the globe.Customer Reviews:

As the godfather of modern-day turntablism, Qbert has been long overdue for a solo release. Wave Twisters is the obvious brainchild of Qbert's long-term fascination with sound and its malleability: using stacks of eclectic vinyl as his fodder, Qbert creates an album of songs by turning scraps of found sound into everything from rhythm sections to melodic tracks to quirky pieces of dialogue. You don't need to understand the technical complexities of scratching to appreciate it; Wave Twisters is simply the future of the funk--sonic play transformed by an equal mix of aural insanity and genius and put all back together by the hands of a master. --Oliver WangAlbum Description
DJQBert's Wave Twisters (Classic Cassette Tape) - The classic that spawned the movie." As you may know by now, this album is a concept album. Not only in story but in things I wanted to do in music as well. I wanted to have a variety of songs offering new and different things from skratch styles, to ways of composing, to ideas that people can make something new out of. At the same time, keeping its story line"

Album Description
Jerry Goldsmith's death in 2004 marked the end of one of the greatest careers in film composing. This lavish 57 track 4 CD set traces the path of his astonishing achievements and includes recordings conducted by Goldsmith himself. Featuring The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonia Orchestra, The National Philharmonic Orchestra, and The Daniel Caine Orchestra. Includes over 280 minutes of music.Customer Reviews:
Awesome Set!.......2007-07-01
Elmer Bernstein Film Music Collection.......2006-11-03
Overall a strong Goldsmith sampler.......2006-04-11
Fortunately, even an ugly cover will not ruin good music. And the good news is that I'd say about 75 percent of the music is good....and on a 4 cd set, that's a lot. Like other Silva compilations, the strength of this compilation is the variety. There are selections from the big releases (Star Trek, Omen, Rambo), but there is also a healthy dose of tracks from the smaller releases(Under Fire, Lionheart, The Swarm).
Two examples come to mind. Capricorn One and The Great Train Robbery are two movies that are not exactly household names today, but are dominated by two of Goldmith's finest main themes. The City of Prague Philharmonic come through with terrific renditions. And there are plenty of other strong performances...a few being concert versions conducted by Goldsmith himself. Suprisingly, "The Wind and the Lion" works, which is no small accomplishment given the ferentic original performance of "Raisuli Attacks".
It's not a complete success. A few of the performances fall flat, particularly some of the more inventive scores. Total Recall is just bad, mangling the performance with poor percussion and synthesizer choices to boot. Also a letdown is the Klingon Attack from the first Star Trek movie. The Prague Philhamonic attempt doesn't sound bad--it's just that once you've heard the original soundtrack's "blaster beam" with enough bass to rattle your teeth...well let's just say Silva's version is a little tinny in comparison.
But I shouldn't dwell on the negative. Overall, this is a strong sampler of Goldsmith's variety. There are plenty of quality performances here, and despite a few omissions (noticeably Planet of the Apes)this is a very good release from Silva.
Jerry Goldsmith - 40 years of pleasure.......2006-02-22
Almost the perfect compilation.......2005-12-31
However, as sweepig as it is, there are a few holes in the selection. "First Contact", one of the sweetest and richest compositions from the Star Trek is absent. "The Ghost and the Darkness" is missing and the "Medicine Man" music should include the theme song. By dwelling on several selections from the Blue Max, these were squeezed out. Three full and important movie themes got the axe.
However, all but "The Ghost and the Darkness" are readily available and not overly expensive as is the "Ghost" CD. This is a must have for the TV and movie music fan.
Before there was Hans Solo there was Napolean Solo, before ER there was Dr. Kildare. Jerry Goldsmith IS Sci-Fi. "Resistance is futile.. you MUST assimilate this CD collection."

