This CD is truly an inspiration to me and to many other young flutists. Dr. Gilbert gives a captivating performance of the Prokofiev Sonata, one of the very standard flute pieces. Her tone is smooth and well-rounded, and she has tremendous expression. I would recommend this and any other of Dr. Gilbert's recordings to anyone from young flutists looking for guidance and example to those who are unfamiliar with flute repertoire and are just looking for an exciting new recording.
