5 out of 5 stars Woo Hoo!.......2007-05-07

This is by far the best CD in the Baby Einstein collection--it will put your toddler in hyperactive playful mode and exhaust you as you try to keep up. But for today's overweight, tv- and game- addicted children, this is great!

5 out of 5 stars Einstein.......2007-04-09

Anything that has an Einstein in the title my twins love. I used to play this for them at night while they slept.

5 out of 5 stars The baby danced........2007-03-09

I gave Baby Einstein: Playtime Music Box to a little boy on his first birthday. He loves it and dances and dances to the music.

5 out of 5 stars A Lot of Fun for Playtime.......2006-01-04

This CD is a lot of fun. The music is bubbly and upbeat and makes you want to get up and dance or just jump around. It's a great way to spend some play time with your kids. And the classical music exposure is a bonus.

1 out of 5 stars Synthesized dreck.......2005-08-13

Why did the producers use synthesizers for this music? It's awful. It's possible to hook kids on classical music using the actual instruments written for it - that's how I got hooked. That's what Mel Blanc and Disney did in their cartoons, Bugs Bunny and Fantasia. I do NOT recommend this CD to anyone. It was a shower gift. If you are not familiar with classical music, then I recommend "Baby Needs Beethoven", which is a collection of music using real instruments (albeit shortened - no full length symphonies here).

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars This is a good cd.......2005-10-01

This is a good mix compilation.but you know they do it in the studio so It's all cleaned up. But RHV has some clean mixing skills. Also bad boy bill with that scratching.Overall it was released back in the day,but it's still the ish!!!!

4 out of 5 stars Great mixing, but so dated.......2004-04-04

I love Richard Humpty Vission and Bad Boy Bill for their heavy beats. This CD truly shows off how great they are at mixing House together. However, these songs are terribly dated. It's 2004... don't go buying CDs from 1997.

4 out of 5 stars Dated hard house CD.......2003-08-15

Excellent mixing, lots of different tracks, classic hard hosue CD. BUT, a lot of the tracks are dated sounding and some have cheesy vocal samples that take away from the quality of the driving hard house sound (cheesy as in cheesy bad, not cheesy good). The sound of this CD is less energetic and more funky than other CDs. Its OK. I might have loved it in 1996, but its kind of boring now.

5 out of 5 stars BBB and R"H"V dropping the bomb!!1.......2001-12-08

HOUSE CONNECTION is an awesome hard-bangin house Cd that all dance music fans should check out. I bought this Cd when it was first released and I still continue to listen to it all the time. BBB and RHV keep the music flowing and their mixing here is flawless. I like to mess around on the truntables, but I wish I had the talent that these 2 guys have. One just has to check out the quality of this Cd and you can see why these 2 guys are probably the best house Dj's in the country right now

5 out of 5 stars BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! --SWITCH!.......2001-07-15

I enjoy listening to this album a lot. From the start, the DJs kick off some very catchy beats and samples, and they just won't quit. Their live shows must also rock, and I definately want to see one before I die. This album contains more than just the usual beat mixing and turntable tricks. On most house music CDs, the DJ(s) would mix similar beats and styles the whole way through, but Richard "Humpty" Vission and Bad Boy Bill never mix the same beat twice, and their styles seem limitless. Anyone who does not like house music because of its repetative and monotonous nature, would probably change their mind when they hear this CD. Even though the music is repetative, the DJs keep the music changing very quickly with perfect timing, keeping the energy high all the time. I have not yet gotten bored over this CD, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to dance.

The grooves come fast and furious with Richard Vission's hyperactive house style. His wax flies at turntablist speed, and the way he restlessly bounces between tracks could spur an ADD epidemic. It's an approach that has made him justifiably famous; he makes most house DJs seem inexcusably lazy. If there's a downside, it's that Vission's torrential downpour of tracks can get too ambitious for listeners looking to lose themselves in the flow. Blending the 54(!) tracks found on his 2000 release Shut The F*** Up And Dance was an exhilarating accomplishment but it struggled to keep such a jigsaw of rhythms together. The first disc of the two-disc set Automatic features another marathon mix, but cuts down to a paltry 20 tracks—a pittance! But have no fear; the man has mastered his genre mixing over the years, and his savvy with playing the vibe over a continuous mix set has never been keener. Few, if any, dance records this year will have anything as fun as his transition from Mylo's "In My Arms (Sharam Jey Remix)"to his own remix of the Bravery's "Fearless." Tracks from INXS and Green Velvet are plenty tasty as well. As a testament to his studio skill, the second disc is nothing but remixes, all presented at their full lengths and left to stand on their own, devoid of quick cuts and blended transitions. The combination just about guarantees something of value for any fan of quality house, or for that matter, anybody who likes to dance at all. -Matthew Cooke