Amazon.com's Best of 2000
Wim Wenders's films are inextricably linked to their companion soundtracks, with music playing as essential a role as any star actor--just see Wings of Desire, Until the End of the World, and Paris, Texas for proof. And now we have The Million Dollar Hotel. On this outing Wenders turns to U2's Bono, who not only contributes two tracks from his band but also collaborates with a host of outstanding artists, including Bill Frisell, Brian Eno, and Daniel Lanois. Even without the film, the songs resonate with a haunting glory. --Tod NelsonAmazon.com
The soundtrack to a Wim Wenders joint is often as creative and satisfying as the movie itself (see Until the End of the World and Wings of Desire), serving not only as a companion to the film but as a stand-alone work of art. The Million Dollar Hotel is no exception, indeed it ups the ante. The film is based on a story conceived and written in part by U2's Bono, and his influence is all over the score. U2 contribute three stunning songs, most notably a collaboration with Daniel Lanois, "The Ground Beneath Her Feet," a soaring pop ballad with lyrics penned by writer Salman Rushdie (from his novel of the same name) that stands among the best U2 cuts ever recorded. In addition, Bono joins the all-star "Million Dollar Band" (comprising Mr. Fly himself, Daniel Lanois, Bill Frisell, Brian Eno, and others) for a host of great tracks, including the ethereal groove of "Never Let Me Go." And as if that weren't enough, The Million Dollar Hotel also features a duet between Brad Mehldau and Frisell ("Tom Tom's Room"), a surprisingly smoky cover of Lou Reed's "Satellite of Love" by model-actress-chanteuse Milla Jovovich, and a raved-up, Americanized, Spanish-language version of the Sex Pistol's "Anarchy in the U.K." ("Anarchy in the USA") sung by Tito Larriva with the Million Dollar Band. Despite such a wide ranging host of contributors, Bono's sure hand keeps the album within the same emotional spectrum, colored by a kind of melancholic longing and a wistful wonder, resulting in not only one of the best and most original soundtracks ever recorded but a sure nominee for Album of the Year. --Tod NelsonCustomer Reviews:

I'll keep listening but so far its a disappointment.
Buy it for the Frisell stuff.......2005-03-23
Unfortunately, you'll have to skip over the song titled "Satellite of Love" because Milla screams and gargles over a good portion of it, leading me to cringe uncomfortably - I really like her in movies, but this vocal performance is sad and annoying.
But aside from that, the album is worth buying for the reasons I gave above.

Album Description
Looping and multi-tracking his voice onstage to create his own live backing tracks, Kid Beyond layers his transcendent singing voice over his own beatboxing and vocal instrumentation. The result is a riveting brew of pop-electronica that has drawn comparisons to Gorillaz, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Thievery Corporation and M.I.A. His live show has been called "Amazing truly impressive" (Keyboard Magazine); "Deep, powerful " (SF Weekly); "Fiercely charismatic truly mesmerizing" (East Bay Express); "Kid Beyond's mouth is something you must hear." (Remix Magazine).Kid Beyond's diverse vocal talents converge on his debut EP, Amplivate. Produced by alt-hip-hop wizard Alias (Anticon Records), San Francisco's The Rondo Brothers (Dan the Automator) and LA's Gabriel Mann, Amplivate casts Kid Beyond's soulful singing voice and conscious lyrics in a sea of crunchy break-beats, dubby bass-lines, wobbly turntables, swirling strings, bleepy bloops, distorted guitars all produced from his mouth.
Kid Beyond's career has exploded in the past year. An endorsement video for Ableton Live (the leading music-looping computer software) - of Kid Beyond demonstrating his live-looping techniques in his kitchen - became one of the Web's most viral videos of 2005. Director JJ Abrams (Alias/Lost) requested a Kid Beyond version of the Mission Impossible theme for the MI:3 DVD. VH1 brought him onto their reality show "Supergroup" to fill in for Jason Bonham as a human drum kit, appearing alongside Ted Nugent, Skid Row's Sebastian Bach and Anthrax's Scott Ian. A profile on Kid Beyond landed in heavy rotation on Al Gore's Current TV cable channel. Electronica pioneer BT flew him to LA to collaborate on an all-vocal dance track. Hip-hop / spoken-word legend Sage Francis put one of Amplivate's tracks (the Buddhist-blues anthem "I Shall Be Free") on an upcoming compilation CD.
Having shared the stage with Keane, Lyrics Born, The Coup, Michael Franti & Spearhead, String Cheese Incident, Amon Tobin, KRS-One, Buckethead, The Wailers and Particle, Kid Beyond has attracted an intensely loyal following of techno-Burners, hip-hop heads, jam-band fans, MySpace kids and bloggers worldwide. This "underground legend" is not going to stay underground for long.
