Is it forgivable that the second volume of songs from Adam Sandler's mid-'80s-revival comedy begins with Kajagoogoo's famously limp "Too Shy"? Not really, but the rest of the disc does a good job of recapitulating worthy memories from the era of torn-sweatshirt necks and mulletheads--not just with new-wave novelties but with Madonna and Hall & Oates staples ("Holiday" and "You Make My Dreams," respectively) as bouncy and glossy as anything the also-present Depeche Mode ("Just Can't Get Enough") and Dead or Alive ("You Spin Me Round [Like a Record]") ever put on the radio or MTV. The Cars' "It's All I Can Do" and the J. Geils Band's "Love Stinks" encapsulate the Sandler character's romantic frustrations, while the star's own "Grow Old with Me" actually points toward a serious career as a singer/songwriter for our boy. Director Cameron Crowe is the kind of guy who you just know makes killer custom compilations for his friends. Lucky for us, this is basically what this album is. While it¹s nominally linked to Crowe's movie of the same name, it feels like a leisurely stroll down his record shelves. The tone here is a lot more varied than on the first CD, which was mostly rootsy Americana. Sure, there are return artists like Tom Petty ("Learning to Fly," from 1991's Into the Great Wide Open), Ryan Adams ("Words"), and Lindsey Buckingham ("Big Love"), but the newcomers are more intriguing. Two of the best and least expected ones are paired in the middle of the album. The lovely, dreamy "...Passing By" was culled from the 2001 debut by German electronica master Ulrich Schnauss; following it are Sweden's Concretes and their buoyant, '60s-infused "You Can't Hurry Love" (not the Supremes tune). Meanwhile, Rachael Yamagata's "Jesus Was a Crossmaker" is a cover, and it preserves the wonderful mix of folk and pop of the 1971 original by cult icon Judee Sill. This is the rare sequel that feels richer than the album it follows. --Elisabeth VincentelliCustomer Reviews:

Whether just beginning or as an addition to the work you have done. Now there is no excuse not to practice and improve because this CD makes it so convenient and easy.
Do Re Mi Ear and Pitch Training is the second CD to Ariella Vaccarino's series of Voice Lessons To Go (Please read about Volume One- Ocalize and Breath). Do Re Mi trains the ear through vocal exercises. First, start simple with tone recognition. Next, the heart of the CD, Solfedge, (Do Re Mi...)- In that you will concentrate on forms of the major and chromatic scales graduating into chord recognition. Finally, Do Re Mi ends with, Hearing Your Note, showing you how to sing specific notes out of a group.
This CD will be amazing in aiding you in your musicianship skills while continuing to strengthen your voice!
Do Re Mi is perfect for all levels of singers. Whether you are just a beginner who is interested in developing as a musician, or an advanced singer wanting to refine your musicianship skills.
You will be guided through the exercises with vocal examples and piano accompaniment by Ariella Vaccarino an excellent experienced voice teacher and professional singer from Los Angeles. Ariella's explanations are clear and easy to follow.
Developing your singing voice no longer has to be just for people trying to make a career with their voice, or those with disposable income who can afford private lessons. The weekly price for voice lessons averages $45-150 an hour depending on your city.
Who is this CD for?
Singers, Actors, Dancers- This is an inexpensive way for the struggling artist to get and keep their voices in shape.
Teenagers - Whether you are watching American Idol with pangs of desire to be on there, sing loudly along with your favorite pop stars, are trying out for the school musical, or dreaming of singing at the MET some day.
People who struggling singing- There are those out there who feel, (it could be true or not) that they can't sing and are embarassed when they have to be heard by others. This is an excellent private way to improve your singing with out having to deal with embarassment or shyness. This CD will increase your abilities and confidence.

