Enjoyable chamber music.......2006-08-25

Nimbus records have done it again! Really good performances with that vintage Nimbus sound quality. Some like it and some do not. To me, it sounds as though it was recorded in a large room where the rich folks would hold their big parties or fancy dances. Just close your eyes and imagine you're ease dropping on a string quartet performing to perfection these four string quartets of Mozart. I found these discs to be very enjoyable. These can also be found on the five disc bargain box set "The Ten Celebrated String Quartets" (NI 1778). I've also enjoyed the Medici Quartet's Beethoven box set on Nimbus. More good performances at a great price, and again, with that vintage Nimbus sound.