Album Description

Don't think, don't question, just listen: it's 'Automatic' by Richard Vission, a new mix CD out October 4th, 2005 via his recently inked deal with Thrive Records. 'Automatic' is the 10th release in Vission's mix CD catalogue, and his first double CD ever. The first disc is an explosive 20 track mix featuring Mylo, Plump DJ's, The Bravery [Richard's own remix], INXS, Static Revenger, Green Velvet and David Garcia. Disc 2 is a collection of Richard Vission productions & remixes including three original Vission songs: "Automatic," "Somebody" and "Freeze" all featuring Stranger Days. The lead single "Automatic" is a wicked blend of dirty analogue basses, squelchy synths, nasty guitars and a hook that will stick in your head for weeks: "I keep searchin', searchin' for that perfect feelin."

2 out of 5 stars Bummer dude.......2006-03-27

I have been buying Richard since I first heard of him post "Jump" days... I was a little dissapointed with this album. Some really nice singles on it, but if you like Damn that DJ and expect something to back it up (assuming you didn't buy Big Floor Funk) this won't deliver.

4 out of 5 stars Its a pretty good cd.......2005-12-08

This CD makes me want to move. The first one is really good. Good songs with funky beats. If you love older more jumpy house music this really isn't for you. Richard Humpty Vision has relaxed "just a little bit" more in this cd. The songs are just a little more chill, but still hold that funky house feeling. I wasn't to crazy for the 2nd cd. If you are a big true RHV fan who is not STUCK in the past of how house use to be then you should like this CD.

2 out of 5 stars hmph..........2005-11-06

I have enjoyed Richard's mixes for a long time now. I didn't really enjoy this one.

The track selection is pretty lame. Gone are the days of thumping, pounding, make you wanna get off of the couch or dance in the car tracks. This is pretty run of the mill house with some funky beats. The selection is weak, and at times, the mix doesn't seem to flow seamlessly. Trancy-type tracks are thrown in the middle of the set and throw off whatever vibe he was trying to create.

I put down the DJ Dan double cd for this one. I'm regretting this decision.

If you want a cd that is remiscent of Richard's style, buy his old albums and stay away from this one!

2 out of 5 stars Please retire Him.......2005-10-21

I have been a loyal house head for over 15 years and for the first time since Richard has pumped out intense mixes, this is the first time I am dissapointed. It sounds more like electro-pop-rock-digital boring crap. I didnt bob my head or feel like dancing. Is he even trying anymore. If his next album is this bad he will be cutt of from being in my vinyl and cd collection.

5 out of 5 stars Red Bull Energy on CD.......2004-12-22

I have been a fan of RHV since "Shut the F*ck Up and Dance." I got a chance to see him live last year in Wisconsin. It is true that his mixes are all high energy. This CD is no different. It's like a Red Bull on CD, it gives you wings.

Although I am partial to his later mixes than early ones, it is easy for me to say this is easily RHV's best album to date. Many other DJs I talk to believe this CD is too "produced." While I agree that it is very produced, you have to look at the purpose of the album. The album is supposed to make you wanna move. Even if you are in your car. If people are looking for a straight live mix they won't find it here. Average listeners who are not DJ's will not be able to tell the difference. It will just sound very precise and complex, which it is. This album breezes through at least 42 different songs split into 30 tracks over the course of 60 minutes. At times there are three or more different tracks going on at once. I give this album five stars because of the production that went into it. There are a few remixes that RHV has credit for along with a few RHV original songs on this album. I think other people should give him more credit for the additional work that went into this mix. He did not just mix a bunch of other people's music here without putting finishing touches on it. There was actually some blood, sweat, and tears before the mix even got started in the studio.

Over all the album does start off a bit slower than his other mixes. I guess that was just his formula this time. He wants to nibble on your ear and get you warmed up a little before he sticks it in. The CD keeps high energy all the way through with massive build ups and incredible intensity.
The drops and mixes are sealed tight. There is a music video which is OK, but that is just extra. There is literally NOT a dull moment on this CD. If you are new to house music I would recommend this CD. If you have never heard of RHV before and listen to house, you have been munching on small potatoes with no gravy and leaving the juicy steak on the stove.

5 out of 5 stars RHV DOES IT AGAIN!!!.......2004-07-19

I would have to say that RHV's brand new mix CD Big Floor Funk is a good CD, but not his best. It's not as good as his other CD's like Shut The F@*& Up And Dance, or Drop That Beat. It's actually just as good as Damn That Dj Made My Day. Richard is known for his quick mixing skills and smooth transition from record to record. Which makes his CD's so wonderful to listen too. This one is some what different, the difference is that Big Floor Funk has more of a live feeling to it. Which makes this CD not as smooth as other mix compilations. A perfect example is the accapellas he mixes with. It actually takes a while to get an over all feel for the CD.It does on the other hand have some great music. Like his latest single Never Let Me Down and the video that goes with it is some what out there. Or M.I.S.T vs High Contrast: 3 am, and Antione Clamarans Classika. This CD is a good one but again if your looking for his best work look to pick up a copy of STFUAD. Believe me this is one great pick to add to your house selection but again don't expect a flawless mix just a good one.