THanks for a great product.
great cd .......2007-01-21
only one thing i'm not feel good is i can hear the noise(like car pass the street).
Good training for your voice.......2007-01-06
Practical.......2006-09-09
This cd starts very simple with the first few tracks asking the listener to identify if two notes are higher, lower or the same. Then it proceeds to identifying if a voice part sung after a vocal part is the same or different. These ear exercises are direct and to the point and really do help. Don't worry, you start singing soon enough.
Solfedge is explained in a concise manner so if you don't know it you will, and if you do your money hasn't been spent on more than a few minutes of review.
The singing starts with Do Mi Sol Mi Dos. I'm a baritone and the singer I would guess is a soprano. Problem? Actually, the beneift was I had to focus and identify the same note a few octaves down. This extra "lesson" on my own is an unintended plus.
Major, minor, augmented and diminished chords are practiced. Your ear will improve and you will hear the chords sung more in songs after getting this down.
I've been using it on my drive to work in the mornings. I have had the cd a few weeks and am just reaching tracks 18 and 19 with confidence. Sometimes Ariella Vaccarino sings quite fast as the exercise proceeds. Simply hit the back button and start at the slower part at the beginning of the track.
It really is great to have this in the car or home as I am getting more out of my weekly voice lessons. Add to that, I don't have to play the piano myself. I can stand in front of the mirror and focus on posture.
This brings me back to cd 1. Though my breathing needs work, a weekly lesson and the time I spent with cd 1 before trying this out helps me recognize when I have tension in my throat or am not controlling my breath.
Why is this alone not enough? There is no way the cd can tell you you are leaning too far back and squeezing your lungs, give you a sense of how to raise your soft pallate or make sure to cover every point such as men usually jump straight from chest voice to falsetto at first while women have more of a gradual mid voice.
When I give this cd 5 stars it means for 15 dollars you are getting a product with no fluff that is the perfect compliment to some type of training. Even if the training is just a few lessons to get you started. You'll get out of it what you put into it.
If out of stock please purchase above NEW on Marketplace.......2006-08-15

Quentin Tarantino wraps up his dizzy double-dose of martial arts film tribute cum informed paean to junk cinema with the throw-it-all-against-wall abandon that's become his cliched trademark, if not necessarily his true strength as a filmmaker. That sensibility has long informed his quirky, world-pop savvy soundtracks as well, though this chapter's collection gratifyingly sacrifices a dollop of eclecticism in favor of a little more focused nuance. Revolving loosely around a decidedly international, free-floating axis of Latin rhythm (Chingon's "Malaguena Salerosa, " the flamenco-demento of Lole Y Manuel's "Tu Mira") and Western twang, Tarantino's choices include Morricone both familiar (The Good, the Bad and Ugly's evocative "Il Tramonto") and less so (Il mercenario's "l'arena," "A Silhoutte of Doom"), fellow Roman film scorer Luis Bacalov's slinky, guitar-driven "The Summertime Killer" and a couple disparate slices of Americana by country legend Johnny Cash and rockabilly loose cannon Charlie Feathers. The director's pop fare covers less adventuresome territory, though Malcolm McLaren's trip-hop take on the Zombie's British Invasion chestnut "She's Not There" somehow seems all-of-a-piece with the retro groove of Shivaree's "Goodnight Moon" and melodramatic kitsch of Japanese actress Meiko Kaji's "Urami Bushi." It's all interspersed with excerpts of Tarantino-penned dialog from the film, snippets that only inspire an even greater admiration for his adventurous taste as musical compiler/supervisor. -- Jerry McCulleyCustomer Reviews:

Music From Kill Bill 2...........2006-10-09
Track 2 - Awesome soft rock song. Shivaree sounds so sexy too.
Track 4 - A great country sounding song, I love the way Charlie Feathers sings! It's kinda funny.
Track 5 - Great spanish song sung by a kid; makes me think of poor dirt road towns in Mexico
Track 10 - Not a big Johnny Cash fan, but the lyrics in this song are great. Seriously.
Track 12 - AWESOME song. I bet 100 bucks you'll like this one
Track 14 - My fav. song on the album. A GREAT latin rock song. Makes me wish I was singing that to a bunch of latinas. Man I'd get so much--err nevermind.
Track 15 - My 2nd fav. song. A great chill song sung by a Japanese Woman. Makes me think I'm in a dark empty bar in Tokyo or somethin. I dont know what's up with the rap music lateron in this track -prob. hidden- but it sucks.
Bottom line, if you have good taste in music, pick this one up. I don't ever buy soundtracks, but this one and the first kill bill OST are in my collection.
missing songs spoilt it for me.......2006-03-03
what is the point of bringing out a soundtrack and missing out songs? should it not be all of them?
i feel bills exit music was a key song that should not have been missed off, as this scene is the whole point of the films, when she finally gets her revenge and should not have been missed.
worth buying but a dissapointment

