A Full Clip Of BCC {4 Stars}.......2007-03-03
There really isn't much to say here. For those that don't know, as far as artists go, BCC consists of Heltah Skeltah, OGC, Black Moon, Smif N Wessun, The Representativz, Illa Noyz, and a few other fringe artists (like Rustee Juxx, for example). What we have here is basically a greatest hits compilation. If you're a fan of the BCC, then this is pretty much a no brainer. If not, then this isn't necessarily a bad place to start your path toward Boot Camp enlightenment. You have classics like "Leflaur Leflaur Eshkoshka", "Who Got The Props?", "Bucktown", and "Headz R Reddee, Pt. 2". I mean, come on. You can't front on the bangers on this album. Chances are, if you weren't familiar with BCC, you were still nodding to one of their gems in the 90's.
My only beef is that there are tracks that were hits that were left off --like Heltah Skeltah's "Therapy" for example.
Boot Camp Clik's Greatest Hits: Basic Training is pretty much a must have for anyone that doesn't have these songs already. If you own most of the BCC catalog, then there really isn't much reason to get this and that's why I only gave it 4 stars. Don't let that mislead you though. The material is definitely 5 star all the way. I recommend grabbing it if you don't already have this material.
Standout Tracks: No Fear (OGC), How Many Emcee's (Black Moon), Leflaur Leflaur Eshkoshka (Heltah Skeltah & OGC aka The Fab 5), Headz R Reddee, Pt. 2, I Ain't Havin' That (Healtah Skeltah feat. Starang) (My Favorite), Bucktown (Smif N' Wessun), Who Got The Props? (Black Moon), and Black Trump (Cocoa Brovaz feat. Raekwon)
Gotcha open.......2005-07-03
This greatest hits is second only to Ganggstars full clip. If your new to the boot camp pick this up. If you think Meth's voice is ill way to you hear Heltah Skelta. To all my old skool cats you probably already got this cause you know real hip-hop.
Boot camp clik.......2005-02-14
This is a tigth cd with some dope tracks by Black moon, Smif N wessun, OGC, Cocoa Brovaz, heltah Skeltah and some others. The best tracks are "Sound Bwoy Burriel" "Who Got Da props" "Bucktown" and "I aint havin that" overall this is sick and you should get it
What it says- This album is Basic Training in tha Boot Camp .......2005-01-26
This is a good hip-hop greatest hits album made by one of the best crews ever to rip the mic. If you are just discovering the BCC (Boot Camp Click), this album is what the title says: "Basic Training" for ya. If you are familiar with the BCC and don't have most of the solo albums, this is a good compilation to give you 13 bangin' tracks to nod ya head to. The BCC groups on this album are: Black Moon-(Buckshot & Evil Dee), Smif-n-Wessun aka Cocoa Brovaz-(Tek & Steele), the now defunct Heltah Skeltah-(Ruck & Rock), and O.G.C.-(Starang Wondah, Louieville Sluggah, & Top Dog). The 4 Black Moon tracks are classic, and the "I Got Cha Opin [Remix]" isn't on their album. The 3 Heltah Skeltah tracks are also incredible, "Leflaur Leflaur Eshkoshka" is my fav. on the CD. Smif-n-Wessun has 3 tracks, "Sound Bwoy Bureill" being my 2nd fav. on the CD. "Black Trump" f/ Raekwon is also a sick song. O.G.C. throws in 2 tracks, 1 from each of their albums, with each song having a different style. I like them both. Finally "Headz Are Reddee, Pt. 2" includes almost the whole click, and is a masterpiece. Good introduction album for newbies, and solid comp. for those without all the solo albums.
WHY ISN'T THERE BEST SONG ON THIS ALBUM??!!.......2001-11-28
I don't understand why Black Moon does not release their spectacular track "Reality (Killing Every...)" on their compilations. In my mind, this is their best work and I think this is my favorite track that they ever made and it is too, too bad it was only released on the "I got cha opin" 12" inch single. What a smooth beat, what nice rhymes. It makes me go crazy everytime they drop a compilation that this song is not on the album and it hasn't gotten too much exposure either or else people would be feeling what I'm feeling. IF BUCKSHOT SHORTY OR ANYONE FROM BLACK MOON IS OUT THERE AND READING THIS, PLEASE LISTEN TO WHAT I AM SAYING TO YOU: GO TO NERVOUS RECORDS AND DEMAND THEM TO RELEASE THIS ON THE NEXT COMPILATION ALBUM BECAUSE YOU KNOW AND I KNOW THIS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE TRACKS. I tried contacting Nervous, but they gave me the corporate run around. If you haven't heard this track, I HIGHLY advise that you seek it out and do, download it or buy the 12" inch if you can find it until God wakes Nervous and Black Moon's attention to this. By the way, I'm not taking anything away from the other tracks on this album because it's a powerful compilation, but it's missing a major link...God save us!
