Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Abendroth's time has come!.......2005-02-10

Hermann Abendroth is to date an unfairly known conductor. His undeniable virtues immediately catalogue him as one of the most privileged names of the baton of East Germany.

His sound is really surprising. He always searched the intention beneath the score, his crescendos emerge as organic rapture and not only as a mere firework exercise. This Schumann Fourth is one of the four best versions in the market, possibly behind Furtwangler, Paray and Bernstein and his Tchaikovsky Fourth catchs your attention due he comes to the soul of the work.

It's time for you my dear audhiophile, to get close and know about the honesty and profound musicality of this extraordinary director.