So there's this pop singer... you may have heard of her? Madonna, she's called, and the word is that she's basically all image; she went through a put-your-hands-all-over-my-body phase, then she got spiritual, and then she started wearing cowboy hats. Between all the gossip columns and photo shoots, though, she's left an unmatched trail of devastatingly wonderful singles--roaring dance records, tender ballads, and a curious combination of the two that is her personal specialty ("Secret" and "Ray of Light"). How many artists' best-of-the-second-decade collections crowd out legitimate hits? ("American Pie," anyone? "This Used to Be My Playground"?) Unlike 1990's Immaculate Collection, GHV2 doesn't have any new material; "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina," from Evita, and the glorious '60s pastiche "Beautiful Stranger" are the only songs that haven't appeared on a Madonna album before. But it compresses her past 10 years worth of records into an hour of one peak after another. --Douglas WolkCustomer Reviews:

Not so great for Madonna's fans.......2007-02-28
However, I was a bit disappointed since it adds nothing special. That is there are no new songs, or special mix.
If you are looking for Madonna's hit songs in one CD, this is a great
album. However, if you are huge fan of Madonna and already having all the CDs of her, there is really nothing special about this CD.
Moreover, many great songs are not included.

Otherwise, it is fantastic,a great buy, and a must have for any Madonna fan.

Disney, Vol. 2.......2006-04-09
As a vocalist, I find the songs themselves to be very simple and easy to learn, however, the reason I bought it was because I wanted something that would help me learn to hear my cues in the music, as opposed to reading from sheet music, which I am more used to. In that, it has served its purpose. However, most people probably want to get this for their kids to have fun with, and telling a young child to learn to hear their cues in the music will probably keep them occupied for all of 5 minutes before they get frustrated. Older children might be able to do it, though.
Now, I'm not a huge Disney fan, but these songs are quite good. The tempo and keys are correct, and while they do not have the original cast vocalists, the singers are pretty darn good, so you do get decent vocalists, which cannot be said for many karaoke CDs. Same goes for the instrumentation. These are not crappy remakes of the songs.
So, I guess if you don't mind reading off the lyric booklet, you can't really go wrong with this CD.

MISLED.......2005-08-23
Awesome.......2004-03-02
before CD's, karaoke was done on audio cassettes. Audio Cassettes did not have lyrics. People had to read off a sheet. People had to learn a song well. People still had fun. The same formula works on CD!
If you've ever bought any other karaoke CD's (esp. at this price range), most of the vocalists are mediocre at best, and the instrumentation ranges from barely acceptable to absolutely horrible MIDI Music.
Contrast this with the beautiful instrumentations and excellent guide vocalists on this CD and you have yourself a 5 star CD at about 1/3 the price and rivalling if not exceeding the quality of the top Quality Karaoke Brands.
The only minor irritant is that on the instrumental tracks, the melody line is played by an instrument (vs. normal karaoke where the melody line is left to the singer only). Minus 1 star for that.
So if you can't handle reading off a lyric's sheet and learning how to really sing the song, then this CD is not for you. But, If you are looking for top notch, well produced Disney Karaoke then you should definitely check out this CD.

Volume I of the immensely popular Mozart Effect series of music attempts to do no less than "strengthen the mind." One thing is for certain: the music chosen on the disc by author and scholar Don Campbell--excerpts from Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 1; Violin Concerto, No. 3; Ein kleine nachtmusik; and others--includes some of the strongest pieces the composer wrote. Though the performers on this disc (Capella Istropolitana, Northern Chamber Orchestra, and violinist Takako Nishizaki) are far from world-class, this is still a delightful collection and one that--at least according to the liner notes--will increase your alertness and perhaps your IQ. Volume II features music for "rest and relaxation," while volume III will "unlock creative spirit." With music this entertaining, who can dispute these claims? --Jason VerlindeCustomer Reviews:
