Just a fair warning..........2003-12-18

Many of you may be looking for the electroclash band by the same name (W.I.T.) with a self titled release in the same year. I dont think that this is what you are seeking. Here is a review about it:is a sideline project for Chris #2 of the notorious Pittsburgh punk band Anti-Flag, for whom he plays bass; as frontman for Whatever It Takes, he plays guitar and acts as lead yeller. This CD brings together two previous releases: the full-length Fistful of Revolution album and the eight-track Stars & Skulls EP, both of which were originally issued in extremely limited numbers. Both find the quartet carrying on in the same general vein as Anti-Flag, that of noisy but fairly melodic punk rock. The acoustic guitar-based "I Swear This Is the Last Time" actually comes close to being downright introspective, and ends up sounding just a bit like the early Cure.

The soaring strings of the original orchestra led by the late great Mantovani are once again presented in this brand new Vocalion release of two of the maestro's masterpiece recordings first released in 1964 (Folk Songs) and 1968 (Tango). Folk Songs from Around the World will charm and excite listeners with melodies as diverse as Aura Lee (what Elvis sang as Love Me Tender) and the sizzling sounds of Hava Nagila. The highly disciplined orchestra under the baton of Mantovani perform spectacular arrangements of "Two Guitars" from Russia and folk songs from Japan, Europe,and the British Isles arranged with such artistry that they will readily evoke from each listener intense emotions. Starting from the Gong Show, to being one of Luther Vandross' background vocalists, Cheryl Lynn shows the world that she got chops. On "Whatever It Takes", she shows us that she can get down with the best of them. Every track is off da meat rack!

Good For Me...Cheryl.......2006-02-10

This cd from Cheryl Lynn has a hip-hop\R&B mix with tradition R&B and ballads, and the samples are just enough not to overpower Cheryl's powerful vocals or the production of the songs. 'Good For Me' is my song from this cd, it has a nice mid-tempo groove, this song should've been released as a single, but the music sceen was changing and this record I feel got lost, still this a strong set from the Incredible Cheryl Lynn!

Cheryl Lynn has recorded numerous LP's. Among them, this one is what I considered one of her best in recent years. "UPSET" is the opening song to the CD and some may be fickled, but the next two songs make this CD a must have in your R&B collection. "Everytime I say goodbye" and "Whatever it takes" makes this CD worth the buy. The other songs on the CD, I would have to say you must be a Cheryl Lynn fan to appreciate the creativity Cheryl brings forth.

Buy it you won't be totally disappointed.

GOOD RELEASE.......2003-09-23

CHERYL LYNN'S cd "Whatever it takes" finds the talented vocalist taking a more contemporary r&b approach on this 1989 release. Working with JESSE JOHNSON AND LOOSE ENDS on all the songs she ends up with winning results.

The funky song "UPSET" is about Cheryl going through the motions about being lonely. "EVERYTIME I TRY TO SAY GOODBYE" is another uptempo jam (top 10 r&b). The ballad is the title track and it is a standout track.

Cheryl has a major voice and the material she sings on this lp is worthy of it. The songs are carefully crafted to fit her range. The laid back groove of "GOOD FOR ME" is a really good showcase of her voice when its sensual and sexy. The poppy ballad "MOST OF ALL" catches Cheryl going on a vocal rampage. This is a worthy pickup of any fan of Cheryl Lynn. Her voice is timeless and it works with these songs. Buy it, whatever it takes.

I love this Cd, It has so much diversity in it, Whatever it takes has so much possibiliy. It has no bindings it is for all cultures.
