Playing an eight-string guitar, Andrew Schulman offers a lovely collection of varied guitar music and transcriptions ranging from Vivaldi to George Harrison (and even Schulman's own Molly's Dance, a delightful tidbit). The pieces are grouped by mood, which works very well as a listening program. Schulman's mellow, unforced playing, combined with the deep, resonant sound of his guitar (the extra strings are in the bass) and the interesting program, results in a lovely collection. --Leslie Gerber

JUST PLAIN WONDERFUL.......2000-09-23
OK, I'm not an expert of any type...I just happened by chance to meet this musician. After chatting with him and seeing his excitement about his work, I thought I should take a listen. I'm so glad that I did! I have been listening to this CD for six months now and continue to find it at the top of my pile of CD's (at my house that means it gets played a lot!) Every time I hear it it somehow feels fresh and new and SO PEACEFUL and RIGHT.
Soothing Guitar for A Stressful World.......2000-06-19
Andrew Schulman's eclectic choice of selections for this album of classical and popular music is a delight. From the lilting strains of Pachelbel's Canon to George Harrison's classic "Here Comes the Sun" every cut on this album takes on a new dimension with Schulman's soothing guitar. While there may be a few Reveilles in this ample collection, it's the Lullabies and Siestas that will bring you back to this cd over and over. After a tough day at the office, or a long day watching the kids, this is the perfect antidote to a stressful world. Whether you keep it in your car to combat those long commutes or by your bed, to wash away the day -- this one's a keeper.
