This is a very compelling period instruments performance of Mozart's unfinished C minor Mass. Parrott fills out the work by inserting plain chant into those sections that Mozart did not finish. This is a taut, classically-proportioned reading which is beautifully played and sung. The sopranos sing with purity and lightness. To cap it off, the recording is excellent. Its combination of atmosphere and clarity adds a strong element of fantasy.
