Music as clear as the Caucusus Mountains that inspired it!.......1999-10-25

I really enjoyed the various pieces found on this CD. Along with Part, Kancheli represents a refreshing and welcome trend in modern classical music, and one that is dear to eastern European composers; the return of sacred music, and the exploration of religious themes. The pieces here are very haunting and evocative, with very typical Kanchlian subtlety. I recommend it highly. My one quibble is about the various nature. It would have been better to team the choral works on one CD, rather than separating them.
