5 out of 5 stars Phenomenal!.......2001-12-06

Phenomenal groups. If you want to hear British Brass Bands at their best, this is the CD set for you. There is a wide variety of music; with some of the most exciting brass music I've ever heard. These are all top bands, and they sound like they are performing at their best. If you only own one brass band CD set, this is the one I recommend.

4 out of 5 stars Worth the money for you brass fans !.......1999-12-30

If you are a british brass band fan, (and i know you are out there, dont lie)you will love this 2 cd collection. The first piece buy Sparke "Between the Moon and Mexico"is an amazing 17 minutes long and worth every minute. Only to be topped by the brass band version of the classic basie tune "Lil' Darlin". I never knew a brass band could lay back like that ! The only downer of these cd's is in the second disc, they should not have included the 2nd recording of the Sparke piece, it doesn't compare to the 1st at all. If you like concert band music, you will love these cd's, unless ofcourse you happen to play a woodwind, but then again, even woodwind players should like this music.