5 out of 5 stars RHV DOES IT AGAIN!!.......2004-07-19

I would have to say that RHV's brand new mix CD Big Floor Funk is a good CD, but not his best. It's not as good as his other CD's like Shut The F@*& Up And Dance, or Drop That Beat. It's actually just as good as Damn That Dj Made My Day. Richard is known for his quick mixing skills and smooth transition from record to record. Which makes his CD's so wonderful to listen too. 5 out of 5 stars FEEL THE FUNK!!!.......2004-06-11

This CD is truly amazing. It starts you off and doesn't let you go 'till the end!!! Yes, this is a little different from his previous comps but every DJ's style changes over time as their sound matures.

Anyways, "Big Floor Funk" still has all the funk and beats (even a couple of DnB tracks) to get you moving albeit it's not as thumping as his older stuff. Don't get mistaken though - this is still the same RHV you know and he doesn't disappoint with this one. Highly recommended!!!

2 out of 5 stars Looking forward to Love Fest in Hawaii on July 31st........2004-06-04

I've seen Richard three times already. He's a great DJ and fine mother f*cker, hot!!! He never lets the crowd down when he spins live. I was a bit disappointed in this mix because I thought there was a full version of his new single featuring Electrik Children "I Said", but there's only forty seconds of it. I tried looking high and low for that single but can't find it. I listened to the CD three times without skipping. I even used it at the gym. I couldn't get into it. Nothing really captured me to start snapping my fingers or start to break some moves.

I do like that he brought back an old school track from the Jungle brothers "I'll house you" and some new school from Benny Benassai "No matter what you do".

Hey, Richard if you're reading this review. I love your previous stuff and I love watching you spin live. But I wasn't really feeling this one. But you're still the hottest DJ and you always make the people move. Look forward to seeing you @ The Love Fest in Hawaii. Email me at ltorda@hawaii.edu. Take care!!!

5 out of 5 stars MUST LISTEN .......2006-11-20

This is one of those "epic" albums that doesn't come around very often. I appreciate all styles, even though im mostly into Drum n Bass, Chicago House is defined in this album, and the mixing of these pioneers in the scene is utterly amazing, fantastic, and perfect in every way. If you are at all into house/electronica, you must own this album. It is a staple of the genre.

5 out of 5 stars The best use of the CD format of all time.......2005-01-05

This is the disc. It is just sooooooo good, it's disgusting. The most insane mixing, mastering, track selection, hype, beats. Just too good. I've owned like 3 copies of this, they keep getting stolen or too scratched up!

House might never be this good again, this is the pinnacle. Think I'm exagerating? buy the damn thing!

4 out of 5 stars Sweetness.......2003-09-30

This is just too good. First off this cd features Richard Humpty Vision one of my recent favorite house Djs. I had purchased his Shut the F*** up and Dance cd and I wanted more. Then came along Bad Boy Bill, I had heard some of his stuff and it was some premium house. And the fact that they are both here on four turntables mixing the crap out of the song selection is just to cool. Now my only problem with the cd is that it varys to much between fast and slow paced songs. I wish that one type would stay consistant for more than just a minuet or two.
Other than that, this is a good album and I recomend this to any House junky/fan out there.

5 out of 5 stars bangin in hawaii.......2003-05-31

this cd by far is the last true house cd to come out during a time when house was breaking through it had the right timing the rave scene was hitting hits peak and this cd takes on a journey through house. it has everything on it chicago style and l.a house mixed together. if you don't like this cd than you are not into house some of the newer dj's should listen to this as starting point. we miss this sound someone should bring it back/ i still pump this cd even 2003 poeple wanna know who this is. i give this cd a 5 star rating i suggest picking it up!!![.]

