4 out of 5 stars The movie when Thugs Cry.......2004-03-23

My husband and I rented the movie "When Thugs Cry" from blockbuster. This was our first time being introduced to Soundmaster T and Jah-Rista and I must say that we were blown away from the lyrics and overall music on the movie. The movie inspired us to go out and try to find the album. We went from store to store in Kansas City and could not find it. So I came to this website and now they are sold out of it! We want to hear this album in it's entirety and cant wait to get it. From what we heard on the movie the albulm is going to be off the hook!

5 out of 5 stars its my fav. rapper.......2004-01-01

This is my fav. rapper not just because of his rap songs. just because he's a good man!!

4 out of 5 stars Nice album from Soundmaster T and Jah-Rista.......2003-11-06

Although i don't think this album is quite as solid overall as the other reviewers seemed to think(i thought some of the songs were weak with only average raps), it is definately worth having. There are some really nice tracks on this album, some of which were Shine, bamma to the chi, Momma's Smile and What'cha Wanna Do. "Where they at?" is actually my favorite song on the album, and is one of my favorite songs of all time-i love the beat and energy of the song, and it also has a nice verse from Belo of Do or Die. If you can find this album, pick it up.

5 out of 5 stars If you like gangsta $hit and Chi-town you must buy this cd.......2002-04-09

This album is off the hook. Every track is tight as hell, the beats are phat and the rhymes are dynamic. The beats and the rhymes and the flow and the snappin together is sure to make your speakers explode and send a rush of adrenaline through your body. I gaurantee no cd will get you pumped up like this one. The entire album is phenominal but my personal favorites are shine, Bamma to the Chi, and Married to the Game. There aren't any words that would truley do this album justice but if you like fast rappers who snap and tight beats, buy it. YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED!!!!!

4 out of 5 stars very tight album...definitely worth checkin.......2001-08-23

this is the cd that really got me into the whole midwest rap scene it has a very distinctive midwest feel with the tongue twisting flows and also has the dirty south beats which sets well being that jah rista hails from alabama..overall a very tight cd with something i think is hard to find now that being funny skits. If you are a fan of either midwest or the dirty south flavas definitely cop this album

    5 out of 5 stars I love it!.......2007-02-08

I got so into breakdancing over the past few years and got pretty much everything breakdance-related on amazon. This was great and it's one of my favorites of all the purchases I made. I use it to practice my pop-locking along with the How To Do The Robot - Breakdance Instructional DVD or Top 20 Breakdance Moves DVDs on amazon. I LOVE this DVD! Check it out.

    Peace!

    4 out of 5 stars Enlightenment.......2005-10-10

Im sorry, but most of Hip-Hop in the early 80s was "Electro" or had elements of "Electro in the music. "Instead you get alot of electronic boogie, which honestly is not that great for breaking too."...(chuckle), shows how much you know about breakdance culture. Electronic music is what begat the breakdance; so to say that Run DMC is better to breakdance to then Afrika Bambaataa(Yes, its Electro buddy :P), Royal Cash, or Kano is absurd.

5 out of 5 stars Blown Away...This complation is Very Inspiring.......2003-02-16

After reading the other reviews, I had to do this compilation and its label justice for releasing a collection of what the 80's breakdance/synthpop/clubscene was all about. No, the tracks on this album do not feature Cameo or Grandmaster Flash...they disclose the raw, underground, Manchester dance scene that epitomized the development of what is now known as "old-school" and ElectroClash. If you're searching for a cd to play at your next frat-party, this is not it. If you're searching for a cd that true breakdance enthusiasts can dance to, search no more.

3 out of 5 stars More to old skool than hip hop.......2001-06-07

I'm no expert here, but this cd made me realize there's more to breakdancing than Run DMC, Black Sheep, and the host of other beautiful jaw-breaking hip hop beats and tracks. Although this cd really could use more variety in the artist category, close your eyes when you listen and you'll be able to experience the other half of what made breakdancing what it is, low-end elektro beats and crude Speak-And-Spell sampling.

This cd could be better, but appreciate it for what it means, rather than what it is.

2 out of 5 stars there are better.......2000-12-04

I was expecting more old school hip hop when i got this CD. Instead you get alot of electronic boogie, which honestly is not that great for breaking too. There are no well known tracks like Run DMC's its like that, Afrika Bambaataa's Planet Rock, Wildchild's Renegade master, or any Rock steady crew songs. I personally like to break to Bomfunk MC's, or Freestylers and so would recommend those titles over this one. Nevertheless, some of the songs are quite good but the album as a whole is just not worth it. The songs are so similar and many are just remixes. Any aspiring Bboy should not get this CD.
