Customer Reviews:

2 out of 5 stars Too operatic!.......2003-06-17

If you want the songs of Robert Burns to sound like operatic songs, this collection is fine. If you think they should sound more folk, then you will not like this at all. Not for me!

5 out of 5 stars Best Burns music ever recorded.......2001-06-15

I wish these performers would record every single song that Burns wrote, that's how much I think of this precious CD. I must have listened to it 500 times and I still marvel at its perfection. Every song is done to a T; and I have heard most of the songs on this CD performed differently, but never as successfully. This is one CD that should be in print forever. Verdict: indispensible. (And not just for fans of Burns or Scottish music; I'd say fans of "good music" everywhere should buy this one.) So thanks to everyone involved in the making of this fantastic CD.