For Richard Humpty Vission, quantity is king. The man throws vinyl around like a circus performer doing knife tricks, grabbing his 10th record about the time most DJs are still spinning their first. Like Frankie Knuckles on a massive amphetamine dose, Vission's blend of progressive acid house and urban funk becomes a restless sound all its own when he's working at full strength. That sound can be at turns exhilarating or exasperating, depending on how skillfully he manages his high-wire act between variety and continuity. Last year's Shut the F*** Up and Dance was an impressive but only half-successful attempt, as Vission struggled to maintain a consistent vibe over the course of that record's 54(!) tracks. Here, having pulled back to a relatively paltry 34, the tracks blend efficiently enough to allow the listener time to take in just how infectiously danceable Vission's manic approach can be. Still, he demands quick, sometimes abrupt, adjustments. When the needle drops on the Adrenaline single "Damn That DJ Made My Day," which justifies its title-track status with an incredibly catchy refrain and mountainous bumps, Vission's sudden switch to a stirring Martin Luther King snippet is just too jarring. Overall, however, he pulls it off, creating a disc that, at times, threatens to fly right out of the player in protest over the sheer number of grooves it's being asked to carry out. --Matthew Cooke

5 out of 5 stars pure house mix.......2003-08-20

RHV comes with only the best this cd should get more credit then it did it has it all acid house, funky beats even a dose of chill out i suggest picking this one up if like pure deep house this the best one since drop that beat.

3 out of 5 stars Buy "Shut the F**K up and Dance" instead.......2003-08-15

After hearing "Shut the F*** Up & Dance" I was really disappointed by this CD. Too many indulgent vocal samples added by Humpty Vision (yes, we KNOW you're spinning the music, we bought the CD for fooksakes) and some of the track selections are absolutely infuriating because they bring the energy level to an abrupt standstill. A lot of tracks are also too commercial/mainstream sounding and lower the gritty funky quality that characterizes Humpty Vision's better work.

1 out of 5 stars Oh No!.......2002-12-23

Sorry but I remember on my way back from the mall I wanted to shoot myself in the friggin leg for buying this cd! Had it since it came out and still have not listened to the whole thing. It may have been a better cd if it was put together properly. Do yourlself a favor and pass it up if youre looking!

The "tracks" on L.A.-based house DJ Richard "Humpty" Vission's aptly titled album, his sixth full-length release, come fast and furiously, just as they should from a master turntablist. Ten minutes into the disc, the man has already moved through 12 or 13 songs. The flow is complex but undeniable as he throws the needle down on yet more wax, tossing records around like Frisbees. And he doesn't let himself get bogged down with just house music--he hurls out straight techno, dance pop, soul, and funk with postmodern poise. Along with the work of other waxmen such as DJ Dan, Todd Terry, and Carl Cox (especially on Mixed Live), this record--which brilliantly showcases Vission's manic, house-y vibe--brings the genre one step closer to falling off the precipice of worldwide domination. --Matthew Cooke

    5 out of 5 stars I found it!.......2007-05-12

This is my 2nd copy. A friend let me borrow my first copy, and I never gave it back (that was the 1st time I had ever done that). But since, it had gotten too scratched up and worn. Anyway, this CD gets down. The beats are high octane. What I love about it is that there are alot of anthems....this music takes me back to a happy place. Perfect workout music OR old skool house backyard party. 7 years later and it still gives me the chills.

5 out of 5 stars Greatest Richard Vission Album Of All Time.......2007-02-17

2 out of 5 stars 54 great tracks on 1 CD mix = GARBAGE .......2006-10-24

That is correct, 30 second snippets on 1 CD means that you end up with a disc that sucks. Don't get me wrong, Richard Vission is a great DJ, but this is a disaster. Don't get me wrong, each song on that disc is totally sweet, but you will hear it only for a couple of seconds and then its gone. His other two albums are amazing

    5 out of 5 stars Wicked Mix.......2005-05-13

For the longest time I have hated house music. Ever since I started listening to electronic music I have listened to nothing but trance, trance, and more trance. Lately trance hasn't been doing it for me though, so I decided to broaden my horizons. I just got shut the f*ck up and dance today and let me say thank God I decided to buy it. I haven't heard a mix this wicked in years. RHV is an ill mother f*cker. There is not a trance dj that can touch him. So what if everything on this record is mixed on a computer. If you knew anything about electronic music you would know that thats the way everyone does it in the studio. When you go into the studio you do what you need to do to make the record sound good and wory about live stuff later. We all know what humpty is capable of live anyway. All that matters in the end is the finished product. If you are thinking about buying this record, I highly recomend it.

1 out of 5 stars shut the f- up and actually mix.......2004-07-19

This CD is great if you're a cracked-out raver who doesn't have the attention span to make it through a mix CD with actual substance. While RHV can definitely hold a mix down live, this CD is completely lacking in any character or demonstration of skill. News flash to everyone who enjoys the 'super fast mixing': this CD was constructed almost entirely in the studio. If you're going to cheat and rapidly layer tracks on top of each other this quickly, at least show some skill and pitch-adjust the vocals to match the track you've bastardized into a 15-second blurb before cutting the final copy. Try listening to real techno DJs who actually mix this fast on three turntables instead of doing all the 'mixing' on a computer in the studio.
